Ji Yuan could clearly sense that when he boarded the Sky Swallowing Beast, the enormous demon beast was in a state between sleep and wakefulness. Sometimes, even with its eyes open, it was not truly awake.

Like an enormous fish slapping the water, the clouds and mist atop Jade Spirit Peak suddenly trembled and exploded apart. Carrying ripples upon ripples of cloud and mist, the Sky Swallowing Beast swam toward the horizon.

The tremor traveled directly down to Jade Spirit Peak. To those below, it felt like layer upon layer of wind brushing past them. Many whose Spiritual Sense was especially keen could even sense a rising and falling within their hearts, as though they were seated aboard a rocking boat. Yet in less than a breath, the sensation was gone.
