An Unexpected Turn and a Surprise Attack
Inside the curry shop, adhering to the principle of not wasting food, Ciel devoured two bowls of seasonal curry pork chop rice in ten minutes. If the shop owner hadn't been given a hint, Ciel would have set a new record for the shop's biggest eater after today.
Although the previous record was also set by Ciel, defeating one's past self is also a victory.
"Phew, that was satisfying. The only downside is that Bai Mo likes sweet things. I even chose the same sweet flavor for him because I thought of him." Ciel used a spoon to scoop up the last bit of curry. The two plates, each big enough to hold a whole suckling pig, were spotless, as if they had just been washed.
"However, Arcueid didn't cause any trouble, so it seems the problem is resolved?" Looking at the peaceful city, Ciel wiped her mouth with a napkin. Just as she was about to drink a full cup of hot barley tea, a sudden change occurred!
She sensed a powerful force, a strange heat surging from the city, and blue flames shooting into the sky.
"How is this possible? There was no movement at all before. Could there be a traitor in the Church?" Ciel suppressed the shock and unease in his heart. This power was undoubtedly that of a powerful Dead Apostle, or even possibly a Grandmaster-level combatant.
But why? The current situation in the Misaki is like a tense standoff between two armies, where the slightest movement could trigger a major battle. Roa hasn't fully reincarnated yet, so why would the Dead Apostle suddenly act?
It has absolutely nothing to do with the Dead Apostle, and it wasn't part of their plan.
"Hey, what's going on? How come an ancestor has made a direct move?" Down underground, the Black Knight Strout also sensed the power unique to the Principle Blood Ring, and there was no way he was wrong.
Brad shrugged and said, "It was an accident, no doubt about it. But perhaps we can use this accident to our advantage. If we can use it to eliminate the princess, this uncertain factor, the rest of the plan will go much more smoothly."
The Black Knight Strout nodded, tacitly agreeing to the suggestion. He then turned to the orange-haired woman sitting beside him and said, "Our lord may need that human. We don't want to get our hands dirty in this matter."
The orange-haired woman rubbed her hair, then readily agreed, "Sure, I'm quite interested in that little guy anyway, and the latest experimental subject is progressing well, so let's give it a try."
Both sides were calculating and paying close attention to this sudden change, and now, this change was directly attacking Arcueid and Bai Mo.
Arcueid, who was in a good mood because of Bai Mo's bizarre multiplication-by-two algorithm, was completely unaware of the danger. Perhaps it was because her physical condition was too bad. By the time she realized what was happening, the inhuman giant lance was already close at hand.
The expected sound of flesh tearing did not occur; the attack, which could bring even a train to a sudden stop, could not advance an inch. The sharp tip of the spear was now being casually grasped by a hand.
"Lost consciousness? A brain like a walking corpse, so it doesn't emanate any thoughts? But it's still coming for Arcueid." Bai Mo spread his hands, and the charging knight flew out like a cannonball.
"Ancestor? No, he can't withstand the curse of the Principle Blood Ring at all. Has he already lost his mind?" Arcueid was protected behind Bai Mo. Although she had just been in a good mood, she now had to put her mind at ease.
Just as Arcueid finished speaking, the sound of flames rose like ocean waves, and from the crater that had been blasted away, azure flames surged toward Bai Mo. The momentum was vast and magnificent, like a river formed of fire.
"Be careful! These flames will steal your life force and heat! Don't touch them directly!" Arcueid said anxiously, looking at the motionless Bai Mo. But Bai Mo only glanced in one direction, waved his hand, and a gust of wind instantly blew up.
"Using such a move in a place like this, you should know when to stop." Azure flames instantly gathered in Bai Mo's hand, forming an azure fireball. Before the attack was even finished, Bai Mo's figure moved like a ghost, incredibly fast, striking the enemy's chest with a single blow.
Heavenly Martial Killing Way - the Life-Severing Way!
