The Book Was Completed

After the fox and crane cried out happily twice, both felt that something seemed off about the two purple bamboos. Hu Yun circled around them, while Little Paper Crane swung back and forth atop the taller stalk. Then they both raised their heads to look at the sky.

At this point, Hu Yun and Little Paper Crane both understood where that strange feeling came from. The two purple bamboos seemed a little more crystalline, but they were actually reflecting a portion of the starlight. It was simply too faint, and they had mistaken it at first glance. Now that the fox and crane examined them closely, they could detect what was special about the purple bamboo. Within a dozen or so breaths of being replanted, a faint, almost imperceptible layer of silver radiance had gradually emerged.

"Little Paper Crane, this should be a method Mister Ji left behind, right?"

Little Paper Crane swung back and forth from the tip of the purple bamboo. Who knew whether it had nodded or not? Soon, it flew away from the bamboo and landed on Hu Yun's head.

"Let's go. I'll come see them again when I have time."

With that, Hu Yun carried Little Paper Crane on his head, leaped out of the Bamboo Forest, and raced along the rugged mountain path toward Ning'an County.

In truth, Ji Yuan's dream-wandering thought was currently in the Bamboo Forest, standing before the two stalks of purple bamboo, one long and one short. The longer stalk now bore almost no trace of its break; it was hard to tell that it had once been cut down and taken away. The shorter one, having lost a section, was not only shorter by one segment, but also had an obvious ring of knots near the ground. Yet it
