An old acquaintance
Before the Storm Barrier Pass, the terrain was as treacherous as a canyon. Several soldiers in ancient iron armor lined up, blocking Koyanskaya's convoy.
The soldiers were unloading and inspecting crates of goods, which had already piled up to the size of a small mountain. The crates were full of gold artifacts, gold eggs, and canes, all inlaid with a dazzling array of gemstones, gleaming brightly.
Koyanskaya still wore her standard professional smile, but the slight twitching in her facial muscles revealed that she was not in a good mood.
Many soldiers had already handled the precious artifacts, leaving their fingerprints on them as if they belonged to them.
The captain, who was in charge, flipped through the documents in the paper bag. The bag was visibly bulging, and besides the documents, there were some other "toll fees" inside. Logically speaking, whether for official or private reasons, there was no reason to stop her.
Koyanskaya forced a smile and said, "Everyone, these things aren't contraband, and it's clearly stated in the documents, isn't it?"
"It seems there's no problem, but this quantity is a bit too much. We need to consult our superiors. Please stay here for a few more days."
If you're in a hurry, you can take the rest. You're going to cross that canyon anyway; getting electrocuted while carrying so much stuff is a minor issue compared to the potential impact on our strategic deployment if we're exposed.
The leading soldier gave a mocking smile, as if he were teasing a dog with a bone.
Seeing this, Koyanskaya said coldly:
"Does Your Excellency truly intend to make things so difficult? NFF has considerable cooperation with your company..."
"Cooperation? A powerless sly fox cooperating with those powerful figures at the top? Do you believe that?"
The sergeant asked the people around him, and the others immediately burst into laughter. Unconsciously, some of them channeled their power. The Magnetic Field Rotation and a flash of light appeared, as if in a demonstration.
Only Koyanskaya appeared from the convoy. Facing the soldiers, her pupils contracted, like a fox about to bare its claws.
In the end, however, she sighed, no longer glancing at the pile of gold and jewels. Resigned, she got into the carriage to leave, her eyes still gleaming with a fierce light. But the gatekeepers at the pass wouldn't allow her to pass. Koyanskaya frowned and said:
Is there anything else?
"So much stuff, are we supposed to carry it all ourselves? Please move it to the storage room yourself, Miss."
Seeing the captain's expression, he stuck out his tongue and greedily licked his lips, while the surrounding soldiers grinned wickedly. They demanded she personally carry these things into the storage room; entering that dark storage room was easy, but getting out would likely be difficult.
When did the soldiers of Qin become so uncivilized?
Koyanskaya said coldly, and the captain in front of her sneered:
"We are not just soldiers of Qin." The soldier captain opened his collar, revealing a blue pattern printed inside, composed of several blue stripes, resembling a sun, but lacking the central spherical symbol of the sun.
"Furthermore, I've noticed that your credentials seem problematic. I now suspect you're forging connections with powerful figures, so you'd better cooperate obediently, otherwise..."
The leading man activated his Magnetic Field Power, and a steel knife floated out of his hand, landing directly in his grasp, pointing at Koyanskaya.
If you stripped them of their iron armor, they would be no different from bandits, yet they brazenly attempted to rob and rape without any sense of righteous indignation. If there was a reason, then their power was it.
The strong can bully the weak; this is the purest law of the jungle, just as a cheetah preys on an antelope. But humans who regard this law as truth, if they cannot stand at the top, will one day become prey for other beasts.
Just as the leading soldier raised his knife to threaten him, he discovered that the knife in his hand was covered in cracks. His gaze narrowed, and his provocation turned into fear.
Even his breathing became heavier without his realizing it.
"This is..."
The standard-forged blade in her hand turned into sand and flowed down. A person appeared there at some unknown time; he was dressed in black with white accents and greeted Koyanskaya:
"Long time no see, how is Koyanskaya Rin? Is she still with you?"
Everyone was stunned by the sudden appearance of the Bai Mo. The leading soldier stared at the blade that had turned into sand, his pupils trembling as if in an earthquake. In the next moment, his brain immediately drove his body to make the right choice.
With a thud, the guy who had just been swaggering around immediately knelt on the ground and kowtowed repeatedly. In less than two seconds, he transformed from a beast into a human.
