A Dream of Youth
The Water Mirror shone brightly, and behind that radiance, figures emerged. Bai Mo and his group returned directly to their base in New Darlington. Ritsuka and the other Magecraft were all shocked by this spatial teleportation Magecraft, and Bai Mo's surprise was no less than theirs.
"Spatial teleportation, and it's a Magecraft device that can move as soon as it's set up—that's amazing! Da Vinci, is this even considered Magecraft?"
"This will probably only be answered when Human History has progressed to a certain point." In Chaldea, Da Vinci's words were filled with intense curiosity, as if he couldn't wait to go and study the workings of this thing.
"It's just some simple applications. Chaldea, which has already developed Spiritron Transfer and Imaginary Number Dive, shouldn't be excited about this kind of thing." Morgan looked relaxed, as if it were just a matter of 'moving a finger,' while Bai Mo leaned closer with a curious expression.
"Morgan, this is really amazing. Can it be deployed over a large area? How much strain does teleportation require? Is it very energy-consuming to maintain it for a long time? Can we place some in that world?"
Bai Mo's eyes almost lit up. He could hardly believe that if this fixed spatial teleportation technology could be widely used among the people, traffic congestion would disappear and communication between those Lostbelt in space would become much more convenient.
The power lines had just been installed over there. Although each Lostbelt had its own transportation routes, there were still virtually no modern highways that could actually cross the wilderness and high mountains.
Not everyone can fly or teleport like those with Magnetic Field Power; many people still rely on horse-drawn carriages for transportation. If the Water Mirror could be used as a form of public transport...
Bai Mo never really cared about local ideological governance. As long as it didn't turn into something like Russia, where people put his statue next to Jesus for worship, Bai Mo generally wouldn't interfere. He would only correct erroneous and extreme thinking and promote cultural exchange.
But when it comes to people's livelihood and development, he cares a lot. He Lostbelt in, and he has to let them develop well and improve the quality of life for the people here.
This was the first time Morgan had seen Bai Mo so eager. After a moment's thought, he grabbed Bai Mo's hand without hesitation and replied rather forcefully:
"This is an issue we can discuss properly. I previously granted you the authority to use the Water Mirror Magecraft, but if we want to extend it to such a vast area, it would be a huge undertaking for me to set it up by myself."
"I will do my best to meet your needs."
Morgan's lips curved into a smile, like the confident smile of someone who had already secured victory and the gold medal in a sporting competition.
"You said it yourself~"
Upon receiving Morgan's assurance, Bai Mo felt a surge of excitement. Even if it was just setting up one of each of the five Lostbelt as a long-distance transportation hub, it would be an excellent outcome.
Seeing this, Ritsuka muttered to herself, "What's with this weird atmosphere of conversation, like we're about to be subjected to some kind of unspoken rule?"
Back in New Darlington, Bai Mo first went to settle the humans. Somewhat unexpectedly, Morgan also came along this time, half-dragging Bavan Sheehan along as well.
She used to treat fairies like livestock, but in the future, these humans will be her subjects. She can't treat them like fairies, and she needs to change her perception of Bavan Shi.
Inside the mansion in New Darlington, everyone took a bath and then went to rest. Artoria took the initiative to comfort the prisoners of war, and Ritsuka also volunteered to help. The two of them led Knocknarea to a room.
Caster couldn't help but sigh at how quickly her status had changed. Before, she was just a village girl, while Knocknarea was the dignified Queen of the North. Now, the queen had become a prisoner.
However, she volunteered for this job because she didn't want Morgan to take on the responsibility. If Morgan were in charge of the prisoners of war, then Knocknarea might really be left with a lot of unpleasant memories.
"Tsk, the owner of this room has terrible taste! Red everywhere, it looks like they used blood as paint. Hey, can't you find another room?"
Caster, seeing that Knocknarea still maintained her haughty demeanor, put on a helpless expression. "Even if you say that, we are still just living under someone else's roof. Although it might be possible to bring it up with Bai Mo, you are somewhat acting like a prisoner."
Anyone who didn't know better would think you were here as a guest!
Hearing Caster's words, Knocknarea showed no obedience whatsoever. Even as a prisoner, she remained the proud Queen of the North.
"The attitude of a prisoner is true; I am indeed a prisoner of your power right now, but Morgan won't really treat me like one. She won't actually kill me."
As for the previous hostile actions, it was simply because she suddenly disappeared, and I was preparing to fulfill my promise. I possess the legitimate right to inherit Britain, a fact she cannot refute.
So, treating me as a guest here isn't entirely wrong... Well, although things have come to this, my army has suffered heavy losses, and I have little chance of inheriting the throne."
As Knocknarea spoke, she sat on the sofa with her legs crossed, making it seem as if she were in her own home.
"It's really embarrassing. Back in Gloucester, we made a promise to see who would achieve their dream first, but now it seems like my dream is hopeless."
And you? Judging from your appearance, you must have done a lot of work to help the dragon, right?
At this point, Ritsuka looked at Caster with a curious expression and asked, "Um, Caster, what is your dream?"
Below New Darlington, Bai Mo and Morgan checked everyone over before turning to confirm the trade transactions for the next month. Fortunately, they had run into Peperoncino back in Norwich.
"Thank you for your help. It's good that you came to Britain beforehand to lay a good foundation."
"It's nothing, it's my honor to be of help. More importantly... has Beryl been dealt with?"
Peperoncino asked, Bai Mo nodded, a hint of helplessness in his voice. "That bastard disgusted us all before he died. Although Dr. Roman is now in charge of Mash's mental health, I still hope you can talk to her."
"I felt disgusted. What did Beryl do?"
He confessed his feelings to Mash.
"Oh... okay, I'll go get some fruit cakes to bring Mash some goodnight." Peperoncino stood up, giving Bai Mo a wink and glancing towards the room next door.
"By the way, Mr. Bai Mo, besides me, there's another person here... who claims to be a friend of Ritsuka and the others, and wants to have a chat with you."