Bai Mo could clearly sense that the flames in front of him were fueled by the blood stored in this guy's body. Although it was impossible for him to spill any flames with his own power, Bai Mo obviously didn't want to take any risks. This was a busy urban area, and even a single spark could turn a person into ashes.
Therefore, the Life-Severing Way directly cut off the fuel in his body.
With a whoosh, the vampire in front of him felt a sudden emptiness, but at the same time, his eyes regained some clarity. On the other side, Bai Mo felt something strange; Life-Severing Way seemed to have grasped something else.
Ignoring everything else, Bai Mo directly channeled his power, and the crimson blood, as thin as silk threads, was extracted.
"Ah!" The vampire let out a terrible scream, causing birds in the air to fall. But facing this guy who was about to wreak havoc in the city, Bai Mo had no intention of holding back.
On the other side, Arcueid was also stunned, because what Bai Mo Life-Severing Way had extracted was none other than a large part of the Principle Blood Ring!
She knew all too well what this thing meant; the key to why the Ancestor was called the Ancestor was this very thing. This blood flowed through her body, containing the power to rewrite the laws of planetary physics.
And now, this thing was just pulled out alive by Bai Mo.
Just as Bai Mo was preparing to finish off the guy with his next attack, Arcueid also sensed the presence of the enemy.
"Anything else!? Seriously, how many ancestors are there in this city?! Has that guy Ciel already choked to death on curry?" Lacking strength, Arcueid could only dodge the attacks from the enemies behind him.
It was a spider- Dead Apostle, with a bizarre appearance, like a monster that had escaped from some evil biological laboratory.
However, dodging is an unnecessary action.
Without her noticing the movement of the air, a figure so fast it was impossible to catch had already moved a step ahead of her. The cannonballs fired by the Spider Dead Apostle were directly shattered. Bai Mo was like a swordfish in the deep sea, the air around him turning into indestructible blades under his power.
Bai Mo had noticed the presence of this Dead Apostle from the very beginning; he had spotted it with just a glance. However, to Bai Mo, this thing was nothing more than an insect that he could crush at any moment.
With a series of swift, swift cuts, the spider- Dead Apostle's limbs were sliced open like butter. Then, Bai Mo grabbed the monster's head, and in an instant, the spider- Dead Apostle let out a piercing scream as its brain was scooped out with a spoon. Images flashed before Bai Mo's eyes; though incomplete, they revealed where the creature had come from.
Meanwhile, underground, the Black Knight Strout felt a chill run down his spine. This feeling of being watched was filled with the biting dread of death. His intuition told him that death's invitation had been delivered to his door.
"We've been exposed! That guy has found us!" Strout stood up and prepared to leave, with Brad following closely behind.
"Hey, are you guys going to abandon me?" the orange-haired woman protested, but the two men ignored her. They weren't going to make a move yet; there were bigger plans for the city, and they couldn't afford to get involved.
"There's nothing I can do. You saw it yourself; this isn't even the case with the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception anymore. This guy is obviously terrifyingly strong. I'm afraid only Cathy Palug can deal with him using her powers. So, that's it for now. I advise you to leave this country as soon as possible," Brad said carelessly.
On the battlefield, Bai Mo had obtained everything he wanted. Then he tore open the spider- Dead Apostle's maw and placed the sphere of azure flames that had just gathered inside.
"Ribbit!!!" The spider- Dead Apostle apostle struggled violently, then with a thud, it died.
Bai Mo casually tossed aside the remains and instantly appeared in front of the vampire. Arcueid, who was standing to the side, saw Bai Mo's combat power. Although she knew from the beginning that he was extremely powerful, when she actually fought alongside him, a strong sense of security and the melancholy of only being able to stand behind him welled up in her heart.
"Cough, cough, wait." The vampire stood up, and only then could we truly see his appearance: long white hair and blood flowing down his pale face.
On the other side, Ciel, who had just arrived, was also somewhat bewildered. He had clearly sensed the Ancestral's aura earlier, but he hadn't expected the battle to seem to be over in just a few dozen seconds.
