Candor
After speaking, Obanai lowered her eyelids and stopped talking, appearing somewhat cold.
The Kaburamaru on his neck seemed to sense that its companion was not in a good mood. It turned its head to face him, its tongue flicking out as it licked his cheek.
Teiichi at Obanai a few times, but didn't offer much comment.
Obanai probably torn between believing she did nothing wrong and the fact that over fifty members of her family died because of her. If that were all, it wouldn't be so bad.
Unfortunately, Kyojuro's father, Shinjuro, also passed by on that day, meaning that if Obanai hadn't run away that day, the members of that family might not have died.
But their actions made Obanai believe that their deaths were not unjust.
A multitude of reasons have combined to create his current state of great turmoil.
Simply put, he believed he hadn't done anything wrong, but the reality of dozens of people dying because of him told him that he had indeed done something wrong.
Therefore, Teiichi can't comment too much, since reality can't be changed, and people's ideas aren't so easily changed.
A silence fell over the room for a long time. Then Gyomei Himejima clasped his hands together and said with some sorrow:
"Amitabha... This can be considered the sins they have committed against that family over the past few hundred years!"
Thus, Obanai Iguro's story came to an end, Teiichi turned his attention to the next person.
"Damn it! Why are you looking at me like that? I have nothing to say!" Sanemi said, frowning Teiichi looked at her.
"Hey! Shinazugawa, everyone else has said it, why didn't you?! This isn't flashy at all!" Tengen Uzui said.
"I didn't have anything to say to begin with, what do you want me to say?" Sanemi retorted stubbornly.
"Tell me how you joined the Demon Slayer Corps!"
"I just happened to run into a member of the Demon Slayer Corps while I was slaying demons, and that's how I joined! What's there to say about that?" Sanemi muttered.
"No, you must have a lot of stories, right? I still remember the scene when you first came here, pointing at the Master!" Tengen Uzui continued.
"Huh? Do you think I wanted this? Back then, I didn't know about Master's situation. Anyone would feel uncomfortable if they were risking their lives fighting demons outside and then saw someone else sitting there reaping the benefits, right?" Sanemi retorted.
"Hmm, putting myself in his shoes, if I were really facing the situation Shinazugawa described, I might think the same way! After all, fairness is essential to maintaining everything!" Kyojuro said after a moment's thought.
"So it seems you really don't have anything to say?" Tengen Uzui raised his hand and rubbed his chin a few times.
"There's nothing to say anyway!" Sanemi snorted.
"No, you yourself said that you met members of the Demon Slayer Corps while hunting demons and then joined them. So what made you embark on the path of demon hunting without meeting any members of the Demon Slayer Corps?" Teiichi asked slowly.
Upon hearing this, Sanemi Shinazugawa frowned and glanced at him, his eyes fixed on Teiichi. After a moment, he turned his head and said in a deep voice:
"Nothing!"
"No, no, no! There must be a story behind this, right?" Tengen Uzui said.
"Nonsense, mind your own business!" Sanemi hissed.
"Ah, that's not frank enough! It's not elegant at all, Shinazugawa!" Tengen Uzui said helplessly.
"If you really have something you can't say, you don't have to. We're not forcing you!" Kanae said softly.
"Amitabha..." Gyomei Himejima hands together and slowly chanted the Buddha's name.
"Damn it! There's nothing I can't say!"
Sanemi's lips twitched slightly, and he said:
"Simply put, I have seven children, and I'm the eldest. We have a short-tempered father and a gentle mother!"
"No wonder you're so irritable, it turns out you inherited it from your father?" Uzui said with great interest.
"Stop nagging! Are you going to listen to me or not?"
"Listen to me, tell me!"
Sanemi snorted coldly and continued:
"My father was stabbed to death by enemies when I was young, and then my mother was left to raise us seven siblings all by herself!"
"Until one day, because my mother hadn't come back, I went out to look for her!"
"I never imagined that when I got home, all my younger siblings would have been killed by ghosts!"
At this point, Sanemi gritted his teeth, his eyes widening involuntarily, as if he had returned to that day.
"In my rage, I lost my mind and rushed up to fight the ghost!"
"It wasn't until we fought our way outside, and by the moonlight, that I realized the ghost was actually my mother!"
"Overwhelmed with grief, I had no choice but to continue fighting with my mother through tears. With the help of my Marechi, I managed to stall until my mother passed out from the effects of my Marechi!"
"And so I stood there, watching the sun shine on my mother, slowly turning her to ashes..."
"Huh? How could this be?... "Mitsuri covered her mouth slightly, finding it hard to accept.
"These demons really love this kind of hell!" Shinobu Kocho said angrily, her brows furrowed.
"Indeed, the mother and son were driven to kill each other by demons. No wonder Mr. Shinazugawa hates demons so much!" Kyojuro nodded in agreement.
Teiichi looked at Sanemi, thought for a moment, and said:
There's a member on the team named Genya Shinazugawa, whose name differs from yours by only one character. Don't tell me he has nothing to do with you!
Upon hearing this, Sanemi realized something was amiss and immediately glared at him angrily.
"Huh? Is there another member in the team with that name?" Mitsuri turned her head and looked at Teiichi with a puzzled expression.
"Yes! In the same year as Tanjiro and the others!" Teiichi.
All eyes turned to Sanemi once again.
"Hey, Shinazugawa! Didn't you say your brothers and sisters were all killed? You clearly said that, but you only told half of it. You really aren't being frank!" Tengen Uzui said.
Sanemi's lips twitched slightly, and he insisted:
"We have nothing to do with each other anymore; he's no longer my brother!"
"Hmm? Why is that?" Shinobu Kocho asked, frowning.
"I saved him from my mother who had turned into a demon, and he still dared to curse me. What's the point of having a brother like that?" Sanemi, sounding both self-righteous and indignant.
"How could you say that? He's your own brother after all, and he probably didn't even know what ghosts were back then. Couldn't you have just explained it later?" Shinobu Kocho said, frowning.
"Mmm-hmm!" Mitsuri nodded repeatedly.
