Great Saber
A bolt of lightning streaked across the sky, and Bai Mo arrived in a forest, lost his footing, and fell.
Bai Mo said, "Ouch! Is this the other world the system mentioned? Judging by this slope, I seem to be in a mountain forest."
At that moment, Bai Mo was on just such a mountain, with steep cliffs, scarcely any sign of people, and nothing but countless towering trees. Bai Mo had no sense of direction. If his luck was bad, he might never leave this mountain, either starving to death or filling a wild beast's belly.
Bai Mo said, "Um, system, now that I'm in another world, what am I supposed to do? I have absolutely nothing right now. I might not even make it off this mountain."
Ding! All the system can currently provide the host with is the most basic electric current push and a training space. Time spent in the training space does not correspond to time in reality, but you must calm your mind and focus to enter. The rest will depend on your own efforts.
Bai Mo did not complain. If anything, his eyes lit up at the mention of electric current push. As a longtime fan of magnetic field lunatics, Bai Mo knew magnetic field power very well. It could practically be called omnipotent. Although electric current push could not make him invincible yet, 160,000 horsepower was enough to survive a nuclear bomb. Besides, magnetic field power could even conjure up bread, so he would never starve.
The system said, "Host, could you have a little ambition? Those magnetic field powerhouses all dream of ruling the world. Why are you acting like a little goldfish?"
Bai Mo said, "All I have right now is electric current push! What if I don't act like a little goldfish and someone kills me?"
After that, the system fell silent, as though Bai Mo had left it speechless.
Bai Mo said, "All right, I'll try entering the training room first."
He sat down cross-legged and began meditating. It took Bai Mo several hours to calm his mind and focus. Another hour later, he felt the world spin around him, vanished instantly from where he had been, and arrived somewhere else.
It was a beach, with golden sand and an endless sea. Bai Mo gazed at the ocean, momentarily lost in a daze. In the distance, he could see dolphins leaping out of the water. In that instant, Bai Mo understood, and he also understood why Sea Tiger loved the sea so much.
Half a month passed. Bai Mo was still gradually adapting to electric current push. By now, he could already perform some basic feats of strength: shattering rocks, leaping a hundred meters, and even staying motionless underwater while holding his breath for an hour.
Bai Mo said, "Good. This much strength should be enough for me to get out of that mountain forest alive."
Emerging from the water, he leaped straight onto land. Bai Mo was ready to leave, but the system did not let him go as he wished. As Bai Mo tried sitting in meditation to relax again, the system's voice rang out.
"The host's training has not yet reached the level required to leave the training space, so you cannot leave."
Bai Mo said, "There are requirements? Come on, you never mentioned that before I came in."
"Ding! Because the host is far too pathetic. This training space has an overseer. Whether the host can leave depends entirely on the overseer's permission. You cannot leave before receiving permission, and once you leave, you cannot enter this overseer's space again."
Bai Mo said, "An overseer? I've been here for half a month. Where's this overseer?"
"Ding! There is one. The host is simply too weak, so he cannot be bothered to appear."
Bai Mo was speechless. What kind of nonsense was this? But all he could do was try to find this overseer. Sure enough, just as expected, he found nothing.
Bai Mo said, "Come on, big guy, at least tell me exactly how far I need to train! Don't do this!"
Just as Bai Mo finished speaking, a black iron blade blank flew out of the sea. It had no cutting edge, but it was nearly two meters long and as wide as a thigh. Cast entirely from heavy black iron, its weight was apparent from a glance. Though it stood on the beach, the pounding waves could not move it in the slightest.
A sentence was written on the blade blank: "Train with this blade. Only when you can cleave the sea and break the waves may you leave."
Bai Mo tried to grasp the blade, but a moment's carelessness sent the heavy blade toppling straight down, pinning him so hard he could barely breathe. He tried to push it away with his own strength, but the blade blank was clearly heavier than he had expected. An hour passed, and he still could not lift it. Instead, one careless slip left him pinned beneath it. With his strength exhausted, he would need some time to catch his breath no matter what, but for some reason, the waves suddenly surged over him.
Bai Mo said, "Urgh, cough, cough."
Caught off guard, Bai Mo swallowed a great mouthful of seawater as a wave crashed over him. But now was not the time to worry about the seawater entering his mouth and nose. Like a cheetah charging at the sight of prey, the waves kept rushing toward him. It had clearly not been like this before, yet now it was happening. Without any warning, the sea rose in a massive tide, and now, if he could not get away quickly...
This blade would be the cage that held him underwater and drowned him.
Bai Mo said, "Damn it... am I really going to die like such a loser?"
Salty, briny, bitter seawater kept pouring into Bai Mo's mouth. No matter how hard he strained, the thousand-jin blade blank did not budge. Yet the power of electric current push crawled along like a tortoise, unable to move it no matter what he did.
The sea had risen, and Bai Mo was submerged. He had only one last breath. If he did not escape this desperate situation before that breath ran out...
There was only death.
Closing his eyes, Bai Mo began to relax. He was not accepting his fate; he was preparing to fight for his life.
I've already obtained magnetic field power, only to die in a training space... I don't want to give up. No matter what, I refuse to accept dying like a clown. Power, power!
Bai Mo roared inwardly, clenching his teeth so hard they nearly cracked. Enduring the pain, he opened his eyes. Pain immediately shot through them, an intensely sharp sting, and that pain was the final push Bai Mo needed.
Above the surface, a pair of hands lifted the enormous blade blank. Those hands looked so tiny compared with it, but Bai Mo lifted it. Then he rose out of the seawater, coughing painfully before vomiting.
"Barely passable."
A man's voice rang out. Bai Mo opened his eyes. His seawater-soaked eyes could not see, but he made out a giantlike figure. Rubbing his eyes, Bai Mo finally saw clearly.
Bai Mo said, "Gwah! It's-it's the Great Blade Martial God, the one Bai Wunan gave a three-move handicap!"
No sooner had he finished speaking than a wave knocked Bai Mo down.
