Background / History

Fan Qing comes from a wealthy family and is the daughter of Fan Wei and Feng Shuiyun. She and Lin Tingyue were classmates in high school and are already best friends when the story begins 2 10 80.

Her relationship with her father deteriorates after he brings home Fan Tian, supposedly his illegitimate son with Tang Xiao. Fan Qing argues with Fan Wei and beats Fan Tian in front of both adults. Suspecting deception, she recommends a DNA test, but Fan Wei defends Tang Xiao and Fan Tian when they threaten to leave. Fan Qing subsequently refuses to attend Fan Tian’s wedding 33 34.

After her parents divorce, Fan Qing remains with her mother and returns to the Feng family. She openly celebrates Feng Shuiyun’s refusal to reconcile with Fan Wei 47 80.

Fan Qing takes Lin Tingyue to a film studio after being asked for investment advice. There, Lin Tingyue realizes that Fan Qing has invested in a production starring Xie Junnian and privately warns that his career is headed for disaster. The two watch his confrontation with Wu Shanshan before Zhu Miaoshuang publicly exposes evidence of his affair. Fan Qing, previously a casual fan, becomes disgusted with him and fears for her investment 10 11.

Exposing Fan Tian and Tang Xiao

After hearing that Fan Tian secretly held his best man’s hand during his wedding, Fan Qing persuades Tian Tian to replay the wedding video in slow motion. She pauses on a surviving frame that exposes the contact, leading to a confrontation and police involvement 33 34.

At the station, Fan Wei and Tang Xiao walk past Fan Qing to inquire about Fan Tian, while the Lin family checks that she is unharmed. Lin Tingyue’s thoughts reveal that Fan Tian is actually Tang Xiao’s lover, recruited to pose as Fan Wei’s son and swindle him. Police identify him as Qin Tian. When Fan Wei finally approaches his daughter, Fan Qing ignores him and leaves with Bai Yaxin and Lin Tingyue 34 35.

Supporting Her Mother’s New Life

Fan Qing delivers invitations to Reborn, a banquet celebrating Feng Shuiyun’s divorce. She explains that Fan Wei wanted to reunite after Tang Xiao’s fraud came to light, but her mother refused 47.

During the banquet’s subsequent family disputes, Fan Qing backs her mother against Fang Jiancheng and angrily challenges Feng Junchu’s criticism of divorced women. Feng Shuiyun and Lin Tingyue restrain her when she wants to strike him 50.

Travel and Reunion

Fan Qing plans a trip with Feng Shuiyun and invites Lin Tingyue, who declines. Before leaving, she supports Lin Tingyue during the confrontation at Liu Xing’s wedding. At the airport, she promises to return for New Year and set off fireworks with her best friend 103 104.

When she returns, she runs straight into Lin Tingyue’s arms. Lin Tingyue greets her and Feng Shuiyun with a novelty headband reading “Welcome home, Qingqing and Auntie,” then takes them home for a meal 114 115.

Confronting Fan Wei Again

When a boy smears cake on her sweater and refuses to apologize, Fan Qing counters the crowd’s criticism with a tearful performance about her supposedly deceased father. Fan Wei then arrives and identifies the boy as his son. Fan Qing confronts him about his affairs, while Lin Tingyue rejects his claim that he has the right to discipline her. Fan Wei ultimately makes the boy apologize and gives Fan Qing a card as compensation 134.

Fan Qing and Lin Tingyue try on wedding dresses and take bridal photographs together, accompanied by their mothers 135.

Later, she attends Lin Xiawan’s exhibition during Gao Ren’s plagiarism accusation. She recognizes Xiawan’s adoptive father, Song Zhuang, among the opposing party because she has previously encountered him seeking money from the Lin family 143.
