Death Runes
In the Scandinavian Lostbelt, due to the scarcity of manpower, Bai Mo simply came here directly and began construction using Magnetic Field Power. Soon, a massive nuclear power plant rose from the ground, and a light shone by the roadside in the small village that Skadi once protected.
"This is the first step. These are seeds cultivated in the Great Qin, and they produce better yields than before. The planting steps are in this booklet, along with some other measures, such as animal husbandry..."
Bai Mo carefully explained things to the villagers in front of him, and handed over basic household appliances, as well as farm tools and forging furnaces.
It wasn't until evening, watching them drive the new handheld tillage machine, that Bai Mo felt relieved enough to prepare to leave. Refusing the villagers' farewell toasts and invitations to a party, Bai Mo walked to the village entrance, where Ortlinde was standing with Gullfaxi.
"Sorry to keep you waiting."
"It's alright, it hasn't been that long. Are you going back today? Why don't you stay here? We've been saving the old place for you, and the blankets are all aired out."
"Lady Skadi seems to have something to discuss with you tomorrow, so don't go back tonight."
Ortlinde patted the exquisite double saddle on Gullfaxi's back. It was a gift from the Qin Shi Huang, who had allowed Skadi and Anastasia to each choose one from the display cases in the Epang Palace.
Skadi chose this two-person saddle and gifted it to Ortlinde.
Seeing Ortlinde's enthusiastic manner, Bai Mo found it difficult to refuse her. So Ortlinde half-pulled him onto Gullfaxi's saddle. Gullfaxi clearly didn't seem to mind Bai Mo, and the two of them flew through the sky.
Ortlinde leaned back slightly, pressing against Bai Mo's firm chest, and listened quietly to his heartbeat.
Soaring through the sky, watching the sunset, it's wonderful. If only this road could go on forever. Ortlinde thought to herself, while Bai Mo gently touched her pair of black dragon horns and asked:
"Ortlinde, is there a problem on your end?"
"Huh? No, it's just a little inconvenient when sleeping. Why do you say that?"
"It's nothing, it just feels a little different... The Ortlinde I remembered wouldn't hug you right away when you met her, does this really not affect you at all?"
When Bai Mo talked about what happened at the Epang Palace, Ortlinde was really startled.
"Ugh... It's been so long since we last met, sometimes when I see Brynhildr I can't help but want to hug her, that's normal. In fact, after all this time, Bai Mo, you should feel the same way, right?"
Ortlinde pouted, somewhat displeased.
"If I had to say, it's just like Mimir said: I have trouble getting up in the morning, and I like to stay wrapped in my blankets to sleep at night. Other than that, there's nothing else."
"That's good."
Bai Mo nodded in relief. With several people watching, he was reassured. Gullfaxi moved quickly and soon arrived at Ortlinde's hut.
"I'll go prepare dinner. Ortlinde, you take care of Gullfaxi for a while." Bai Mo took the initiative to prepare dinner, and Ortlinde also took a brush and gave Gullfaxi a thorough cleaning.
Before long, she smelled a familiar fragrance coming from Bai Mo's room.
"Honey barbecue sauce with salmon, and the Russian tomato soup you had before, with sausage in it."
Ortlinde ate her meal in small bites. She really liked this bowl of red soup. Looking at the somewhat familiar soup noodles, she looked up and her gaze gently fell on Bai Mo's face.
"This... is what I drank when I first met you? I was so cold and hungry then, my brain was practically transformed. And now..."
She looked at her exquisite scale armor and the swan dress with gold trim, at Gungnir on the shelf in the center of the room, and at Bai Mo, who was focused on eating.
A sweet feeling of happiness welled up in her heart, sweeter than the honey elixir in the cup.
Dinner ended quickly. Afterwards, Bai Mo prepared to inform Ortlinde about the Raven Runes he had developed, and then have Otrind deliver it to Skadi.
But Ortlinde spoke first, "Bai Mo, I have something for you."
She moved like a gust of wind, bringing back a jet-black dagger from next door, engraved with an ancient Rune Runes.
"This is... Death Runes?"
"Yes, Lady Skadi asked me to teach you this. She said your combat abilities are very strong, but it would be troublesome if you faced beings that are immune to death."
With this, there's no need to worry. If you encounter enemies who are destined to die, just draw this Runes on your sword and slash them away."
Looking at the jet-black Runes, Bai Mo nodded to Ortlinde.
Please thank her for me.
This is indeed a very useful thing. If I had possessed this Death Runes back then, I wouldn't have been tortured by Fran. Although it can't kill instantly upon touching the Lines of Death like the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, it is a huge threat to those who are trying to escape death.
Most importantly, if death occurs, immortality is broken, making the problem much simpler to solve.
As for the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, there's basically no need to even think about it. The Mystic Eyes of Death Perception observes the death of all things at the Root.
The Giant Shark successfully fused with the body of Araya Souren from this world.
Bai Mo didn't want to change bodies. Although this body couldn't use abilities like the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, it would also render all conceptual attacks ineffective against him.
He didn't want to have another Lines of Death hanging over him; what if he ended up like the Giant Shark?
They weren't even considering the Heaven and Earth Demon God anymore, a consensus shared by Bai Wunan. Previously, they considered it because they worried about its insufficient strength, but now, they could even fight against a 990,000-horsepower beast, so why add a weakness to themselves?
This also shows that Bai Mo's growth rate has even exceeded Bai Wunan's expectations.
The night's study went by quickly; Ortlinde, bathed in Nidhogg's blood, seemed to have more energy at night. Bai Mo's learning speed was also quite fast, which surprised her somewhat.
"Even faster than I expected, Bai Mo, why don't you learn a few more Runes? Although you have the power, this kind is still very convenient."
"Not for now, Ortlinde. I also have a Runes I'd like to give you, a Runes I created myself in the Qin Lostbelt."
"Really? Then let's go find Mimir tomorrow. He's been assigned to manage most of the Runes."
This time, the roles were reversed, Bai Mo taught Ortlinde the "Raven Runes" he had developed. The night passed by in the midst of their conversation.
Everything seemed so peaceful.
At least outside of Chaldea, everything is peaceful.
Meanwhile, in Chaldea, Goredolf's room was now empty. For a while, Goredolf had seemed half-asleep, but now, his mind had snapped awake as if struck by lightning.
Goredolf opened his eyes and found himself not in his own Chaldea room, but in a Japanese-style building.
"Where... where is this?"
