Trap
Facing the giant serpent, Bai Mo's gaze was cold. He only held Issei of the power. If Hela died, the Underworld would be left without anyone to control it, which would be fine. But that was unlikely. If Hela really died, then Helheim's power would be like a white mouse that had fallen into a snake's nest.
Who would complain about having too much of this?
Even so, Bai Mo was eager to know the information.
Brynhildr was a trap, just as the gods used Gleipnir to trap Fenrir. They happened to encounter Sion, and then, knowing that their group wouldn't abandon Brynhildr, they wanted to separate her soul.
Finally, after Bai Mo and the others temporarily separated from their bodies, they dragged them into Helheim and captured their souls in one fell swoop.
Before the Ultimate, the Magnetic Field Power's control over the Primordial Spirit is relatively limited. Throughout the entire history of the magnetic field, only a handful of people, such as Bai Wunan, Sha Antian, and Bai Qianjun, have been able to touch the Primordial Spirit before the Ultimate stage.
Aside from the rather unique Bai Wunan, the other three only reached the realm of the Primordial Spirit after reaching 990,000 horses. For Bai Mo now, his incomplete Primordial Spirit is his greatest weakness.
As for the Ultimate level of Primordial Spirit power? That's too far away. For now, Bai Mo is just grateful that he can stabilize his Primordial Spirit.
This time, if it weren't for the authority granted by the Tezcatlipoca, they might have really been defeated. It's unlikely that the one who could scheme to this extent is the Surtr sealed in the sky.
The giant serpent before them writhed and twisted, its eyes still flashing with intense killing intent. Bai Mo turned to Sigurd and Ortlinde and said:
"Take Brynhildr and leave Gjallarbrú now, and my authority will allow you to leave Helheim."
"You're going to stay here? This is too dangerous."
Ortlinde immediately retorted. She usually listened to Bai Mo almost without question, but she protested against Bai Mo's plan to put her in danger.
"This is the least risky approach. We're just a stone's throw from the Gjallarbrú, and I'm confident. Besides, this is an opportunity; if we miss it, we'll be back in a passive position."
Upon hearing this, Ortlinde clenched her fists; she knew Bai Mo had made up her mind.
The two, carrying Brynhildr's frozen soul, stepped onto the Gjallarbrú, walking against the current. The wind and snow along the way no longer hindered them, and the wandering spirits avoided them.
"Alright, now it's just the two of us here. You've already broken the contract once, so I don't think breaking it again would be a big deal for you, would it?"
Bai Mo spoke with a hint of mockery, saying that the giant snake had previously tricked them by letting one person go, but now the roles of the butcher and the fish had been reversed, and Bai Mo was now mocking them by breaking its promise.
The sudden reversal of power left the giant snake looking as if it had swallowed a gall bladder, its face contorted with bitterness. Yet, it still roared defiantly at Bai Mo:
"Pah! You're dreaming! Kill me if you want!"
"Oh, so you're quite the tough guy? Is it really because of some contract you can't talk about, or are you truly that loyal to your so-called 'master'?"
But that's alright, it's perfect for me to experiment on how Helheim tortures the soul.
Countless frosts transformed into invisible blades, slicing through the giant serpent's soul. In terms of the integrity and power of its soul, this giant serpent should be stronger, but unfortunately, in almost every Underworld, the power of the Underworld lord is unimaginably vast.
The goddess Ishtar has already demonstrated this herself. Without a physical body, it's best not to challenge the lord of the Underworld Underworld.
Although he cannot manipulate Magnetic Field Power, he can still freely use it at his Complete Realm, and his control over power is unaffected by energy differences.
In an instant, the giant snake's body was like a tattered rag. Because it was a soul, Bai Mo couldn't activate the magnetic field to read minds, but for this kind of soul, it was much easier to find out what it wanted.
Previously, in the Underworld of Mesopotamia, Bai Mo had experienced a soul entering another body. The moment he entered, Bai Mo could see some of the past. Now, all he needed to do was finely chop this guy into shreds and then slowly cook him.
A rope-like hook was attached to Bai Mo's waist. Then, the giant snake before him was sliced into pieces, leaving only its head and the massive body reduced to a single bone.
Bai Mo casually picked up a fragment and integrated it into his body. Countless fragments of memory flashed through his mind. In an area densely covered with roots, Bai Mo watched countless snakes gnawing on something.
"This place is teeming with snakes, could it be that you are...?"
He muttered to himself, and then Bai Mo prepared to reach out and take out some more.
This serpent's existence is likely no shorter than that of the gods, and its tiny soul carries so many memories. Seeing Bai Mo's expression, a sharp glint flashed in the giant serpent's eyes.
In the frigid Helheim, a flame ignited, the giant serpent seemingly transforming itself into firewood, burning fiercely. Along with the fragments, Bai Mo slapped his hand, intending to stop it, but found his authority unable to move.
"Have we been discovered?"
The pre-arranged ropes swiftly pulled Bai Mo away from the spot, his figure vanishing instantly, like a rope being urgently pulled back in the deep sea.
The previous concentration of power was precisely to prevent this situation from occurring, since it only Issei.
In the distant, frigid winter, a blazing, emerald-green flame erupted, carrying terrifying power as if it were the end of the world, hurtling towards Bai Mo. The scene resembled a pyroclastic flow from a volcanic eruption; the surrounding souls vanished the moment they touched it.
Don't let that thing touch you!
Guided by that force, Bai Mo moved like a sharp sword, rapidly advancing into the distance. On the Gjallarbrú, Bai Mo accelerated like a figure skater, but the flames behind him seemed to be even faster.
A sharp light flashed by, and the rope woven by Bai Mo with the Authority of the Underworld vanished instantly.
"It seems that Hela, the goddess of the Underworld, has indeed had her authority taken away."
Bai Mo turned his head, and the surrounding wind enveloped him. Two gusts of cold wind accelerated continuously, as if they were the Vacuum Sword Blade of the Heaven and Earth Sea Tiger Sword, about to launch him out.
The emerald green flames clearly emitted Magnetic Field Power, indicating that the opponent possessed a physical body, and this was still his territory. Fighting him here would be unwise.
You can't leave!
A colossal claw descended, aimed directly at Bai Mo. Bai Mo used his power to dodge, but the claw severed the rope formed by the power. The Gjallarbrú collapsed instantly, and Bai Mo fell straight down, the bridgehead now only a tiny distance away.
Just then, a pair of small, childlike hands grabbed Bai Mo's hand.
Ortlinde, who should have left, stood at the bridgehead, gripping Bai Mo's arm tightly, and with all her might, leaped backward. They crossed the bricks of the Gjallarbrú, and the surrounding scene instantly changed.
Helheim vanished, but the deep roar of the unknown creature still echoed in his ears.
