A Scourge Lives for a Thousand Years
"Sigh, although I knew it would turn out this way, it's still a bit... sigh."
Woodwose sighed the whole way. Bai Mo thought it was because of Morgan's attitude towards him. Bai Mo also felt that Morgan had gone too far. Woodwose still only recognized the Queen's rule under these circumstances. Wasn't it inappropriate to make him go back to work so soon after his recovery?
Woodwose's lament was entirely different. Previously, Beryl was honored as the King's Consort, but no one in all of Britain had ever given this King's Consort a second glance, and everyone knew that Beryl and Morgan were only husband and wife in name, because Morgan almost never left the throne.
But Woodwose still really wants to fight for this position.
If Bai Mo knew what Woodwose was really thinking, he'd probably just find the guy's single-mindedness absurdly laughable. If you want that position, at least be nicer to Bawan Sheehan, Morgan's daughter.
"After all, Morgan's memories of the fairy were terrible, so there was nothing he could do about it."
As Bai Mo spoke, Woodwose nodded in agreement. After carefully examining Bai Mo, he also nodded.
"At least you're much stronger than that piece of trash, Beryl. Ha, you were able to take down Beryl when he obtained my power, and you even gave me the upper hand in our previous fight. At least I have to admit I respect you."
And the fact that you could tolerate that idiot Bavanshi, you're actually quite capable."
"What are you saying all of a sudden?"
Bai Mo said irritably as he walked to the door. Woodwose didn't say anything more; he had been trying very hard to control his anger and maintain his rationality, and he had expected this situation.
"Hey, what's your name? I don't even know yours."
"Bai Mo."
"Bai Ermo?"
"... Bai Mo, straighten your tongue."
"I can't help how my tongue is shaped, but tell me, how can I get His Majesty to treat me like this?"
"Treat it like this? How?"
Bai Mo was a little puzzled, feeling that the two were having an odd conversation. Then Woodwose exclaimed, "Exactly! What would it take to make His Majesty fall in love?"
Bai Mo frowned slightly. Although Woodwose's question was somewhat strange, he still pondered for a moment. Memories of Orkney flooded back, including the knight's last words...
"That's unlikely. At least before Britain was saved, she wouldn't have had those kinds of feelings... Well, in that respect, I'm quite similar to her, but her obsession is much more frightening than mine."
If someone were to confess their love to her, it feels like her first words would be. "To win my love, you'd better offer up Britain first."
As Bai Mo spoke, Woodwose pondered for a moment, considering the current situation in Britain, and looked at his body, which had been whipped almost to the point of being dried up.
"Never mind then. Sigh, even if His Majesty had just agreed, I'd just be another Beryl. You've had it pretty tough too."
Oh well, at least I placed a double bet earlier.
"Double-head betting?"
"Yes, I've been sending Aurora a precious jewel worth over a million Morgan Pound cocktails every week. Since it's not working out with His Majesty, I'll go back to Aurora."
"Seriously, when you're dating, find someone with a normal brain! Don't be a simp!"
Bai Mo suspected that Aurora possessed some kind of trait that caused anyone who harbored feelings of affection for her to rapidly decline in intelligence and quickly become a sycophant...
If Melusine hadn't jumped in the opposite direction, Bai Mo would have really had to use the Imperial Extremity Shocks the World Calculation to see if Aurora had the same physique as Mizuki Hitomi.
Unfortunately, Woodwose didn't seem to be listening to Bai Mo's words, saying something like, "Aurora is very gentle, not as bad as you say. Don't speak ill of the beautiful Miss Aurora..."
She spouted nonsense like "she's different" and left.
Bai Mo was speechless, but at least Woodwose was someone who could distinguish the situation clearly. When faced with the big picture, he wasn't like Melusine back then; he was still clear-headed.
On the other side, almost all the Northern Fairies were vaporized by Morgan's attack, but quite a few still survived. After all, Knocknarea's strategy was an encirclement tactic, and Morgan only needed to destroy the main force of the Northern Fairies and decapitate them.
But in the end, Knocknarea's final instructions were passed on, so the remaining northern fairies vowed to take the heads of those two damned spies, Spriggan and Aurora.
A burly goblin, carrying a machete, lay prone on the ground, tracking the scent.
"Hmph, it's probably around here. I've already taken care of that Spriggan guy. Aurora, stop hiding and come out to face your end."
The goblins were furious. Spriggan's position was obviously not going to be spared; falling into the hands of those enraged goblins would mean a fate worse than death.
Especially when the fairies, halfway through their commotion, discovered that Spriggan was actually human.
"Hehe, I'm even more excited now."
It's pitiful that this guy, who's already in his thirties, has to suffer such horrific torment.
However, Aurora, this troublemaker, managed to break out under Lancelot's cover. As a knight who had rescued people from execution grounds, he was quite familiar with this tactic and successfully led Aurora away.
Not far away, a bright blue light appeared, and Lancelot charged straight at him. The Arondight shone with dazzling brilliance. Although sneak attacks were despicable, his opponent was not a knight, or even a human, so there was no need to obey.
The Arondight, as if welded, cleaved the massive cleaver in two, along with the fairy behind it. Lancelot followed up with several sword strikes, dismembering the man before him into eight pieces.
After completing all this, he sheathed his sword and bowed slightly in one direction. Although he appeared disheveled, the France knight's every word and action exuded romance.
This is also why Aurora likes him.
"The enemy has been dealt with, Aurora. You may come out now."
Lancelot took Aurora's hand and helped her up. Aurora smiled, but seeing that smile, Lancelot felt no joy.
Everything that had just happened confirmed one thing for him: the woman in front of him, despite her beautiful appearance, was actually a menace.
"Sir, I will send you to Salisbury; our kindness will be a legendary tale."
"Hehe, of course. Now, find me a carriage, my knight."
Lancelot felt a pang of pain in his heart. Was this guy completely oblivious to what he meant, or was he pretending not to understand?
Well, everything will have to wait Aurora returns to Salisbury. Until then, I can still enjoy her beauty in these last moments.
