Sirius Black?
Upon hearing Morris's words, Fudge and Professor McGonagall's expressions simultaneously turned serious.
Fudge's smile faded slightly.
He asked calmly, "Do you have any leads?"
"Have."
Morris nodded and opened the briefcase in his hand.
Professor McGonagall, with her keen eyes, immediately noticed the unusual nature of the box. "This box has been enchanted with Undetectable Extension Charm?"
"That's right," Morris replied casually, "But don't worry, I borrowed it from a friend, and it's registered with the Ministry of Magic. Minister Fudge should be able to find it."
To avoid unnecessary trouble, he had Frick help him complete all the formalities a while ago.
The Ministry of Magic's inspections in this regard are quite strict, but none of that matters when it comes to Galleon.
Fudge waved his hand, clearly unconcerned. "That's not important, Morris. What about the clues?"
Morris didn't say anything more, but simply turned the box over and shook it vigorously.
A man slid out of the box and fell to the ground with a thud.
The man lay face down, motionless.
His messy hair covered most of his face, and his clothes were tattered and smelled of something that hadn't been washed in a long time.
Fudge was startled by the sudden commotion and his eyes widened.
Professor McGonagall was also stunned. Her hand instinctively reached for her wand, but after seeing the condition of the person on the ground, she slowly lowered it.
"Perhaps I should introduce him," Morris said with a perfectly timed smile, "This is Sirius Black."
He crouched down, grabbed Sirius's shoulders, and turned him over, revealing a face that was barely recognizable.
Fudge opened his mouth, but it took him a while to manage to squeeze out a sound.
"You're not kidding? This, this is Sirius Black?"
"Obviously," Morris stood up, "Then what about my five thousand Galleon?"
Fudge didn't bother to answer and immediately started circling around the unconscious Sirius.
Professor McGonagall also bent down and leaned closer to examine the face carefully.
"Can we wake him up?" Fudge asked.
"Of course." Morris was about to take out his wand when he suddenly realized that this wasn't Hogwarts.
Minors who use magic outside of school are subject to punishment according to regulations.
Fortunately, Professor McGonagall intervened.
She waved her wand gently, and Sirius's eyelids twitched twice.
A few seconds later, Sirius slowly opened his eyes, first looking blank, then quickly focusing.
Professor McGonagall, Fudge, and the young man who knocked him out.
It's over.
Sirius looked on with despair.
This is undoubtedly the worst-case scenario.
If he is captured and returned to Azkaban, he will have no chance of escape.
The Ministry of Magic must already know he is Animagus. The Dementor will be watching him 24/7, and there will be no more loopholes for them to exploit.
" Sirius Black?" Fudge's tone still carried a hint of uncertainty.
Sirius didn't answer, his gaze quickly sweeping across the room.
Windows, doors...
"He's trying to escape," Morris said calmly, immediately seeing through the other's intentions. "It's no use."
"A cunning criminal," Fudge muttered.
Sirius lowered his head in dejection.
The room was silent for a few seconds.
Professor McGonagall shifted her gaze from Sirius on the ground to Morris.
"How did you catch him, Morris?" she asked, her expression serious.
Morris blinked. "The process doesn't matter, Professor. What matters is the result."
Professor McGonagall is like that; she always gets hung up on trivial details.
Just then, Sirius suddenly raised his head, his voice hoarse, "I want to see Dumbledore."
"You have no right to speak here, Black. You've caused enough trouble already," Fudge sneered. " The Dementor will be here soon to take your soul."
All he wants now is to get rid of this hot potato, Shan Qian, as soon as possible.
"I'll contact the Auror now," Fudge stood up, a relieved smile on his face. "They'll come and take Sirius back to Azkaban. Oh, and Professor McGonagall, the Dementor no longer need to be stationed at Hogwarts. Once I've brought them back, I'll order their removal."
That would be best.
Professor McGonagall also breathed a sigh of relief.
She had had enough of those grotesque monsters.
"Wait a moment!"
Seeing that he was about to face a terrible end, Sirius turned to Professor McGonagall and said rapidly, "Tell Dumbledore Peter is the one who betrayed us! He's Animagus, a rat, right next to Ron Weasley!"
Fudge shook his head as he walked out. "Listen to that," he said, "It's all just excuses. Every criminal says the same thing when they're caught."
Professor McGonagall frowned deeply, lost in thought.
Morris didn't care.
He asked, "Minister, when can I receive my bonus?"
Fudge turned his head, a reassuring smile on his face. "Don't worry, child. In a couple of days, once this matter is completely settled, the money will be in your Gringotts account immediately."
"In a couple of days?" Morris raised an eyebrow.
"Yes." Fudge patted him on the shoulder.
Sirius let out a hoarse, cold laugh.
"Don't worry?" he scoffed. "I'm sure the Ministry of Magic won't give you a single penny."
Fudge's face darkened, and he snapped, "Shut up, Black."
At this moment, Professor McGonagall suddenly spoke up, "Regarding the bounty, Minister, I think it would be best to give it to Morris as soon as possible. He deserves it."
Morris silently gave Professor McGonagall a thumbs-up.
Fudge's expression became subtle.
Is this a sign of distrust towards the Ministry of Magic?
Or is it that you don't trust him?
After a moment of silence.
"Of course," Fudge finally spoke, his tone softening slightly, " Minerva, you're right. This child has indeed done a great service. But the procedures still need to be followed. The Ministry of Magic Ministry of Magic its rules."
"I'll be waiting," Morris said, maintaining a polite smile.
Sirius was still muttering nonsense like " Peter," "Rat," and " Weasley " on the side.
But nobody paid him any attention.
The Auror arrived quickly.
After taking Sirius Black, Morris returned to Hogwarts in high spirits.
Five thousand Galleon... Heh...
It's just in time for lunch.
As soon as he entered the Great Hall, a group of people surrounded him.
Clearly, the twins have already spread the word.
Fred pushed his way to the front and asked eagerly, "Where's Sirius Black?"
"They were taken away by the Ministry of Magic."
Morris answered casually, sat down in his seat, and, completely ignoring the stares of others, began to eat a pie.
The crowd erupted in chaos.
" Merlin's beard has finally been caught!"
"My mom even wrote me a letter telling me to be careful!"
"I heard the Dementor are leaving too?"
The hall was filled with chatter, and the Great Hall was as lively as a festival.
The happiest of all was undoubtedly Harry Potter.
Sirius's capture means he is now completely safe.
He could finally go to Hogsmeade openly, without having to live in fear anymore.
Harry stood at the edge of the crowd, watching Morris being surrounded by everyone, and breathed a sigh of relief.
