A leader's duties
In the forest, Bai Mo naturally saw the group of the Uesugi Clan members, as well as the white-haired girl at the head. At this moment, she also cast a curious glance at Bai Mo, while on the other side, Chiyome looked distressed.
Since obtaining the Magnetic Field Power, Chiyome has had no worries about strength, at least. Even when simply using Electric Current Push herself in ninjutsu combat, she can easily kill heavily armored cavalry like tearing paper.
It wasn't until she encountered this enemy that she realized what it meant to be outmatched and to be in a world beyond our understanding.
"Anyone else? A pharmacist?"
"Uesugi Kenshin, he's not a warrior, he's just a doctor," Chiyome said. At this point, she could only hope that Uesugi Kenshin would spare Bai Mo from the conflict, considering that Bai Mo was just an ordinary person.
Bai Mo, however, seemed oblivious to the tense atmosphere. He heard Chiyome's words but merely looked at Uesugi Kenshin with a subtle gaze.
"Don't look at her! What if she spots you?" Chiyome whispered to Bai Mo. She had Uesugi Kenshin wouldn't mind, but now that he was staring at her so intently, it was impossible for her not to notice!
However, Kenshin, on the other side, tilted his head in a rather adorable way and said to Bai Mo:
"Hmm? Is there something on my face?"
"Nothing much. So Uesugi Kenshin is a woman? That's a bit of a surprise." Looking at the dashing young woman before him, Bai Mo couldn't help but think to himself:
Yes, King Arthur, Kawakami Gensai, and Oda Nobunaga could all be women, so why couldn't Uesugi Kenshin be a woman? My thinking is still too old-fashioned.
Speaking of which, this guy's face looks a lot like Artoria and Gensai. I didn't notice it before, but the more I look at him, the more he looks like them.
Upon hearing Bai Mo's words, Uesugi Kenshin smiled easily and said:
"I see. Indeed, some people think I'm a man. After all, I utterly defeated Takeda Shingen; it's hard to believe I'm a woman."
Watching the two chatting so amiably, Chiyome suddenly felt like she had been left out. But the brief conversation quickly ended, Kenshin raised his sharp blade, pointing it directly at Chiyome, and said:
"Alright, let's get down to business first, Miss Ninja. We failed to kill you before under the cover of the Takeda Clan cavalry. What are you going to do this time?"
Oh, pharmacist, could you please pretend you didn't see that? Since we had a good chat, I can treat you to roast pork after this is all over.
Bai Mo did not leave, and asked himself in his heart:
This guy doesn't look like an ordinary person. Does he have the residual aura of that system?
"No, not even a trace of aura, not even the slightest bit."
Upon hearing Bai Wunan's answer, Bai Mo averted his gaze.
At this moment, Chiyome no longer paid attention to her surroundings. Now that Uesugi Kenshin had spoken, there was no need to worry about Bai Mo's safety. Her breathing became rapid, her heartbeat quickened, and her pupils slightly contracted.
Just as her fighting spirit reached its peak, a hand patted her shoulder, instantly extinguishing it.
"Why are you still here?" Chiyome looked at Bai Mo in disbelief. He hadn't left at all; in fact, he had come right up to her side.
"It's your turn to leave." Bai Mo patted her shoulder, looking at the Mochizuki Leader who had been forced into this situation, Bai Mo sighed inwardly.
Well, those Mochizuki ninjas have been somewhat polite lately, so I'll teach her how to be a proper leader. After all, once I leave my mark, she'll still have to be my leader.
If she doesn't do a good job, it's the children who will suffer.
Bai Mo said to Chiyome:
"To the Mochizuki Clan, which is more important, a physician or the leader of the Mochizuki Clan? Think about it carefully. What will happen to your family if you die?"
They will be wiped out, and many people will die.
His words struck Chiyome like a heavy hammer blow to her heart. Chiyome knew very well that her only way out was to let Bai Mo distract Kenshin, so that she would have a slim chance to escape.
