A bunch of pitiful ants
The men readily agreed as well.
After all, according to Young Master Bai,
Lin Tian was merely a somewhat formidable Body Opening Realm cultivator.
Once Young Master Bai put in a few good words for them with Hongyu,
then, when they fought over the Sub-Pill in a few days,
Hongyu would not target them either.
Knock, knock, knock.
Young Master Bai walked up to the gate and knocked lightly a few times.
Creak.
The courtyard gate opened.
At the sight of the visitors, Ling Qiuzi visibly showed fear.
"Miss Ling, is Lin Tian here?"
Young Master Bai asked with a smile.
Ling Qiuzi froze for a moment, then shook her head.
"Young Master Lin isn't here."
"Not here?"
Young Master Bai frowned, then sneered.
"Do you take me for a fool?"
Ling Qiuzi's expression stiffened, and she explained,
"Young Master Lin has been in seclusion. Please don't disturb him."
At her words, Young Master Bai understood at once.
So Lin Tian had not come out for over ten days because he was in seclusion.
But what did that have to do with him?
Hongyu wanted him to bring Lin Tian over.
If he waited until Lin Tian emerged from seclusion, wouldn't he be courting death?
"Step aside. I'll go in and have a few words with Young Master Lin."
Young Master Bai spoke with an easy smile.
Ling Qiuzi's expression grew somewhat strained, but she still gritted her teeth and said,
"Please leave. Young Master Lin is in seclusion and must not be distur-"
Bam!
Before Ling Qiuzi could finish, a sharp pain shot through her abdomen.
Young Master Bai kicked her entire body flying.
Pfft!
She spat out a mouthful of blood and clutched her stomach, her face deathly pale.
"Bitch, who said you had a choice?"
Young Master Bai sneered, then led the five men beside him into the courtyard.
"Big Sister!"
Seeing Ling Qiuzi fall, Qingcheng dropped the pig's trotter in her hand and hurried over to her.
"Heh heh, you're living pretty well."
A fifth-level Mystic Pill Realm cultivator casually picked up a piece of Demon Pig meat from the basin and gnawed on it.
Young Master Bai walked into the garden and addressed the house with its tightly shut door.
"Young Master Lin, my lord requests your presence."
"My lord is in the Void Penetration Realm. As you know, your repeated rejection of my lord's goodwill has made things very difficult for me."
"My lord has also been a little displeased these past few days. I hope you can do me the courtesy of coming with me, Young Master Lin."
His voice rang out clearly. Once he finished, he waited for Lin Tian's reply.
But even after a long wait, Lin Tian gave no response at all.
"Young Master Bai, let's just force our way in."
"He really doesn't know what's good for him. Lady Hongyu favors him, yet he still plays coy."
"Exactly. If Lady Hongyu took a fancy to me, I'd wake up laughing in my dreams."
"Let's just seize him and hand him over to Lady Hongyu, so Young Master Bai can breathe a sigh of relief."
Behind Young Master Bai, the cultivators offered their remarks.
They seemed to be growing impatient.
"You bad guys! You hurt Big Sister!"
A childish voice rang out. Qingcheng ran up to a cultivator on her short legs and kept pounding him with her little fists.
"Qingcheng! Come back! Pfft!"
Seeing this from where she lay on the ground, Ling Qiuzi hurriedly cried out in alarm.
She struggled to her feet, only for something metallic and sweet to trickle into her throat.
She spat out another mouthful of blood.
"If you're naughty, little girl, Uncle will get angry."
The cultivator sneered and grabbed Qingcheng by the head.
Then he lifted her up.
As pain struck, Qingcheng's eyes instantly filled with tears, but she still punched the man in the face several times.
"Little girl, are you tickling Uncle because you want him to crush your little head?"
The man spoke with a smile, a trace of bloodlust lurking in his eyes.
"Let her go!"
Ling Qiuzi screamed.
"Noisy!"
An icy voice came from inside the room.
