Care of Magical Creatures, Hagrid did indeed only have everyone take care of the Flobberworm and feed them chopped lettuce.
There were no other activities until the end of get out of class.
Morris didn't know how to comment.
In theory, professors would try their best to prepare interesting content for the first class.
Hagrid's actions cannot even be described as perfunctory.
It's practically slacking off.
On the way back, Kyle leaned close to Morris and whispered, "The other two houses' Care of Magical Creatures yesterday weren't like this."
"Not the Flobberworm?" Morris asked.
"I heard it's Hippogriff," Kyle replied.
"That's quite interesting." Morris nodded.
The Hippogriff, as its name suggests, is a Fantastic Beasts that possesses the physical characteristics of both an eagle and a horse.
Although they look like horses and can fly, the Ministry of Magic does not classify them as Pegasus.
Morris had seen people selling baby animals in Knockturn Alley.
It's quite expensive.
"Unfortunately, someone got injured during class and was taken to Madam Pomfrey," Kyle said. "That's why Hagrid is trying to fool us with these soft, squishy bugs today."
"I see," Morris said, understanding dawning on him.
An accident in the very first lesson would undoubtedly damage Hagrid's confidence.
That big guy is much more fragile inside than he appears, so it makes sense that he turned out this way.
"Who is injured?" he then asked.
"It sounds like Draco Malfoy from Slytherin." Kyle seemed unsure. "I heard it from someone this morning."
Morris was taken aback. "Is Malfoy really that useless?"
"Uh..." Kyle was about to reply when he saw Draco Malfoy walking towards them from around the corner of the corridor ahead, accompanied by another girl.
"Oh, this is troublesome." Kyle whispered in Morris's ear, "I'm sure they heard us."
Morris looked up.
Kyle is right.
Draco's expression wasn't good, but it didn't look like anger; it was more like embarrassment.
The girl next to him, who looked sharp-tongued, was glaring at them angrily.
"It's you!" The girl rushed up to Morris and Kyle, her voice shrill, "Talking bad about Draco behind his back!"
Morris looked at her face.
Uh... who was it again?
I have a vague recollection, but I can't quite remember. It's impossible for him to remember all the students' names.
" Pansy, forget it, let's go."
Draco stepped forward and tugged at Pansy Parkinson's arm. His face was expressionless, but his embarrassment was more pronounced.
Morris then noticed his bandaged arm.
Pansy froze, turning to look at him. " Draco? What are you doing?"
"I said I'm leaving," Draco repeated, his gaze never falling on Morris.
Then, he left without looking back.
Seeing this, Pansy could only glare fiercely at Morris before jogging after him.
" Draco! Wait for me! Why are you afraid of that person?"
"I'm not afraid, Pansy. He's a madman, we don't need to waste our breath on him."
The sound gradually faded into the distance.
Morris stood there, watching the two disappear around the corner.
madman?
Ha, you're itching for a beating, Malfoy.
However, this description might be quite apt in some ways.
Kyle leaned closer and let out a long sigh of relief. "You scared me to death! I thought you guys were going to fight."
"Don't worry," Morris said. " Malfoy is afraid of me."
Kyle was immediately curious, "Why? What happened between you two?"
At Hogwarts, everyone knows Draco Malfoy's arrogant and disdainful nature.
Morris smiled faintly, "That's none of your business."
"Oh." Kyle was clearly dissatisfied with this answer.
But he didn't ask any further questions.
Having spent so much time with Morris, he had long since figured out a pattern: if the other person didn't want to talk about something, you couldn't get anything out of them no matter how much you asked.
The two continued walking forward.
After taking a few steps, Kyle couldn't help but mutter under his breath, "Why?"
Morris replied casually, "Guess~"
Kyle:
Ten minutes later, in the Slytherin Common Room.
Draco walked straight to the sofa in the far corner, plopped down, and sank into the soft cushions.
Pansy followed him over, sat down opposite him, and stared at him for a long time.
"Can we talk now?" she asked, her voice much softer than before, "What's the deal with this guy named Morris Black?"
Draco sighed and said sullenly, "It was my father's order not to get close to him."
Pansy didn't quite understand. "Why?"
" Black and Dumbledore are very close," Draco whispered. "My dad says Dumbledore takes good care of him."
Pansy frowned. " Dumbledore? What could he possibly have to do with Morris Black?"
"I don't know." Draco looked up at the ceiling. "Anyway, don't have too much contact with him. After all, he's just a Mudblood; he's not worth my energy."
" Mudblood," Pansy scoffed.
Draco glanced down at his bandaged forearm.
"Oh, Draco, can you move your hand now?" Pansy asked immediately with concern.
"Not yet." Draco shook his head, then his voice turned cold. "I think Hogwarts needs a new professor for Care of Magical Creatures."
He simply couldn't stand Hagrid.
I disliked it from the very beginning.
How did that big, dumb guy become a professor? How did he manage that? Just because he's on good terms with Dumbledore?
"Exactly right," Pansy agreed.
The first class in the afternoon was Defence Against the Dark Arts.
As soon as Lupin entered the classroom, he said, "Today is a practical lesson. Grab your wands, we're going to move to another spot."
The students followed him out of the classroom, across the corridor, and finally stopped outside the faculty lounge.
"Please come in." Lupin stepped aside.
Morris followed the crowd into the faculty lounge.
This room is rarely used by professors, but today, there is someone sitting in it.
It's Snape.
He was leaning back on the old sofa with his eyes closed, his hands folded in front of his chest, as if he were resting.
Hearing the noise, his eyelids twitched, but he didn't open them.
" Snape." Lupin entered, closed the door, and calmly asked, "Why are you here?"
Snape then slowly opened his eyes.
He glanced at Lupin, then at the students crowded around the door, and sneered, "A break? Is that not allowed?"
Morris watched this scene and suddenly understood something.
Snape and Lupin didn't get along—this was something many people could tell.
Morris was no exception.
He thought Snape might just want to annoy Lupin.
