Bang!

Shen Heng fell to the ground.

There was no other way; he had to dodge attacks while also finding angles to launch sneak attacks using the tentacles as cover. He was really struggling to stay on his feet.

Before he could stand up, Shen Heng's gaze quickly turned to the Decaying Spore Guard he had been targeting.

The Decaying Spore Guard was leaning back slightly, and there was a small hole below his head from which blood was flowing.

After confirming that he had indeed killed the Decaying Spore Guard in a sneak attack, Shen Heng's lips curled up slightly, not having time to think too much.

He quickly stood up, put his pistol away, and then, while pretending to cover the wound on his chest, quickly retreated.

Shen Heng only stood still after retreating more than twenty meters away.

He looked down at the wound on his chest.

A large tear was visible in the blue and white school uniform, the skin was slightly open, and bright red blood flowed out from the wound, staining the surrounding clothes red.

"Thankfully, no bones or internal organs were injured!" Shen Heng breathed a sigh of relief.

He slowly raised his hand, gathering his Origin Power in his palm and gently pressing it against the wound. Accompanied by a faint cooling sensation, the bleeding on his chest gradually decreased until it completely disappeared.

At this point, apart from still feeling pain, there were no other problems with the wound.

Of course, this doesn't mean he's healed. It just means that as long as there's no damage to bones or internal organs, it's enough that there's no bleeding. From now on, he just needs to be careful not to touch the wound.

Shen Heng slowly lowered his hand and looked up into the distance.

As one Decaying Spore Guard fell, another Decaying Spore Guard stood still for a moment before slowly turning around.

"Roar--!"

A piercing roar accompanied by a series of thuds as the Decaying Spore Guard charged toward Shen Heng.

Whoosh--!

The tentacles swept across the air.

Shen Heng quickly twisted his body to dodge the attack, while simultaneously moving his feet to increase the distance between himself and the Decaying Spore Guard as much as possible.

Although there's only one left, Second Tier being is still Second Tier being, not something I, a First Tier being, can easily fight head-on.

Bang! Bang! Bang!...

The tentacles landed repeatedly, stirring up clouds of dust.

Although Shen Heng kept increasing the distance between himself and the Decaying Spore Guard, he was only First Tier, and there were very few places around for him to go. The distance between them gradually closed.

Shen Heng leaned back slightly, dodging a tentacle that swept past him.

He then looked up at the Decaying Spore that were only a few meters away and still approaching, and frowned slightly.

The whip continued to flash in the air, accompanied by a series of thuds.

At a certain moment, Shen Heng suddenly raised his hand, and the pistol that had been put back into its holster reappeared in his left hand.

"Bang!"

Shen Heng gave a soft shout.

Having witnessed two of his companions being shot dead, the Decaying Spore Guard froze abruptly, its tentacles, which had been swinging in mid-air, retracting abruptly to protect its head.

Shen Heng stared at the scene before him, then pushed off with his foot and quickly retreated into the distance.

Two seconds later.

"Roar--!"

Realizing it had been tricked, the Decaying Spore Guard let out an angry roar.

The sound of rapid footsteps rang out again, Decaying Spore Guard frantically chased after Shen Heng's location, its whip flashing incessantly as it struck Shen Heng's position.

The two sides returned to their previous state, with one constantly closing in and attacking, and the other constantly dodging and pulling away.

30 meters! 20 meters! 10 meters!

Shen Heng raised his pistol once more.

However, this time the Decaying Spore Guard no longer believed it. Instead, he felt insulted, his irregularly shaped maw stretching open on the mushroom-hat's head.

"Roar--!"

A piercing roar erupted.

Shen Heng ignored it, quietly watching the Decaying Spore Guard rushing towards him, his tightly pursed lips slightly parted.

"Bang!"

A soft shout rang out.

As the Decaying Spore Guard had predicted, there was nothing there...

Boom--!

Flames burst forth, sparks swirling around.

A mushroom-shaped head suddenly exploded in front of Shen Heng's eyes.

The moment the light dissipated, the enormous mushroom head that had been atop the withered vine had completely vanished, and the remaining body tilted to the right under the force of the impact.

With a 'bang', the Decaying Spore Guard collapsed completely, leaving only Shen Heng standing alone.

Shen Heng slowly lowered his gun, staring at the three corpses of the Decaying Spore Guard lying scattered on the ground, and couldn't help but let out a long breath.

"This incident is finally coming to an end!"

In the distance, Han Ling adjusted her scope, shifting her target from the Decaying Spore Guard to a black-haired youth.

The young man seemed to notice and looked over, and then the other person's gentle voice came through the earpiece.

"Han Ling, thanks!"

Thinking of how the other party hadn't seemed surprised at all when the Decaying Spore Guard was blown to the head, Han Ling couldn't help but click her tongue in astonishment:

"Tsk, it's no fun playing with someone like you. I was hoping to give you a surprise!"

"It was quite a surprise. If it weren't for your shot, dealing with him later would have been quite troublesome!" Shen Heng chuckled, then asked, "What about the others?"

Han Ling pursed her lips, clearly unimpressed by Shen Heng's surprise.

"Wei Leyang should already be searching for the remaining Spore Person at your school. The captain and Wu Cheng are on their way! I have to get going too!"

Shen Heng looked in the direction Han Ling was in and saw a figure leap down from a building in the distance. After landing, the figure disappeared from sight because it was blocked by other objects. However, Shen Heng could still hear Han Ling running straight towards him from that direction.

He turned and glanced at the rest of the school, then listened carefully.

Two heavy, powerful, and rapid footsteps were approaching their direction; it should be the captain and Wu Cheng; as for Wei Leyang...

at the same time.

In a passageway within the school.

Several students were frantically fleeing forward, with a Spore Person chasing after them.

As the distance between the two sides continued to close, suddenly, a thin but extremely strong thread flashed through the air, and with a 'whoosh' sound, the Spore Person fell to the ground.

The group, noticing the commotion, gradually stopped and turned to look behind them.

Behind them, someone had appeared out of nowhere. He was wearing a white T-shirt and black sweatpants, and what was more noticeable was the bandage wrapped around his hand and the snapping gesture he was making.

The group glanced down at the Spore Person lying on the ground, then looked up at the figure.

"Excuse me, may I ask who you are...?"

They thought for a moment, seemingly unsure how to address each other, when finally, one of them remembered a comic book he had once seen and blurted out:

Are you a hero?

As soon as the words were spoken, the figure who was about to leave suddenly stopped in his tracks.

After standing still for a moment, he quickly turned around and spoke rapidly.

"A hero? I'm no hero, I'm just a guy who likes to weave fate..."
