Moody's Dark Magic

Those bone spikes in the air were undoubtedly incredibly oppressive.

Moody squinted his normal eye, raised his wand high, and prepared to cast a spell.

Seeing this, Sirius also solemnly took out his wand.

If each of these bone spurs had the same power as before...

That would be terrible.

"Let's go!"

Morris waved his wand with the grace of a conductor.

In stark contrast to his relaxed demeanor, bone spurs rained down like a torrential downpour, with unparalleled ferocity.

Sirius's pupils suddenly contracted.

He felt that even with prior preparation, he wouldn't be able to withstand an attack of that magnitude for long.

Moody chose the most expected response: the Shield Charm.

" Protego!"

He waved his wand with perfect form.

The next second, a transparent barrier unfolded in front of him.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang...

Bone spurs struck the barrier repeatedly, producing a dull sound like being hit by a heavy hammer.

Moody's expression grew increasingly serious.

In just five seconds, his barrier began to tremble, and then cracks began to appear on it.

Finally, the barrier gave way.

The moment it shattered, Moody swung his wand sharply and shouted a spell that Morris had never heard of before.

A beam of red light exploded from the tip of his wand, and wherever the light touched, the bone spurs instantly turned into grayish-white powder, which fluttered down.

Morris stopped attacking.

Moody stood there, panting heavily, his forehead covered in sweat; clearly, the two spells he had just cast had exhausted him.

The testing is almost complete.

Judging from the strength of the Shield Charm, Moody is no match for Scrape. Keep in mind that Scrape's barrier withstood Moody's rain of bone spikes for several tens of seconds before only cracking slightly.

Moody's Shield Charm only lasted for a dozen seconds at most.

However, the last unknown spell had a special effect on his bone spurs.

If the opponent had used this spell from the beginning, they would have been able to easily counter his Bone Summoning Spell.

Morris stepped forward. "Are you alright, Professor Moody?"

Moody took out his water bottle, took a sip, and exhaled.

"I'm fine," he said, panting. "You're stronger than I thought, Morris. It seems Dumbledore was right, you are special."

Morris paused for a moment, "Really? Dumbledore mentioned me."

Moody nodded and said nothing more.

He picked up the kettle again, tilted his head back, and poured the water into his mouth, but quickly put it down again because it was empty.

"Oh no," he whispered.

Morris asked, "Then what about our practical exercises..."

"It's time to wrap this up." Moody shoved the empty water bottle back into his robe pocket, his movements quicker than usual. "The commotion has probably attracted attention. Let's go."

After he finished speaking, he staggered toward the castle.

Morris shrugged, walked over to Sirius, who was standing there in a daze, and waved his hand in front of his eyes. "Let's go, Sirius."

Sirius, snapping out of his daze, watched Moody's retreating figure and began to clap. "Amazing, both you and Moody."

The two walked together toward the castle.

Morris casually asked, "What was the name of the last spell Professor Moody used?"

"If I'm not mistaken," Sirius said in a low voice, "That should be a variant of the Bone-Breaking Curse."

" The Bone-Breaking Curse?" Morris recalled the image of the bone spurs turning into powder.

That's a very fitting name.

This magic must be a big problem for his skeleton.

"Yes, the Bone-Breaking Curse." Sirius hesitated for a moment, then said, "It's a very powerful Dark Magic. If you're hit by that curse, the bones inside your body will start to shatter from the inside out. It's extremely evil."

Morris was somewhat surprised, "Are Auror ' Dark Magic really that powerful?"

Judging from Moody's performance just now, his Dark Magic is a bit too skillful.

In comparison, the Shield Charm was less than ideal.

"No," Sirius shook his head, "Normal Auror don't use Dark Magic. As for Moody... I'm afraid he's special. You know, he's been Auror since the time of You-Know-Who. You can tell from his face; those scars are from that time."

"Alright." Morris nodded thoughtfully.

They shouldn't be underestimated.

He's quite capable as Defence Against the Dark Arts Professor.

The next day, Morris planned to find other professors for practical exercises.

This time, his target was Snape —his beloved Potions Class professor.

At seven o'clock in the morning, as soon as Morris stepped into the Potions Classroom, he smelled a faint bitter odor seeping from under the door of Snape's office.

He knocked on the door.

"Come in," Snape's voice came, tinged with a hint of impatience at being disturbed.

Morris pushed open the door, and the office was filled with an even stronger, bitter smell. Snape was sitting behind a long table, stirring a large crucible that was bubbling, without even looking up.

" Morris, what brings you here this time?" Snape asked expressionlessly.

He was no longer surprised by Morris's arrival.

The number of times all the other students came to his office combined couldn't match the number of times Morris came alone, although not many students would come to him on their own initiative.

Morris looked at the crucible and asked curiously, "Professor, what are you boiling?"

Snape continued stirring, replying calmly, "A Potions that replenishes life force."

Replenishing vitality?

Morris, remembering Lucius, asked again, "For whom is it?"

"None of your business," Snape's voice turned cold. "You came to me, I don't think, to inquire about this kind of thing."

Morris knew Snape wouldn't say anything more, so he went straight to the point. "Professor, would you like to have a duel with me?"

Snape stopped what he was doing, stood up, and slowly asked, "Was your head damaged by a spell?"

"I just wanted to use this as a reference," Morris said sincerely. "I encountered a dark wizard before, but I couldn't break through his Shield Charm. I'd like to know, if it were you, how long could your Shield Charm last?"

The Shield Charm is the most common defensive magic used by wizards, and for this reason, it can be used to roughly measure a wizard's strength.

"A dark wizard?" Snape, then asked, "Where did you encounter him? And when?"

"In the middle of nowhere," Morris explained simply, "I was also cursed by him, but I asked Dumbledore to cure me."

Snape walked up to Morris, paused for two seconds, and said, "Learning to ask for help isn't so bad."

"Since you want to see my Shield Charm, come with me."

Oh, he agreed.

Morris smiled.

No wonder he was the Hogwarts professor who valued him the most.
