Zesi joined the Roger Pirates, mastered Haki and swordsmanship, and helped Roger reach Laugh Tale before returning home to take charge of the Brunei Family. After defeating Cracker’s attack, he accepted Big Mom’s invitation to discuss cooperation and ordered Feiluo to accompany him to Totto Land.

• Zesi bought the Tremor-Tremor Fruit, trained to withstand its recoil, and joined the Roger Pirates to learn Haki and grow stronger.
• Zesi rapidly mastered Haki and swordsmanship, earned a bounty, defeated Douglas Bullet, and fought Kuzan during a clash between Roger’s crew and the Marines.
• Zesi fought Kaido for a day and a night, severely wounded him, and drove him to flee before rejoining the Roger Pirates.
• Zesi helped Roger meet Whitebeard and bring Kozuki Oden aboard, then warned the Roger Pirates that the World Government might target them after Roger’s death and proposed taking over the crew.
• After Roger disbanded the crew, Zesi returned to the Brunei Family and overcame Feiluo’s attempt to drive him away, taking charge of the family and its Shadow Wings.
• Big Mom sent Cracker and his brothers to seize the Brunei Family’s wealth, but Zesi shattered Cracker’s Biscuit Soldiers and defeated the invading Charlotte Family members.
• Zesi called Big Mom using Cracker’s Den Den Mushi, accepted her invitation to discuss cooperation, and told Feiluo to go with him to Totto Land.

Zesi defeated Big Mom and revealed the Roger Pirates had left Laugh Tale without taking anything. When the World Government tried to seize the Brunei Family’s wine business, Zesi fought off CP9 and Sakazuki, then held the prisoners and demanded compensation from the Celestial Dragons.

• Big Mom challenged Zesi for Laugh Tale’s secret, but he defeated her after awakening the Tremor-Tremor Fruit and eventually told her the Roger Pirates had left everything behind.
• The Marines learned of Zesi’s strength and ordered an investigation into the Roger Pirates’ reported dissolution while postponing action against Zesi and Rayleigh.
• Kate expanded the Brunei Family’s wine business, and a Celestial Dragon ordered the family to supply wine exclusively to the nobles.
• Zesi refused Spandine’s demand to surrender the wine trade, and Feiluo and the demon-masked fighters drove back the World Government forces sent to seize the family’s property.
• Zesi defeated Youpi, Lampkin, and Jason as Marine Headquarters identified him as Wenlai Zesi and ordered the World Government to suspend its operation.
• Sakazuki attacked Zesi with magma, but Zesi withstood his blows and overwhelmed him in a prolonged fight.
• Sengoku arrived as Zesi prepared to strike Sakazuki, and Zesi demanded money from the Celestial Dragons, ransom for the prisoners, and compensation for the Brunei Family.
• Zesi ordered Shadow Wings to cuff the prisoners, and Sakazuki was restrained with Seastone Handcuffs after vowing revenge.

Zesi fought Golden Lion, declared himself the Dragon Emperor, and reunited with the Roger Pirates before breaking into Impel Down to free Bullet. He and Bullet escaped while leaving the other prisoners behind, and Navy reinforcements were sent to stop them.

• The Five Elders paid Zesi for Brunei Wine but refused to ransom Jason, Youpi, and Lampkin, so Zesi took the three agents to train Shadow Wings.
• Golden Lion attacked Zesi after Zesi had sunk most of his fleet, and their battle ended when Zesi’s awakened Tremor-Tremor Fruit clashed with Golden Lion’s power and Marine observers interrupted them.
• After Roger’s execution began the Great Pirate Era, Zesi traveled to Sabaody, where he joined the Roger Pirates’ reunion and declared he would retrieve Bullet from Impel Down.
• Zesi confronted Rosward on Sabaody, announced that he wanted the epithet Dragon Emperor, and refused to accept the World Government’s proposed alternative.
• Zesi infiltrated Impel Down and defeated its guards, Jailer Beasts, and Warden Basen as he fought his way toward Infinite Hell.
• Zesi found Golden Lion in Infinite Hell but refused to release him, then reached Bullet’s cell and shattered its seastone chains.
• Zesi and Bullet left the other prisoners behind and escaped before Navy reinforcements arrived, as Zesi sought to build a crew from loyal people he could train.

Zesi escaped Impel Down, formed the Azure Emperor Pirates, and challenged the Marines and New World pirates who sought to test his new title. In Wano Country, he killed Orochi, defeated Kaido, and began building ties with Kozuki Oden while exposing Kanjuro’s identity.

• Magellan’s defenses failed as Zesi and Bullet broke through Impel Down, then Sengoku and Garp confronted them outside the prison.
• Zesi and Garp traded blows while Bullet fought Sengoku, and Zesi used his awakened Tremor-Tremor Fruit techniques against both Marines.
• Rayleigh and the former Roger Pirates arrived to support Zesi, who threatened the World Government and proposed forming a crew and Dragon Hall.
• The World Government named Zesi the Azure Emperor and gave him a five-billion-Beli bounty, while Zesi and the Roger Pirates established Dragon Hall.
• Zesi’s six-member crew defeated Captain John’s fleet and sank or scattered the Hundred Alliance Pirates before sailing toward Wano Country.
• Zesi killed Orochi and defeated Kaido in a devastating battle, then promised Kozuki Oden that the Azure Emperor Pirates would protect Wano.
• Zesi invited Oden to establish a Dragon Hall branch, discussed reopening Wano’s weapons factories with swordsmith Tenguyama Hitetsu, and began recruiting crew members.
• Kanjuro asked to join Zesi’s crew, but Zesi identified him as a member of the Kurozumi Family and accused him of seeking a chance to attack.
