Tallying the spoils of war
Within a day, most matters concerning Kingdom of Magadha were settled. Among them, the humans were taken away by Bala Rama, and some who wished to go to the Dvaraka could follow, while those who did not wish to go would be sent out of the forest.
The internal affairs can only be temporarily managed by Jara, and Bai Mo has no objection to the fact that these Rakshasa cannot leave.
Meanwhile, after discussing it, Jara and Krishna decided to try to cover up the fact that Yao Lian was dead. Although the news would mostly spread as these humans left, it would also spread the information that Yao Lian was still alive.
By stirring up trouble, they could prevent anyone from targeting Kingdom of Magadha for a short period of time.
Kingdom of Magadha is rich in land, Yao Lian has amassed a vast treasure trove, enough to make some rulers go crazy. However, if war breaks out again, not only could this isolated forest be destroyed, but many people would also die in vain.
When Bai Mo saw Yao Lian's treasure vault, he was astonished. The walls of Rajagriha, the Kingdom of Magadha, were made of gold, and the wealth in the vault was unimaginable.
The pool was filled with a river of gems, and there were countless exquisite gold artifacts and creations. Precious crystals and jade stones were tossed into the pool like pebbles.
Jara said these treasures could be taken at will, since they were of little use to the Rakshasa and ascetics anyway.
And so, as he loaded the treasures into the extra cart, Bala Rama shook his head helplessly, saying, "I should have brought more people with me."
"Are you short of money?" Bai Mo, somewhat puzzled. According to the Mahabharata, the Dvaraka was quite wealthy. It had nearly 900,000 palaces, which were designed and built by the god-craftsman Vishvakarman. Moreover, Krishna had many marriage alliances with wealthy countries.
"Alas, the Yadava clan migrated to Dvaraka, leaving everyone behind their homes. With Yao Lian bringing oppression, they were truly impoverished. Don't laugh, but before, Dvaraka basically relied on my brother selling his body for income."
Hearing Bala Rama's teasing words, Bai Mo understood that having Yao Lian the strength of 900,000 horses put considerable pressure on Dvaraka.
In this situation, the Krishna could still arrange marriages and political deals only shows how incredibly attractive he was.
"This time, we owe a great debt to Bai Mo. Not only has he eliminated a major enemy for my Yadava clan, but he has also rid the Daichi of a great scourge. If you ever need anything in the future, feel free to come to Dvaraka. The gates of the Yadava clan are always open to you, my friend."
Bai Mo accepted the favor, and perhaps there really would be a day when he would visit the Yadava clan.
As he left, Krishna handed Bai Mo watch. Looking at this little gadget, which was carved with murals depicting the Yuga of rebirth of four Yuga, the hands of which were stopped in the middle of the third Yuga.
"This isn't for keeping track of time, is it?"
The story of the Mahabharata takes place in the later part of the third Yuga, after Krishna's death, when the world entered the worst Kali Yuga.
"That's right, my friend. This is where the Dharma resides in the world. When you restore the Dharma to a level that can influence Arjuna enough, he will certainly not resort to such extreme measures again."
By then, perhaps you'll be able to go back, and the world won't go astray.
Bai Mo thanked him and accepted the item. Kama, standing nearby, curiously examined the pocket watch-like object. "This thing... it feels like that thing on Indra's throne?"
"You guessed right, Kama."
The two remained silent. With that, the matter of Kingdom of Magadha was considered to have come to an end. As Bai Mo and Kama prepared to leave, some people followed them. Some of them were dressed in coarse linen, while others were strongmen from the inner city.
Why don't you follow Bala Rama to the Yadava clan?
"We do not want to go to the Yadava clan. We are all the original Kingdom of Magadha. If we go there, even if Krishna and Bala Rama do not hold us accountable, we will have no face to face the Yadava clan we have harmed."
Great Brahmin, please have mercy and show us the way. No matter how difficult the journey, we are willing to follow you.
Bai Mo slapped his forehead and said with a hint of helplessness, "How did I become a Brahmin?"
A robust man stepped forward, bowed deeply to Bai Mo, and said, "My lord, please stop joking. A Brahmin is qualified if he can perform the ritual. If he can communicate with the power of the gods, then he is a Brahmin among Brahmins."
By having deities by your side so readily, your status among the Brahmins must be comparable to that of Vishnu or Shiva among the gods!
Hearing this, Bai Mo looked at Kama in confusion, while Kama also pretended to think, then clapped his hands and said, "That's really true. Congratulations, you've achieved the highest caste!"
"Go away, you always like to label people with meaningless tags. I'm not some Brahmin, I'm an outsider. As for you... judging by the time, Karna should have accomplished something by now, and he's probably short of manpower."
If you are willing, then you can follow my disciples."
Upon hearing this, many people expressed their determination to follow him to the death, and even some who had originally followed Bala Rama turned around and came to Bai Mo's side.
When Krishna and Bala Rama saw this, they also celebrated and said that if the city-state was completed, they should be notified to come. Some of the kings who had been captured by Yao Lian also expressed their willingness to form an alliance with the country.
At this moment, Karna, who was still outside the city discussing the results of the battle, was unaware that his master had already brought him a huge fortune. He was currently facing the envoy sent by Dhritarashtra and discussing the situation.
"Karna, son of Sudo, your achievements in this battle are not to be overlooked. According to the battle report, although you did not directly participate in the campaign against King Drupada, you single-handedly annihilated the attacking Rakshasa army and protected the princes."
The messenger paused, looking at the words on the decree as if he felt he hadn't quite understood something.
"But judging from the battle situation, you haven't conquered the territory of Panchala, so you won't gain Panchala's lands."
As the messenger spoke, his words became slower and slower, and upon hearing this, both the Hundred Sons of Dhritarashtra and the Pandavas showed expressions of doubt.
"This is not in accordance with the Dharma," Yudhishthira, the first to object. "It is the warriors who conquer the country, but victory cannot be achieved without the king who makes the decisions or the craftsmen who create the weapons."
"That's right, those charging at us are Rakshasa. What if they grab one of Duryodhana brothers and bite him?"
"Bhima, are you insulting my brothers?" Duryodhana roared, while Bhima shrugged and said, "Who told you to suffer a defeat in your first battle and have several of you captured?"
As children Duryodhana wanted to poison and kill Bhima; the relationship between these two was such that they didn't even need a reason to fight.
