With the problem of Genjutsu laid out before him, Uya kept searching his mind for information about it.
Uya guessed that Uchiha Kan might possess the Sharingan.
Even if he did not have the Sharingan, who would believe that a Chunin from the Uchiha Clan could not use a single Genjutsu? Not a chance!
This was a very serious problem.
"Genjutsu's essence seems to be interfering with the flow of chakra to disrupt the enemy's thoughts, thereby throwing their senses into confusion."
Uya vaguely remembered that, in the original story, when Jiraiya taught Naruto how to counter Genjutsu, he had said that anyone caught in one should try to stop their own chakra flow for an instant.
Chakra was essentially the product of combining energy extracted from the human body's thirteen billion cells with spiritual energy.
By interfering with the flow of chakra, one could affect an enemy's mind and cause hallucinations and the like.
In other words... the essence of Genjutsu was still connected to chakra!
And simply restoring the disrupted chakra flow could break a Genjutsu. In the original story, the Eight-Tails Jinchuriki, Killer B, had said that Genjutsu would not work on him because he had Eight-Tails inside him. With two consciousnesses in one body, they could help each other restore their chakra flow.
At this thought, a trace of surprise suddenly appeared in Uya's eyes.
"Does that mean I won't fall under Genjutsu at all?"
It suddenly occurred to him that Might Guy had seemingly never fallen under any Genjutsu in the original story. Even later, when he opened the Eight Gates Released Formation and beat Six Paths Madara savagely, Madara had not used Genjutsu against him.
Madara had a wealth of combat experience. If Genjutsu really had been Might Guy's weakness, he would have used it to bring Might Guy down long before.
The real reason was probably that Genjutsu had little effect on Might Guy.
Especially since Might Guy had activated the Eight Gates Released Formation at the time, sending chakra surging wildly against itself inside his body and concentrating his mental will to an extraordinary degree. Besides, activating the Eight Gates Released Formation also caused immense pain.
Under those circumstances, even the strongest Genjutsu would probably struggle to take effect.
"Besides, even if Genjutsu can disturb the chakra inside me, it can't affect my power of tremors."
"All it takes is one simple tremor..."
Uya murmured under his breath. At a thought, a thread of the power of tremors stirred gently inside him. It immediately shook his chakra, bringing its flow to an instant halt.
He did not even need hand seals to break Genjutsu!
"Probably aside from absurdly powerful Genjutsu like Tsukuyomi and Kotoamatsukami, ordinary Genjutsu will be completely ineffective against me, whether it controls the senses or restrains the mind and body. I can break it instantly."
At this thought, Uya's expression immediately relaxed.
It seemed that what he had been worrying about all along had never been a problem at all.
From the very beginning, it was not just Taijutsu and Ninjutsu at his level that were ineffective against him. Genjutsu was ineffective too!
His Quake Release Kekkei Genkai could perfectly and easily break all kinds of Genjutsu. A simple tremor was all it took to free the chakra inside him from an enemy's interference, thereby countering the mental attack.
Although he felt almost certain of it, Uya had always been cautious by nature, so he still decided to find someone to test it.
The difficulty was that he barely knew anyone in Konoha, and Might Duy could not possibly know Genjutsu. That went without saying.
In the end, it was only with Kushina's help that Uya found someone to help him test it.
After two simple attempts, the person helping him stared at him blankly, his face full of disbelief.
An ordinary person needed to make at least a hand seal to break Genjutsu, stopping their own chakra flow or forcibly breaking through the interference.
But Uya did not even need hand seals. He seemed to be outright immune!
The ninja found this utterly inconceivable and was deeply shocked, looking at Uya as though he were a monster.
After several attempts, Uya finally confirmed it completely: as long as a Genjutsu was not on the level of Kotoamatsukami or Tsukuyomi, it was entirely ineffective against him!
In fact, as his Quake Release Kekkei Genkai grew stronger, if it could likewise extend into the mental realm through chakra, then perhaps even Tsukuyomi and Kotoamatsukami would not be impossible to resist!
Having confirmed that ordinary Genjutsu was ineffective, Uya felt completely at ease.
And when Kushina saw that Uya could actually be immune to Genjutsu, she was instantly filled with joy.
The stronger Uya became, the happier she was.
Before, she had never expected Uya to defeat Minato Namikaze and take first place in the Ninja Academy's practical combat ranking assessment.
Now, no one thought Uya could defeat Uchiha Kan, a Chunin.
Yet for some inexplicable reason, Kushina had faith in Uya!
After calling out a word of encouragement to Uya, Kushina obediently stopped disturbing him and let him continue his training.
And so, Uya returned to the mountain behind the village.
While continuing to strengthen his physique, Uya also began some basic development of moves that belonged to him.
Previously, he had never paid any attention to moves, because there had been no need at all.
Now, as his strength increased, his Quake Release Kekkei Genkai also grew stronger and stronger, and the power it produced could naturally be divided and developed.
With Uya's Quake Release Kekkei Genkai, an ordinary punch attacked the entire area directly in front of him, unleashing powerful tremors throughout it.
Moreover, these tremors were not an impact that knocked people backward, but a force more akin to tearing.
In this regard, Uya developed three moves by simply combining it with Taijutsu.
Calling it developing moves was an overstatement. In truth, they were merely simple applications.
Collapse! Sever! Pierce!
These were the names of the three moves.
Collapse was Uya directing the power of tremors downward from above, striking down with his palm.
This attack enveloped the enemy below, with the power of tremors striking both the enemy and the ground.
Sever was the move Uya had used before: punching out to both sides and splitting the entire field in two with a single tremor!
Pierce was an uppercut from below, an upward attack.
Although these three attacks merely changed the direction of the power of tremors slightly, that power was so strong that even a simple change in attack direction would give an enemy an enormous headache.
They were very troublesome to defend against.
And while practicing these three attacks, Uya suddenly discovered that, now that his power of tremors was strong enough to shatter B-rank Ninjutsu, it could actually cause earthquakes!
If Collapse, Sever, and Pierce all fell within the scope of Air Quake, then the Quake Release: Earth Shaking Technique he developed next fell within the scope of earthquakes.
Earth Release had a C-rank Earth Shaking Technique, but the one Uya used was stronger than that C-rank Earth Shaking Technique!
Not only could it make the ground heave and shake, it could even shake cracks into the earth!
And after Uya had mastered the flexible use of all these newly developed moves, the time for his duel to the death with Uchiha Kan finally arrived!
