Testing the bone dragon

Morris chose a clearing in the snow outside the castle to test the Bone Dragon's various abilities.

It's a holiday now, and there are very few people at Hogwarts, so no one should notice what's going on here.

However, it doesn't matter even if you get caught.

Morris had no intention of hiding the existence of the Bone Dragon; as long as he didn't say it outright, no one would know that he had secretly dug it out of the Forbidden Forest.

But it seems that possessing the remains of a dragon without permission is illegal in the Wizarding World?

Never mind, it doesn't matter.

Morris casually brushed the snow off the corner of his robe and released the Bone Dragon.

It would be a shame not to show off something this awesome.

"Click--click-"

The Bone Dragon stretched its body, spread its wings, and made a crisp sound as its joints rubbed together. It then circled on the snow-covered ground, kicking up a large cloud of dirt and snow.

"Your movements are fairly agile."

Morris nodded slightly, looking at the Bone Dragon with satisfaction.

The space in the Room of Requirement is ultimately limited, so the Bone Dragon can only curl up its body.

Now, this enormous creature can finally reveal its full form.

When standing, it is over twelve feet tall at the shoulder and nearly forty feet long from head to tail—a large size even among fire dragons.

Its entire skeleton is a warm, lustrous white. Its skull is long and narrow, its spine is thick and strong, and its limbs are full of power. Even when it flicks its tail, it can produce a sharp, piercing sound.

It's easy to imagine how terrifying this Bone Dragon's fighting power would be.

Morris stepped back a few paces and gave the Bone Dragon the command to take off.

He couldn't wait.

Although flying isn't particularly unusual for wizards—it can be done with a broom—but...

That's a fire dragon!

Fire Dragon!

Who didn't dream of becoming a dragon Knight when they were a child?

Morris was no exception.

Even if you can't catch a live dragon, isn't it cooler for it to die?

However, after receiving the command, the Bone Dragon did not move at all, but simply tilted its head and looked at Morris.

Sure enough, Morris sighed inwardly.

The thing he least wanted to see still happened.

The current Bone Dragon probably doesn't have the ability to fly.

That's a real shame.

Perhaps sensing its master's disappointment, the Bone Dragon hurriedly began to flap its wings.

As is well known, dragons rely on magic to fly; their wings are merely tools for balancing their bodies.

Just as Morris was about to stop the Bone Dragon from struggling, the Bone Dragon suddenly swayed and rose from the ground, its whole body swinging left and right in the air as if it were drunk, just above his head.

It actually flew?

Morris was somewhat surprised.

However, before he could even rejoice, the Bone Dragon swayed and fell heavily to the ground.

A muffled thud.

Morris quickly stepped forward, squatted down beside it, and examined it carefully.

The Bone Dragon was intact, with no parts missing, only the flames in its eyes seemed to have dimmed slightly.

He immediately understood why the Bone Dragon had fallen.

The Bone Dragon doesn't have enough magic power to support its flight right now. That brief moment of leaving the ground was its limit, almost draining all the power from its body.

Upon closer examination, this is normal.

After all, the Bone Dragon is currently only First-Tier Undead Creature at best.

Judging from the previous example of undead creatures, their abilities only see a significant improvement after they advance to a higher level.

Thinking of this, Morris glanced at the Bone Dragon's massive body.

Judging from this, the amount of energy crystals required for advancement will probably be Astronomy.

Fortunately, he hadn't stopped making Gap Energy Crystal during this time.

When he was at school, whenever he had nothing to do, he would wander into the Gap World and make energy crystals along the way.

He currently has enough Gap Energy Crystal to almost fill three briefcases.

It's ready to try.

If all else fails, he can also throw in the remaining Philosopher's Stone energy crystal— the Bone Dragon is more than worth it for him.

Just as he was contemplating the location and time of the advancement ceremony, it suddenly started snowing, and the snow fell heavier and heavier.

At the same time, the crunching sound of footsteps on snow came from behind it.

" George, I knew the professor couldn't have done this."

"Don't make a sound... Oh, we've been spotted... Hello, Morris."

Morris looked back and saw Fred and George approaching one after the other, covered in snowflakes, their red hair standing out against the snow.

Fred stared at the Bone Dragon and asked, "What is this? A moving model of a fire dragon's bones?"

"Obviously," Morris nodded, puzzled by the twins' calmness, "I thought you would have reacted more strongly."

"We were already surprised when we first saw it from a distance," George rubbed his face. "I judged it to be Professor Kettleburn, he's a huge fan of dragons, I never expected it to be you."

" Professor Kettleburn isn't in good health," Fred said, taking a few steps closer to examine the Bone Dragon closely.

The Bone Dragon, however, took a small step back.

Morris sensed a hint of fear from the Bone Dragon.

No, you're a dragon! What are you afraid of two little wizards for?

He was at a loss for words, both amused and exasperated.

George circled the Bone Dragon once, then asked uncertainly, "We saw it... it seemed to have taken flight just now?"

"Yes," Morris said frankly, "I'm trying to make the Bone Dragon fly, but I haven't been able to succeed completely yet."

"This is way more impressive than all the stuff we've been researching," Fred exclaimed, leaning closer to Morris. "What's it made of? It certainly isn't wood, is it?"

George was equally curious, "And what kind of magic did you use?"

They didn't seem to recognize that it was a real dragon skeleton.

Morris chuckled softly and shook his head. "It's a secret."

Fred made an exaggerated expression of hurt, clutching his chest with one hand. "Oh, please, Morris, we're friends. Tell me your secret, okay?"

Upon hearing Morris's words, George narrowed his eyes and carefully examined the Bone Dragon once more.

Then, as if struck by a sudden realization, he asked Morris, "Wait, doesn't this skeleton violate some regulations?"

Morris winked at him. "As long as you're not caught, it's not considered a violation."

Fred's playful expression vanished, and he and George exchanged a glance, both understanding each other's thoughts.

"Understood," Fred's voice became serious, and he nodded to Morris. "We won't ask any more questions, nor will we tell anyone else... Can we take a closer look at it?"

"Of course, in fact I'm planning to test this Bone Dragon's abilities," Morris shrugged. "And I don't mind if you tell anyone."
