Beneath the Skin
Having taken some ill-gotten gains, Boggart left Sheffield, left the city. He saw his own victory, the order in Sheffield where humans and fairies coexisted equally.
To protect this victory, he had to leave.
Perhaps I could use this money to buy a house in Norwich? They've just started rebuilding there, so the prices might be quite reasonable. Besides, I'm quite strong; I'm sure I can make a name for myself and earn the respect of everyone in Norwich.
"That's not all... I can also try to expose Spriggan's deception and kick him off the position of clan chief. Hmph, what's that? It's not a failure yet."
The being, transformed into another Fang Clan, walked through the forest, a Magecraft woven rope tied around his wrist.
And this object was constantly revealing his location. Like the scent of blood drifting in the sea, even the slightest trace would attract a pack of bloodthirsty sharks.
The forest was unusually quiet, with only the faint chirping of insects. The vegetation underfoot rustled as it was trampled, but it was impossible to tell where the sound was coming from—whether it was from my own feet or from some other wild animal.
There was a distinct rustling sound; you could clearly feel something approaching.
From the shadows in the grass, a figure suddenly darted out. Upon closer inspection, it was a hairy man dressed in black clothes and red pants, waving at the person in front of him as if to say hello.
"Hey, I found you, Mr. Boggart. It's so good you're alright. I can't believe you survived, and you even have a new identity ready."
"Beryl...?"
"That's right, it's me! Oh dear, if I hadn't gotten you this Mystic Code before, I really wouldn't have been able to find you."
Beryl Gat walked forward with a smile, like a wolf in sheep's clothing. The next moment, he raised his hand and brought down his knife, but the man in front of him grabbed his hand holding the knife.
"Ouch, it hurts!"
"What are you doing?"
The fairy frowned, seemingly oblivious to the wine-red figure that appeared behind her.
Some time ago--
"Beryl, what are you thinking? I didn't leave New Darlington to play these pointless games with you. What is that guy anyway? Just a wild dog that happened to find a weapon, does he really think he's a lion?"
And what are you doing? That guy was talking to Mother like that, and you just stood by and did nothing?"
Ba Wanshi expressed her strong dissatisfaction with Beryl for stopping her from killing Boggart. Boggart's contemptuous remarks about Morgan after achieving his goal with Black Spear greatly displeased her, and the little princess's patience had reached its limit.
"Calm down, we still need that Boggart guy on our side."
"Stupid, disgusting! I'd rather live in a tattered basket than accept even the slightest bit of charity from this guy who insulted my mother!"
"No, no, Your Highness, you've got it wrong. What we need isn't Boggart's charity. We've already gotten everything we could. The only useful part of this guy is his body."
Beryl gave a cold laugh; his glasses reflected the light, obscuring his eyes.
"Ugh, that's disgusting, Beryl. What you're saying makes me think you want to gouge out that White Lion. But it does suit it, doesn't it? No matter what the decoration is, black and white is always a classic combination."
When it really comes down to it, I'll be the first to watch the show.
Beryl smiled wryly and changed the subject, but a sense of frustration welled up inside him. He could sense that Ba Wanshi was slipping further and further away from his control.
Sigh, what a troublesome woman; the only solution is to squeeze every last drop of value out of her as quickly as possible.
"Hey, Ba Wanshi, want to learn a new Magecraft that can give that guy an extremely gruesome death?"
That was Magecraft passed down from a witch in the Beryl Gat family, an extremely cruel Magecraft that cost the user's soul. Although he didn't want to use it in this situation, Ba Wanshi was no longer worth his continued attention, and was even becoming a destabilizing factor.
At that moment, Ba Wanshi's attack suddenly struck the fairy's back with incredible speed. Boggart couldn't react in time. The strength of this guy was worlds apart from that of the Grand Duke of Heat Discharge, but he no longer had the means to dream of such an ideal thing.
But in the next instant, Ba Wanxi's outstretched hand missed its target—or rather, it struck a piece of skin, a piece of skin that was constantly dissipating.
With a snap, Beryl's neck was gripped tightly, and he was slammed heavily against a tree.
The situation reversed instantly; the prey became the hunter.
"Varied..."
He instinctively tried to activate his Magecraft, but a powerful Magnetic Field Power surged from the fairy in front of him. The force was like a sharp scalpel, directly severing all of Beryl's Magic Circuits, which were crucial to him as Magecraft!
"Tristan..."
Tristan's demonic string had already slashed at the man, but it couldn't harm his body at all. Instead, it left Beryl's flesh and blood with cuts, like fish on a chopping board.
"You... you're not Boggart... who are you?"
"I am Beryl Gat, the largest shareholder of New Chaldea and an ally of Queen Morgan of the Fairy Britain. It's been quite a journey to see you."
"Huh? Mother's ally?!"
Upon hearing Bai Mo's words, Ba Wanxi immediately stopped attacking. She had been frantic since Morgan disappeared, and she would do anything to obtain even the slightest bit of information.
On the other side of the forest, Boggart, whose body had been altered, heard a loud noise not far away. He glanced at it but didn't look back.
Back when he made his deal with Bai Mo, he possessed the Mystic Code that Beryl had given him, which was used to obtain Bai Mo's materials during battles for Black Spear to analyze.
Boggart said nothing. As for Beryl's safety?
I wish him good luck.
And so, Bai Mo used Magnetic Field Power to disguise himself as a fairy, and carried this thing into the woods behind Sheffield. Beryl, completely unaware, delivered himself right to their doorstep.
"Hahaha, so you're from Chaldea. It's a misunderstanding, all a misunderstanding. You know I've always been an employee of Chaldea, and I'm old acquaintances of Olga Marie, and Mash."
Oh dear, what a mess this has become! I should be calling you boss.
Bai Mo, however, did not respond to Beryl's smile. Instead, he silently pinched one of Beryl's fingers, and then...
Snap! He twisted that finger off.
