Breaking through the clouds
On the battlefield at this moment, almost everyone held their breath; you could hear a pin drop. Before the God of Annihilation, every living being felt a chilling fear; the God of Annihilation's wrath made it almost impossible for anyone to breathe.
Shiva's voice, like a resounding bell, cut off Kama's words. Kama opened her mouth, but could not utter a word.
Because he had interfered with Shiva's practice, he had become an obstacle to asceticism. Therefore, now that he was about to obtain a new divine position, Shiva, the god of asceticism, would naturally not agree.
After all, interfering with those who practice asceticism and gain more is absolutely intolerable to Shiva, the god of asceticism. This means that those who practice asceticism in the future will be affected.
Shiva, being the god of innocence, didn't consider so many subtleties and charged straight in, stopping the ceremony from proceeding.
Upon hearing Shiva's words, Kama's gaze gradually lowered.
She asked, "So, you're saying you're against me, not this divine position?"
Shiva nodded, glancing at Vishnu out of the corner of his eye, and replied, "The world is not yet at the point of destruction, so I will not deny the emergence of a new god who is beneficial to the Dharma."
But as the god of asceticism, I will not allow those who interfere with asceticism to assume more divine duties. Kama, give up. This is not something you should touch, unless you wish to experience burning into nothingness once more.
In the Heaven, the gods watched this scene and shook their heads. No matter what, it was a humiliation, and many gods who were somewhat familiar with Kama let out deep sighs.
"After this, she'll probably become even more sinister."
Indra, seated in the main seat, had lost his smile. He took a sip of wine and said with a hint of helplessness, "That's the downside of Shiva. Really, he's always in the wilderness practicing asceticism. Only Parvati can put up with this guy."
A series of footsteps sounded outside the door, and a goddess stormed in. She wore a tight red bodice and short skirt, revealing her slender limbs and graceful curves, and the numerous jewels on her body rustled with her movements.
"Gods and gods, what are you doing? Are you just going to watch Kama be humiliated like this? What is Shiva thinking, that he would allow Kama to be publicly shamed like this?"
"King of the gods, Indra, Kama shot that arrow on your command; she was the only victim that time, and now, is she to be publicly humiliated here?"
Upon seeing the newcomer, Indra's lips twitched involuntarily. "Lord Rati, calm down. Didn't we say that matter was over? Who knew that Shiva would actually..."
The Heavenly Emperor turned his gaze away. He had been planning to treat the matter between Kama and Rati as amusement, but now Rati had come looking for him first.
Faced with this situation, Indra coughed and then reassured him, "Alright, I'll go take a look. Don't worry."
Before Rati could speak, Indra vanished, along with his throne as the King of Gods.
Shiva's words echoed in the air, like a judge delivering a final verdict, a decisive blow. There was no room for negotiation. Kama lowered his head, and the few seconds that passed felt like an eternity.
"Never mind," she said softly, at least she tried.
She looked up at the sky, where the tiny ray of light was dimmed by Shiva's power, unable to rise even a fraction higher. It was like a fish trying to fly into the sky; it leaped with all its might, barely managing to break the surface before plummeting back down.
"I'm sorry, Master, I've disappointed you. I hope you have other plans..."
Kama's voice was barely audible, but the next moment, Bai Mo stepped forward and stood in front of Kama.
Clang!
A metallic clang rang out, and everyone present held their breath, even Duryodhana was stunned. All eyes were on the man before them, gasping at his actions.
That sound was the sound of the Beginning and End being drawn from its sheath.
Karna stood there, stunned, his mind completely blank. Bhima patted the dumbfounded Arjuna beside him and whispered, "If we had known he was so brave, we shouldn't have followed Drona and become his disciples with Karna."
Arjuna, this is a true warrior!
The Duryodhana below remained motionless, like a wooden sculpture. Logically, seeing his enemy do such a thing, he should have laughed heartily, but when it actually happened, he was stunned by the sheer audacity of it.
He knew Karna's master was a strong man, but he never expected him to be so brave.
As for Kama, the person involved, she was stunned on the spot, her brain stopped working at that moment, and the voice kept echoing in her ears.
The sound of metal striking metal, the sound of a sword being drawn from its sheath.
"This won't do, Shiva." Bai Mo stood in front of Kama, Beginning and End a blinding cold light emanated from his hand.
Shiva frowned slightly and said sternly, "Why not? It's just creating a new god; it shouldn't be difficult, right? Vishnu has no reason to stop it, and neither do you."
"No, no, no, I do not agree that any god other than Kama behind me should hold this position."
Kama felt her heart pounding, her blood rushing through her veins like a flood. She looked at the man standing before Shiva, and her breathing became rapid.
"Why?"
Shiva was puzzled, while Bai Mo let out a laugh.
"Because of you, Shiva. Don't forget, she was also an oppressed one."
From the very beginning, Bai Mo had not considered any other options. How could one genuinely protect and help someone without truly experiencing it firsthand? Therefore, Kama was the most suitable candidate.
Upon hearing this, Shiva narrowed his eyes slightly, having to admit that Bai Mo's words were not without merit.
"But as the god of asceticism, I cannot allow such a thing to happen; the baptism of Kama will not begin."
"That's hard to say."
Bai Mo stretched out his finger, pointing to the sky. With a whisper, he issued a command to the world, using his own merits and the Power of Austerity.
In an instant, the world changed color, and a dazzling golden light emerged, like a surging torrent, bursting into the sky, as if to poke a hole in the heavens.
"Wait, what are you doing?!"
Kama was blinded by the light; she never imagined that Bai Mo would go to such lengths.
"I can use my assets legally, no need to worry. If I hadn't come here, I wouldn't have known I had these things. To me, at first, these things were just useless things."
I don't want to use these external forces to achieve any wishes, but since they can help you, I guess they've served their purpose in the right way.
Bai Mo turned to look at Kama, and even took the time to tap her head with his finger.
"I've already said it, I'll make up for what you lack. That's the relationship between Master and Servant, isn't it? Also, don't immediately dismiss yourself. How do you know you can't do it if you haven't even tried?"
Having said that, he regained his composure and roared at the sky:
"Brahma, I beseech you to grant my wish: that this Power of Merit may be transformed into the baptism of her rebirth, into the power of a new god!"
"As you wish."
