"Whose leg did you break?"

A steady voice suddenly rang out from beside me.

The group of people shuddered and their eyes snapped toward the newcomer.

He was a middle-aged man who looked to be in his fifties, wearing a sharp suit with a striking gold tie clip at the collar, and his black hair, streaked with silver, was neatly combed back.

"Dad!" Huang Shaohua glanced at the visitor, then turned his gaze back.

Huang Wenbin glanced at Huang Shaohua, ignored him, and instead looked at Yellow Hair and his two companions.

Upon seeing Huang Wenbin looking over, the Yellow Hair, tall, thin thug, and fat thug immediately stood up straight.

"Uncle Huang!"

"Hmm!" Huang Wenbin nodded. " Yellow Hair, whose legs were you saying you were going to break?"

"Nobody, I just had a little argument with someone outside and wanted to teach him a lesson!" the Yellow Hair said with an awkward laugh.

"Is that so..."

Huang Wenbin said softly, his gaze calmly fixed on Yellow Hair.

The scene gradually quieted down; no one dared to speak, except for intermittent sounds from the gambling tables not far away.

Under Huang Wenbin's gaze, Yellow Hair's body gradually began to tremble.

"This... I..."

"Alright, I'm the one who told them to break someone's leg for me!" Huang Shaohua suddenly stood up.

"Whose leg should we break?" Huang Wenbin asked.

" Shen Heng, you should have heard of him, right?" Huang Shaohua looked directly into his father's eyes.

"I vaguely remember. Why did you break his leg for no reason?" Huang Wenbin pondered for a moment.

"He... I..."

Huang Shaohua opened his mouth, but in the end, he didn't say anything.

Huang Wenbin stared at Huang Shaohua for two seconds, then turned his gaze to Yellow Hair.

"Uncle Huang!" Yellow Hair called out.

"Let bygones be bygones. Don't listen to him and do that kind of thing. Also, even if Shaohua asks you to do it in private, don't help him!" Huang Wenbin said.

"Okay, okay!" the Yellow Hair quickly replied.

"And you guys too." Huang Wenbin turned his head and glanced at the tall, thin thug and the fat thug beside him.

"Okay, sure!" The tall, thin thug and the fat thug nodded quickly.

Seeing that the others agreed, Huang Wenbin turned his gaze to Huang Shaohua again.

"How's your preparation for what I asked you to do coming along?"

"I wasn't prepared," Huang Shaohua said impatiently.

"Why? Give me a reason!"

I don't want to be a civil servant.

"So what do you want to do?"

"Don't you know what I want to do?" Huang Shaohua looked up, his gaze fixed on Huang Wenbin.

The father and son stared at each other coldly.

"I don't know," Huang Wenbin said, enunciating each word clearly.

"Heh..." Huang Shaohua sneered, "Fine, then I'll say it again: I want to take over this casino, your company, and everything you own!"

"Didn't I tell you?" Huang Wenbin's gaze gradually turned cold.

"I did say that, of course I said that!" Huang Shaohua laughed loudly, "Isn't it just some shady stuff that could get us arrested at any time?"

"Since you know so much about this, why do you still want to take over these things!" Huang Wenbin said, his voice tinged with anger.

"Let me tell you, I don't care about any of that. So what if I get arrested? As long as I have money, I can do anything!" Huang Shaohua said disdainfully.

"Foolish!" Huang Wenbin glared angrily at Huang Shaohua. "Let me tell you, money is useless in this world, especially for people like us. If someone wants to get you, you can be bankrupt in an instant!"

"Ha... I'll kill him before I go bankrupt!" Huang Shaohua sneered.

"Kill someone? By what right? By the two fists in your hands? Who do you think you are?" Huang Wenbin roared angrily.

Huang Shaohua chuckled dismissively and turned his head away, clearly not taking Huang Wenbin's words to heart.

Huang Wenbin took a few deep breaths to calm himself down.

"Think about it carefully yourself. I'm doing this for your own good. You passed the civil service exam these past few years, and while I can still help you, I'll do my best to help you get to a higher position!"

Huang Shaohua didn't speak; he kept turning his head to look at the other side.

Huang Wenbin looked at his son intently for a few moments, then turned back to look at Yellow Hair and his gang.

"Keep an eye on things for him; you're not allowed to do any of the illegal or disorderly things he asks you to do!"

"Okay, okay!" the three of them quickly replied.

Seeing that the others agreed, Huang Wenbin took one last deep look at his son, then turned and slowly walked away.

After Huang Wenbin left, Huang Shaohua angrily sat down again.

Go get me a bottle of wine!

"Okay!" the fat thug replied, and then walked outside.

" Young Master Hua, don't be angry. Uncle Huang is only doing this for your own good!" The Yellow Hair pulled up a stool and sat down next to him.

"Ha... for my own good? I think he just wants me to climb higher so he can protect him in the future!" Huang Shaohua sneered.

Yellow Hair opened his mouth, wanting to say that even if he could climb to that position, Uncle Huang probably wouldn't last that long, but after thinking about it, he closed his mouth again.

" Yellow Hair, how about it? Still dare to do it?" Huang Shaohua looked at Yellow Hair with great interest.

"Haha... Let's forget about it. Uncle Huang already told us not to listen to you and do these illegal and disorderly things!" Yellow Hair chuckled.

Huang Shaohua snorted coldly and didn't say anything. He turned his head back and stared coldly ahead.

In the dim light, a shadow of gloom returned to his face.

Nobody knows what he's thinking...

Supervision Bureau, rest room.

Thirty thousand!

Han Ling threw down a card and glanced at Shen Heng sitting opposite her.

" Shen Heng, what brings you to play today? Aren't you going to cultivate?"

"Practice, practice later, I'm waiting for a teacher!" Shen Heng replied.

"Six of a kind!" Wu Cheng threw down a card. "Teacher, a weapon?"

"Hmm." Shen Heng drew a card, looked at it, and saw it was a "big circle" (a type of tile in Chinese astrology). "Useless," he discarded it. "Big circle."

"What weapon do you choose?" Han Ling asked Shen Heng with some curiosity.

"The knife I chose!" Shen Heng replied.

"A knife..." Han Ling nodded, offering no comment, just a standard nod.

Sitting to the side, Wu Cheng said with a hint of disappointment,

"Are you out of your mind? You don't even have any combat abilities to boost your skills, why would you choose an offensive weapon? Wouldn't it be better to choose a shield like me?"

"That's precisely why we need to choose an offensive weapon—we can't expect to hide behind a shield forever!" Shen Heng chuckled.

"Nine thousand!" Wei Leyang threw out a card, and just as he was about to say something, Han Ling suddenly shouted.

"Okay, I won!"

"Hiss... Why am I having such a bad day!" Wei Leyang gasped.

Five games were played tonight. Han Ling won three, and Wu Cheng and Shen Heng each won one. I didn't win a single game.

"Haha... Victory and defeat are common occurrences in war!" Han Ling laughed.

Shen Heng glanced at the time. "Alright, I'll go down now!"

"Aren't you going to play anymore?" Han Ling asked.

"No, my appointment is at 7:30, it'll be a few minutes from now!" Shen Heng shook his head.

"Sigh, alright!" Han Ling nodded with a hint of regret; her hands were still warm.

After leaving the lounge, Shen Heng went to the front desk on the first floor to wait.

He didn't have to wait long. A few minutes later, a young man with a gentle face, carrying a wooden box on his back, slowly walked in from the Supervision Bureau.