She has to leave. If she dies here, the Mochizuki Clan, which has been constantly at odds with the Takeda Clan, will surely be wiped out, and their fate will be dire.
As the leader, she absolutely could not die here; she had to get back alive, no matter the cost.
But as Chiyome, she felt she should die here, and shouldn't let the person who had always helped her, the person who came here because of her, die.
After a while, Chiyome raised her head and looked at Bai Mo's calm gaze. Unconsciously, she had bitten her lip until it bled, and a trickle of blood flowed from the corner of her mouth.
Seeing Bai Mo standing before him, Kenshin's interest intensified. The soldiers beside him secretly gripped their bows, preparing to deal with this ordinary man and contribute to Kenshin's merit.
But under Kenshin's cold gaze, the soldier slowly lowered his bow, and then she smiled:
"That's quite courageous, Doctor, but how can you let this female ninja escape?"
"This isn't a battlefield. I don't think Uesugi Kenshin would refuse a duel request from an ordinary person. And don't talk like you've already won."
Bai Mo said calmly. Hearing this, Kenshin thought for a few seconds, then scratched his head and smiled helplessly:
"Indeed, if Uesugi Kenshin didn't dare to duel head-on, his reputation would be ruined. Oh dear, duels aren't like battlefields; there are many rules. Ninja-san, it seems you're very lucky."
As for what Bai Mo said next, not to mention Kenshin, no one present listened to him.
Upon hearing Kenshin's words, Chiyome lowered her head and saw several crystalline substances fall.
Looking at Chiyome, Bai Mo couldn't help but think to himself: Why is she crying? How can a leader be so fragile? It's just running away, isn't it? Is her pride really that strong?
"Let's go, I'll be fine. You're the leader of those people, right? Stop being so indecisive."
Hearing these words that seemed to be telling her to leave, Chiyome turned and left without looking back, moving extremely fast, as if she were fleeing something.
Watching Chiyome leave, Kenshin raised his sword to stop the group of soldiers who were about to give chase, and said to Bai Mo:
"Alright, now it's our turn. Although I'm very interested in you, this is a life-or-death duel, and there's no holding back." Kenshin jumped in front of Bai Mo, his eyes blazing with fierce fighting spirit, and Bai Mo also felt a sense of familiarity with him.
This feeling of peace is Zen.
Bai Mo looked up at the sky; it would be noon soon. He said, "Let's finish quickly; I still need to prepare lunch for someone."
With his hands behind his back, he exuded a Zen-like aura. Kenshin's eyes narrowed, and the corners of his mouth involuntarily curved upwards.
"You actually misjudged me! You're really something else. I'm getting fired up! I'm going for it!"
Uesugi Kenshin did not draw his weapon; instead, he pulled the ropes connecting his armor. Lowering his center of gravity, he moved with the ferocity of a white tiger descending a mountain.
The soldiers behind him all looked on with sympathy. Although they acknowledged that the man in front of them was a real man, they thought he would be killed with a single punch in front of Kenshin.
They never saw Uesugi Kenshin as a woman; rather, they never saw her as a human being.
Kenshin slammed his foot into the Daichi, followed by a whip kick that hurtled towards Bai Mo's head like a runaway truck. Feeling the Daichi tremble, Bai Mo finally understood why Chiyome couldn't beat her.
"Once you've started charging, don't stop."
Bai Mo's words suddenly appeared in Kenshin's ears. The Daichi trembled again, and the screeching sound of tires braking suddenly came from under Kenshin's feet.
Kenshin felt his center falter, and then a sharp cracking sound came from his side.
Although the opponent is formidable, this level of power is sufficient to handle without the need for Magnetic Field Power.
The Bajiquan struck heavily, and Kenshin, like a wild boar shot while running, was thrown backflipped into the air and fell to the ground with a thud, clutching his ribs and trembling slightly.
