Ed secured the Hive Will’s cooperation, connected the sea of flowers to his territory, and prepared the Soul Returners to infiltrate Fir City. The first operation began with Howling Pothos entering a chapel as a disguised cleric after an explosion drew attention elsewhere.
Howling Pothos uncovered the plight of Fir City’s Living Woods and helped Enzo’s family escape to Valhalla. He returned toward Fir City to bring Enzo the news, while other players investigated the city and its dangers.
Players prepared a covert operation in Fir City while Clear Soup Master infiltrated the city as a treant. Ever-Changing Master Ye’s rat-catching enterprise overwhelmed the rescue budget, so Chocolate Ice Cream Scoop helped redirect the rats and frozen fish into a plan to create two controlled Rat Kings, leaving the convoy poised to act.
The Soul Returners attacked Fir City's churches with Rat Kings, evacuated the orphans, and spread fabricated stories about Antiya Lisi while gathering intelligence. Duma took over Marba and reorganized the approaching reinforcements, which entered Fir City as Ed prepared players to cooperate against stronger enemies.
Marba investigated the rebels, then led an army toward their suspected core while the Soul Returners escalated their attacks on Fir City. The game opened the city to players, and Willow arrived to strengthen the attackers before leaving to aid another town.
The Soul Returners fought their way into Fir City as Marba's Holy Crusaders pursued their own attack, while Ed and his allies turned the cathedral's victims into a new force. The arc left Motley charging Marba's troops as Duma, disguised as Marba, prepared to intervene.
Ed defeated Duma’s forces at Valhalla, then recruited Duma and learned the extent of his powers and history. As Ed and Duma traveled to Fir City, [Howling Pothos] fought Antiya Lisi while Adelaide refused to rescue him.
Ed and the Soul Returners defeated Antiya Lisi’s forces and took control of Fir City, then dealt with prisoners, fleeing officials, and the aftermath of the fighting. The arc ended with Enzo restored to human form and Ed learning how other races had grown stronger before the Demonic Tide.
Ed settled the aftermath of the Valhalla attack while the players investigated the Stained Ones and uncovered the origins of their test subjects. The investigation led through Fir City Cathedral’s dungeon to Howard, and Ed prepared Fir City to become the Second Holy See’s first line of defense.
Ed and Gray expanded the sale of mechanical arms as a blue dragon’s death sent psionic energy surging across both worlds. As the real-world team made contact with Ed and the coming threats gathered, Ed opened a new campaign for players and Seraphina inspected Gray’s custom wares.
Seraphina investigated her weakening poison and hired A Huan to train the Dragonborn, while players turned Bennett’s Blood Corpse lure into a plan to capture a vampire count. Soaring Clouds’s studio subdued Count Luoli and brought him to a cabin outside Valhalla, where Do Some Farm Work said his preparations were ready.
Ed launched the second phase of Great Adventurer, sending players to investigate Klaf City and support Duma’s campaign. After surviving a chaotic journey and locating the buried city, the players entered its underground streets and began exploring.
The players faced threats in Klaf City while Silvis sought his armor, and Duma’s forces routed the Holy Crusaders. Gray and Nora escaped a vast Blood Corpse horde when Antasia awakened, while the Klaf City party prepared to expand its search for Silvis’s armor.
Gray’s group headed for Klaf City while Xilǐ'er carried Noya in a sword, and Ed learned of Antasia through the Root Network. In Klaf City, the players and Willow confronted Muller, whose stolen lineage powers led Ed to identify Rosalind as the source of his Devouring ability.
Ed and his allies defeated and captured Muller, then found Silvis’s memories unreliable and Antos missing from his sealed chamber. Ed absorbed Rosalind’s True Blood, remade Muller as his subordinate, and learned how the grand dukes’ alliance and the attack on Klaf City had unfolded.
Ed investigated the Eternal Domain’s connection to the Amber Dragon and the King of Domination while bringing Noya into the Second Holy See. Meanwhile, Soul Returners infiltrated Black Pine City and helped Ginseng Rooster organize a militia as Archbishop Luorui'er secretly prepared to flee.
Ginseng Rooster turned Black Pine City’s unpaid militia against the clergy while Duma assembled a mass force of Soul Returners to attack. The Soul Returners broke through the north gate as Ginseng Rooster led the militia against the Fitz residence and the grand knight commander at the south gate.
Ed’s forces captured Black Pine City while the players built a mobile resurrection fortress and pursued the grand duke’s sealed grounds. The search in Klaf City uncovered Adelaide’s seal, and Ed prepared to break it as the Eternal Domain’s delegation headed south with Silvis.
Ed and the Soul Returners fought the Twin Kings, Margaret, and Cuiske as Adelaide’s seal broke and the grand duke revived. Ed rallied the players into Half-Treant Aggregates and brought forth Noya, who confronted Cuiske as the battle continued.
Ed defeated Adelaide, reached High Tier, and recovered memories revealing that he was the Creator behind the World Tree. He woke to a changed Klaf City, new duties, and debts he had little money to repay.