Everyone started in alarm, but before they could react,
the man holding Qingcheng suddenly stiffened.
He stared blankly at his heart, where a bloody line had appeared without his noticing.
"N-no way!"
As he shouted, a sudden chill swept through the arm holding Qingcheng.
A flash of sword light severed it.
Then several cracks appeared across his entire body.
Under everyone's shocked gazes, the man became a heap of chunks.
Ling Qiuzi, who had rushed over, paled and hurriedly covered Qingcheng's eyes.
Crack!
The man died instantly.
The runic formation in the sky suddenly turned so vivid it seemed about to drip.
It seemed to have already aimed at the top of Lin Tian's head, poised to strike.
"How can he be so powerful?!"
"He actually dared to kill someone outright!"
Everyone paled in shock, never expecting Lin Tian to strike so viciously.
At this point, Young Master Bai's face had also turned deathly pale.
Clearly, Lin Tian's strength was even more terrifying than when he had last seen him.
Then he gritted his teeth and said to the men behind him,
"Gentlemen, now is the time for you to act. I'll certainly do my part!"
The remaining four wore conflicted expressions, momentarily at a loss.
"A bunch of pitiful ants."
Lin Tian's voice rang out again.
A streak of azure light suddenly appeared.
Everyone started in alarm. It was a sword.
Like an azure dragon gliding through the courtyard, wherever its edge passed, a murderous chill instantly surged.
"This is bad! Run!"
A Mystic Pill Realm cultivator was horrified, as though facing a formidable enemy.
But before he could escape, excruciating pain shot through his legs.
The sword light had severed both legs outright.
"Bai Hui, you've doomed me!"
One man roared as both his arms were cut off.
"Aaah! Don't kill me!"
Young Master Bai was terrified to the extreme. His mind went blank, leaving only the obsession with escape.
He had never imagined that Lin Tian could be so powerful.
Swish!
A flash of sword light swept across his knees.
As he fled, he instantly toppled, two severed lower legs dropping to the ground.
Just like Young Master Bai,
the others all collapsed to the ground, wailing, severed limbs scattered beside them.
Pools of blood spread.
Ling Qiuzi watched the scene in horror, her delicate body trembling.
She covered Qingcheng's eyes and ears.
It was as though she had once again recalled Lin Tian fighting several Body Opening Realm cultivators alone over ten days ago.
Back then, Lin Tian had been so savage and bloodthirsty.
Now, Lin Tian had not even shown himself.
With nothing but a sword, he had slashed the others into such a state.
Such strength was far too terrifying.
Could Lin Tian have been hiding his strength all those days?
Or had Lin Tian gained this strength through his cultivation over the past few days?
No!
Ling Qiuzi dared not think about it.
Neither possibility was something she could presume to fathom.
"You may leave, but clean this place up first."
Lin Tian's voice rang out again, sounding much calmer this time.
Yet it carried an imposing force that allowed no defiance.
The Heavenly Sword had already flown back into the house.
Apart from Young Master Bai and the others with their mutilated bodies,
and the runic formation that had suddenly halted just as it was poised to strike,
everything seemed as though it had never happened.
Young Master Bai and the others were deathly pale, despair already filling their hearts.
Blood Town was already extremely dangerous.
Now that their bodies were maimed, how would they survive from now on?
Grief and regret surged through their hearts.
They gritted their teeth and gathered up the severed limbs from the ground.
Half an incense stick later, the courtyard fell quiet again.
A pill flew out of Lin Tian's house.
"This happened because of me, and you suffered an undeserved calamity. This is a Body-Healing Pill. You'll be fine after taking it."
"Thank you, Young Master."
Ling Qiuzi caught the pill, her eyes filled with complicated feelings.
"Big Sister, are you all right?"
Qingcheng asked worriedly. Seeing Ling Qiuzi shake her head, she obediently went inside.
Though she was still young,
the large patches of blood in the courtyard told her what had happened.
A trace of awe toward Lin Tian involuntarily arose in her heart.
