Hand of Calamity
The Fairy Britain has always been home to Six Great Clans, each controlling a territory. However, clans are not permanent, and two of them have already withdrawn from the stage of Britain.
The Rain Clan mysteriously disappeared, and the Mirror Clan was wiped out overnight.
Each clan has its own unique strengths. For example, the Earth Clan excels in forging, Fang Clan are natural-born warriors and can resist Mors.
The Mirror Clan is no exception. The fairies of the Mirror Clan all possess the ability to foresee the future, and as their name suggests, they have unique ideas and ways of thinking about the control of light.
From this perspective, the Mirror Clan are generally very powerful beings, and the Queen Knight Boggart before us is the last known Mirror Clan fairy to remain.
Previously, Boggart served Morgan, who foresaw the impending destruction of the Mirror Clan through prophecy. Without hesitation, he left the Mirror Clan and sought refuge with the Winter Queen, the only one who could save his life.
And indeed, that was the case. Boggart survived the destruction of the Mirror Clan and served Morgan as the last member of the Mirror Clan. But in the three days that Morgan was away from Britain, her kingdom collapsed.
"Hey buddy, we can talk. You can never have too many friends, right?"
Boggart spoke in a relaxed and natural tone, seemingly still quite at ease, as the strongest assassin remained hidden in the shadows, talking boastfully...
But by this moment, his bronze horse armor had turned to dust, and Bai Mo's large hand had gripped Boggart's neck. He was now doing everything in his power to appear kind in order to avoid angering the person in front of him.
He was already cursing inwardly: what kind of luck was this? A powerful human not only easily cracked his Camouflage Magic Mirror, but his prophetic abilities were completely useless against him.
With his two trump cards shut down, Boggart could only try to talk things out.
"Strong one, listen to my advice: there's no point in protecting this New Darlington. Nobody likes the Fairy Knight Tristan. If she weren't His Majesty's child, that kind of perverse guy would be dead long ago."
He's no match for Lancelot and Gawain in terms of strength, and he always has a sour face, relying on Morgan to act recklessly. Now that Morgan is gone, everyone wants that guy dead.
"Oh? Tell me in detail who wants her dead?"
Bai Mo tightened his grip on Boggart's neck, trying to get more information from him, when suddenly New Darlington seemed to be struck by an earthquake. The Daichi cracked open, and thick, purple magic surged upwards.
The two of them turned their heads in that direction simultaneously.
What is that?
"I... I don't know."
Boggart blurted out instinctively, and the next moment he felt as if his neck was being turned into sausage filling. With his last ounce of strength, he managed to squeeze out a few words:
"Really... if I had known that New Darlington would have something like this, I wouldn't have come... this is already a harbinger of Calamity."
With a thud, Boggart was tossed aside by Bai Mo like a rag. The restless thing under New Darlington was clearly not a normal object.
Morgan remained hidden, unafraid that Boggart would escape. Bai Mo left an afterimage in the air and headed straight for New Darlington.
Along the way, the fairies kept fleeing, but when they saw Bai Mo, they all swarmed around him. There were many kinds of fairies in New Darlington, although most of them were not good birds.
Who would want to stay where the Fairy Knight Tristan is if they could go to a better city?
"Croak, sir, please save us!"
"Get out of the way." Bai Mo said coldly, and with a wave of his hand, the shockwave he created knocked several demons blocking his way to the ground. He immediately came to the bottom of the crack and looked up to see a giant black hand climbing upwards.
It's as if a demon sealed in Hell has broken free of its restraints and is slowly crawling towards the human world.
Now I understand why Mors suddenly disappeared into the Daichi.
"Do you need my help?"
"No need. They can't do anything to me at this level. Go deal with your old subordinates, and don't let him get away."
After a brief exchange with Morgan, Bai Mo took a step forward and plunged straight into the bottomless abyss. This thing was one of Britain's Calamity, a dense curse; whenever it emerged from the ground, all the fairies of New Darlington would turn into Mors.
Although Bai Mo was indifferent to those fairies, he couldn't let this thing reach out its hand now.
"It seems Britain in a terrible state now, with something like this lurking beneath the surface; it's like building a city on top of a giant beast."
The Beginning and End flashed in the air, the Daichi cracked, and a thousand feet below, the Hand of Calamity faced a human. The blade gleamed, Beginning and End in Bai Mo's hands was as fast as lightning and as swift as thunder.
The Eighteen Levels of Hell lunged at the Hand of Calamity, which seemed to have plunged into a meat grinder, instantly shattering and scattering the curse. Along with it came echoing sounds, like hallucinations.
"Unforgivable, unforgivable..."
"Do you also want to kill all these demons? But I'm sorry, your current situation is too bad. If we let you out like this, the whole world will be completely doomed."
Why don't you wait a bit? Morgan will probably throw them all down to see you later... but that doesn't seem likely."
Bai Mo spoke to the giant hand, but the giant hand clearly couldn't understand human speech; it was simply trying to tear the entire piece in two and unleash the curse.
Meanwhile, Boggart, knowing he had escaped with his life, ran away without looking back, feeling incredibly relieved. That fool had actually worried about Tristan in New Darlington and abandoned him without hesitation.
The Camouflage Magic Mirror flashed incessantly, and the invisible Boggart swiftly fled the scene. His objective had been achieved; the Calamity was about to be unleashed, and this New Darlington was doomed.
However, the next moment, he suddenly felt his head spinning as he ran wildly. With a thud, Boggart tumbled over, crashing through several trees like a tumbleweed before finally coming to a stop.
"Cough cough, what's going on? Could it be that this Calamity has some effect on mental pollution? That would be terrible. If that human's mind is also polluted, this place might turn into a slaughterhouse."
A chill ran down Boggart's spine. He had lived for a very long time and experienced many wars. He knew all too well what the outcome would be for an ordinary fairy if more than 900,000 powerful beasts fought each other without restraint.
However, at that moment, the tip of a jet-black staff appeared before him, along with a long black dress, blue and black high heels, and that familiar chill.
Boggart felt as if she had not yet recovered from the effects of that Calamity, until a cold voice sent a chill down her spine.
"That's quite in line with your way of dealing with people. As soon as the protective umbrella disappears, you immediately switch to another one. There's nothing inherently wrong with that behavior, after all, I've never trusted you."
But... to turn around and use the original owner's people as a pledge of allegiance, that's not a good idea, Boggart."
Boggart on the ground was trembling like a leaf. He didn't dare to raise his head, and even his eyes were quietly closed. He curled up on the ground and didn't move.
"Boggart."
Morgan seemed a little impatient as he spoke again, and Boggart finally looked up and saw the familiar black veil—the Queen of Winter.
"Your Majesty, you're not dead! You're still alive!"