Meanwhile, a look of joy flashed in Koyanskaya's eyes, and in the passenger seat she was driving, a girl with a somewhat familiar face looked at Bai Mo, who had appeared there, with an incredulous gaze.
Looking at the beautiful young girl of seventeen or eighteen, Bai Mo raised an eyebrow and couldn't help but sigh inwardly:
That little girl from back then has grown up so much.
"Sir, it's been a long time. I've been managing the assets you entrusted to me very well. It's just a pity there aren't any high-end hotels around here, otherwise I would really like to show you the results."
Koyanskaya immediately got out of the car and tried to take Bai Mo's arm like a dance partner. Bai Mo raised her finger to stop her outrageous move, and then turned her gaze to the soldier captain who had already been bruised and bleeding.
The other soldiers were still in shock, staring at their captain who was kowtowing repeatedly. They barely dared to look up; who exactly was this person?
"Sir... we didn't know she really had a relationship with you. I'm sorry, I was just following the rules, just following the rules!"
Seeing Koyanskaya's state, he was so cold that his iron armor was almost soaked with sweat.
The sergeant's tone was almost pleading, his posture extremely humble, like a slave who had made a mistake. But among the group of soldiers, one of them glared and shouted.
The Magnetic Field Power surged, its power no less than that of the captain—two hundred thousand horsepower. This action wasn't for fighting, but for running!
He unleashed his full power, shooting into the air. Bai Mo, however, never wavered in his gaze, and a voice resounded directly in the man's mind:
Did I tell you to move?
Like a goose struck by a hunting rifle, the fleeing man fell straight to the ground, as if subjected to a thousand times the force of gravity, lying there panting like a dying patient.
He saw the Daichi transform into countless sharp blades, like a mountain of knives, which pierced his throat, limbs, and head, leaving his body riddled with holes.
His face was contorted beyond human comprehension as he tried to scream, but his throat was pierced, and he could only let out desperate gasps.
These are not realities; the faint power of Electric Current Push can easily control his mind and create phantom pain directly through his pain receptors.
Koyanskaya to the side, was even more delighted upon witnessing Bai Mo's strength once again.
The fleeing man was dragged over by an invisible hand like a drowning fish. Bai Mo raised his hand, and the soldier's scalp bulged. With a tearing sound, a strange mechanical artifact resembling an insect was taken out.
A Magecraft tool capable of forcibly enhancing Magnetic Field Power, and judging from its design... and the patterns on these people's collars, they are indeed very similar to Blue Dream's battle markings.
It seems the situation here is more complicated than I thought.
Bai Mo pondered to himself, "It's a pity that Chaldea in Russia is still waiting for rescue." The reason he came here, besides checking on Rin's safety, was that Koyanskaya was definitely an excellent intelligence gatherer.
Sharpening your axe won't delay your woodcutting.
The captain, witnessing this scene, felt a chill run down his spine. He mentally cursed the soldier's ancestors to the eighteenth generation. This guy was hiding his strength; he was most likely planted here by higher-ups, but he never expected him to be so foolish!
With only a mere 200,000 horsepower, they actually dared to think about running.
"Idiot! You damn idiot! You've ruined my life, you dog!"
At this moment, the soldier wished he could tear him to pieces.
He was old and knew what it meant when his sword turned into sand. The person before him possessed the power of 750,000 horses— the Atomic Fission Realm!
He'd only ever heard of such a level of power before. Faced with such a huge difference, he actually thought of running away? Damn it, there might have been a sliver of hope before, but now this guy is probably going to kill us all!
As for resistance? He had never considered it. Not resisting might have resulted in a quick and painless end, but if he resisted...
Recalling the interrogation methods he had heard about in the palace, he felt a chill run down his spine, and he dared not lift his head any further.
In this world, Magnetic Field Power is everything. He didn't know Bai Mo at all, but in the face of 750,000 units of power, Bai Mo's identity and past were completely unimportant.
With this power, let alone killing them, even if this person boiled them into soup and sent it to the higher realms, they would happily take a sip and have their most beautiful concubine pour wine and dance for him.
It's absurd, but those who possess this power deserve respect. Who wouldn't want such formidable combat strength? Even if they couldn't absorb it, they wouldn't easily make enemies.
