Ancestral Legacy

The Meng Family's founding patriarch was its first Titled Douluo. Across more than a thousand years, the clan produced roughly one Titled Douluo every three generations and assembled a complete inherited Soul Bone set. Its thirteenth patriarch—Meng Zhongqi's grandfather—reached Level 97 and possessed both a hundred-thousand-year ninth Soul Ring and a hundred-thousand-year Soul Bone 10 19.

Despite these reserves, the family entered a period of fragile succession. Its hereditary Martial Soul was difficult to pass down, and the main line continued with only one heir per generation. At Meng Qianqiu's awakening, a gap between the older and younger generations threatened the continuity of the inheritance 1 3 24.

Meng Qianqiu's Awakening

Meng Qianqiu awakened the Manggu Vermilion Toad and Seven Kill Sword as Twin Martial Souls, together with innate full Soul Power. Meng Zhongqi concealed these discoveries, recognizing that his existing strength could not guarantee the child's safety against stronger factions 1 2.

Meng Qianqiu subsequently helped improve his grandfather's health and cultivation prospects. Rather than continue reserving the inherited Soul Bones for later descendants, Meng Zhongqi used them to pursue Titled Douluo and secure the family's bargaining power 9 10.

Entry into Spirit Hall

At Meng Qianqiu's urging, Meng Zhongqi joined Spirit Hall as an elder while Nangong Wan'er remained outside the organization. The arrangement sought Spirit Hall's protection and resources without placing the entire family under one political power 20.

Meng Zhongqi's coronation in midsummer of Douluo Calendar year 2574 brought the formerly secluded clan into public view. The family deliberately circulated information about the Vermilion-Eyed Ice Toad's lifespan-shortening defect: it reassured Spirit Hall that Meng Zhongqi was not a long-term rival while warning other factions against provoking a supposedly dying powerhouse 22.

The other four hidden families followed Meng Zhongqi's lead in pledging allegiance to Spirit Hall. They later formally became Meng Family vassals, although the wider alliance retained interests in Heaven Dou through Nangong Wan'er and Exotic Beast Academy 23 51 52.

Divine Inheritance and Political Leverage

Meng Qianqiu's parents had entered Slaughter City more than ten years before he learned their whereabouts. He eventually returned with his mother, Ye Chenxi, while his father, Meng Yunping, reunited with the family in Soul Spirit form. Ye Chenxi's prospective ascension as Slaughter God offered a means of reviving Meng Yunping 66 76.

The family then confronted Qian Daoliu with its divine backing and proposed cooperation between Slaughter City and Spirit Hall. Faced with the possibility of losing Meng Qianqiu and his relatives, Qian Daoliu offered to step down as Pope in Meng Qianqiu's favor 79 80.

Period of Withdrawal

After the Elite Selection Tournament, the family reduced its public activity. Meng Zhongqi and Nangong Wan'er traveled to Sea God Island to pursue the Sea God's Nine Trials, while Meng Qianqiu guarded and cultivated at the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well 86.

Their absence was publicly explained as long-term secluded cultivation. The allied families maintained the clan's businesses, and Dugu Feng and Dugu Xin assumed responsibility for Exotic Beast Academy alongside the other families' heads and elders 86 126.
