The burning sword
Seeing William Tell's extremely unpleasant expression, Bai Mo felt a little sorry for the old man. After all, his son was the most precious thing to him, and Arjuna had even taken away that memory.
"Arjuna was undoubtedly powerful in terms of strength and authority, but he was ultimately just a newly born god. This way of behaving is truly in line with the thinking of gods."
Kama shook his head helplessly, and Bai Mo felt the same way. This kind of thinking that only considers the result and has no humanity is indeed the way of thinking of the gods that he is familiar with.
Rather, Bai Mo had seen many deities from various lineages. The India gods were arguably the most human-like of all the gods. Whether it was the fire god tormented by ghee or the love god who loathed work, their actions reflected the same emotions and desires as humans.
As for Arjuna had a classic god-like mentality, acting without any regard for others. If his subordinates objected, he would simply erase their memories of opposition.
"What are your plans next? How about coming over to my side? Although we'll still inevitably have to fight Arjuna in the end, it's a much better option than going back, isn't it?"
"Speaking of Asclepius, why did you answer that fellow's call?"
Bai Mo asked Asclepius, who was obsessed with medicine, and Bai Mo could tell at a glance that there was no sign of his mind being altered.
"Don't even mention it. I was relieved to find you alive after that battle, but I also had a regret before I died. You should know that, right? Because of my research on immortality, I was tricked by Hades."
Although I was eventually promoted to the Ophiuchus, that wasn't what I envisioned. I longed for a world where medicine could develop freely, so that guy made a promise to me."
At this point, Asclepius shook his head helplessly, and William Tell let out a wry smile.
"Dude, you're really unlucky. That bastard is a complete liar, no, I bet he doesn't even realize what he's doing?"
"Tsk, that India goddess over there, can I curse her in this situation?"
William Tell asked Kama, Kama waved his hand dismissively.
"Impossible. Not to mention that Shiva and Vishnu both have the power to overturn tables, Arjuna's merits are beyond imagination. Even if you were to suffer the torment of ten Dalits, the curse wouldn't be enough to harm a single hair on his head."
"No way, this bastard actually has merit? Has God gone blind?"
Kama spread his hands, revealing a helpless expression. Bai Mo also looked puzzled, and seeing this, Kama patiently explained:
"Yes, the so-called merit and karma are two-sided. Just like killing someone will accumulate karma, but killing evil people, Rakshasa, Asura will accumulate merit. They are all killing, but as long as the definition is different, what is obtained will be vastly different."
Arjuna has been carrying out the cycle of creation and destruction, constantly weeding out the wicked and imperfect. In a normal world, there would surely be other gods or immortals who would refute him.
Unfortunately, only one god Arjuna, existed in that world, so no one denies his existence. And for humanity as a whole, Arjuna's actions were seen as clearing away impurities, which is naturally a meritorious deed.
William Tell's lips twitched as he said, "Even children who are born knowing nothing, who only get a scrape while running, are wiped out, and this is considered merit?"
"Don't try to understand that guy with human thinking, or even the thinking of a god. You should know very well what the result would be if a human body were to bear the power of a god."
That thing has become something like a concept, like how the sun brings heat and the night brings cold. It's more appropriate to think of him as a machine, a machine that only performs the cycle of creation.
With so much divine power and so many divine attributes, the loss of humanity is inevitable.
Upon hearing Kama's words, everyone fell into an eerie silence. Nezha was alright, but the Spirit Origin of William Tell and Asclepius were already at their limit, capable of accommodating one deity at a time; any more and they would inevitably collapse.
"Tsk, I thought he was a cold and resolute god, but it turns out he's just a one-track-minded machine?" Asclepius slapped himself in the face.
He came to work for this guy hoping for a world where he could freely study medicine, but it turned out that Arjuna was such a scoundrel.
"Seriously, Heroic Spirit are really unlucky. Here, take this and figure out how to get rid of it."
Asclepius handed the sword behind him to Bai Mo. Bai Mo took the sword, flicked the blade with his fingers, and a dazzling flame instantly ignited. Surprisingly, the entire sword was burning, but Bai Mo did not feel any heat.
"Hey buddy, isn't yours hot?"
William Tell asked with a hint of curiosity, while Bai Mo shook his head.
"According to you, this is the trap he had you set, right?"
"Yes, after the three of us confirmed your arrival, we activated the spell, and this thing will attack on its own to eliminate you. Although we don't know how this sword will attack."
William Tell explained, while Kama raised an eyebrow.
It smells like Shiva.
The burning sword, the power of Shiva —all of this has revealed the identity of this thing.
"This is White Horse Kalki's sword." Bai Mo pinched the tip of the sword in his backhand and handed it to Kama. Kama touched it with his fingers somewhat carefully, then nodded solemnly.
"It is indeed a troublesome thing. Although its inherent power is gone, it contains an extremely powerful force. If it is completed, everything in this space may be instantly annihilated, and even this space itself may not be spared. Nezha was right to warn us, this thing is very dangerous."
Bai Mo opened the Gate of Babylon and took it inside. This thing was clearly not suitable to carry around at all times; there were specific rooms inside the Gate of Babylon for storing these dangerous items.
"Wait, does that mean we'll be wiped out after this is activated?"
William Tell asked, and Kama was standing nearby, nodded in affirmation.
"My friend, it seems that guy didn't spare a single one. I admire your decisiveness in turning against him." William Tell was now relieved for Asclepius; no, rather, it was no wonder he didn't turn against him, given that Asclepius was given this task.
Asclepius longed for a world where he could freely study medicine, but Arjuna had welded his carriage doors shut and sent him to be a suicide squad. Now that he found that the enemy was his old friend, he naturally did not hesitate at all.
Asclepius softly, feeling utterly helpless about the situation.
"Since that's the case, why don't you just come to my side? By the way, why is it that no matter what I do, I can't summon you at Chaldea?"
Bai Mo asked Asclepius, and upon hearing this, Asclepius's eyes lit up.
"Hey buddy, you've become a king like Jason?"
"No, I have neither the interest nor the time to be a king. Each of those places has its own political system. However, if you want a place where you can conduct normal medical research, I should be able to provide one."
Upon seeing a familiar face, Bai Mo naturally didn't want him to go back there, but Asclepius shook his head.
No, forget it.
I'm a doctor. Your world should be quite safe, so there shouldn't be a huge need for doctors. In that case, I'll continue as Heroic Spirit for now. After all, if I'm summoned, it means there are patients who need a doctor.
I'll go to your place when no one else needs a doctor.
Moreover... that Arjuna didn't leave us any way out at all. Divine power is both a help and a chain, and I don't want to bring that thing into the trap.
It's a pity, but let's just let it go this time.
