A hidden threat
The hospital in Mifune City is never short of customers. It's hard to say whether that's a good thing or a bad thing. All that's known is that it's the best hospital in Mifune City. At least, when the rich and powerful are in trouble, they all choose to go here.
Two nurses pushed a cart into the elevator lobby; this was a rare moment of conversation during their workday.
"Have you heard? A new doctor has come to the hospital. It's said that every patient he treats recovers quickly. I heard he's only been here for less than half a month, and his performance record is already higher than most other doctors."
"Is that the new male doctor? I didn't expect there to be such an excellent doctor besides Mr. Araya, and he's quite handsome too."
"Don't even think about it. Every time he gets off work, there's a gothic girl waiting for him outside. That girl is super pretty and young. Ah, that's great. I wish I could be as young and pretty as her, and have such a handsome boyfriend."
The elevator slowly scrolled through the floors, and soon the doors opened, revealing a white-haired girl in a nun's habit waiting outside.
"Miss Caren, are you going to lunch?"
Caren replied, "No, I was just bringing lunch for some guy with a disordered sleep schedule, and also checking on those poor... excuse me, I was just helping him maintain a normal nutritional intake."
As the nurse stepped out of the elevator, Caren wore a business license around her neck, her work certificate as an intern assistant. After Caren went down the elevator, the two nurses still seized this last opportunity to chat.
"Miss Caren is very cute, and she's said to be a genius; it's amazing that she's so young to be able to work here."
"But she always has such a cold demeanor."
A short while later, Caren arrived at the door of an attending physician's office with a lunchbox. Bai Mo, now dressed in a lab coat, sat in a chair looking at the patient before him. His face twitched, and unease was written all over his face.
Bai Mo pretended to roll his eyes, but he already knew the man's illness: encephalitis, excessive physical fatigue, insufficient nutrition, and long-term work pressure. This condition could very likely develop into epilepsy.
"Doctor, am I alright?"
The man looked frightened. Bai Mo entered the patient's data into the computer and said casually, "You had some symptoms before, right? Why did you only come now?"
The man gave a somewhat embarrassed smile and said, "I didn't notice before, it was an oversight."
Bai Mo opened the man's data. This man's child had been transferred out of the hospital some time ago, since not everyone could afford the high hospital fees.
This man was quite smart to come here for treatment; he didn't try to cut corners just because he was short of money, and he knew where he shouldn't skimp on expenses.
"Doctor, what's wrong with me?"
In this situation, one would generally need to be hospitalized immediately, which would cost a lot of money. Bai Mo withdrew his hand, and a Magnetic Field Power quietly surged into his brain.
"A severe cold combined with fatigue could have led to hospitalization if it had dragged on. You're lucky it hasn't come to that."
Bai Mo casually prescribed him some cheap cold medicine and said, "After you get the medicine, find a place with hot water nearby and take it. It should take effect quickly, but you can't overexert yourself. Your child was hospitalized here before, right? Bring him over later, and I'll take a look at him too."
The man glanced at the bill and breathed a sigh of relief; the price was much lower than he had expected and was perfectly acceptable.
Thank you, doctor.
The man left, took the medicine, and the Magnetic Field Power that Bai Mo had implanted in his body quietly took effect. Soon, his brain symptoms returned to normal, and even his body felt relaxed.
On the other side, Caren closed the door and said, "This is the last one for today, isn't it? Being a doctor is really nice. Those poor patients tormented by illness are truly fascinating."
"You seem to be enjoying yourself."
Caren placed a report in front of Bai Mo, her face beaming with pride, and said, "Look, this is the pre-employment letter the dean gave me. It says I can start working here as soon as I graduate."
Bai Mo clapped for her and said, "Great job, Caren! Is there anywhere you'd like to go tonight? This is something to celebrate!"
"Don't give me that. That dean only gave me this because he's afraid you'll quit. But once I've learned all your pharmacology knowledge, I'll quit immediately. That man's expression will be priceless then."
Upon arriving in Mifune City, the system remained silent. Therefore, it seemed that Bai Mo could only prioritize finding Touko Aozaki, whom Kiritsugu had asked for Kiritsugu. Searching for her one by one would be too troublesome, and she was likely to have many spies in the city. According to Kiritsugu's information, Touko Aozaki was currently wanted by the Clock Tower's Sealing Designation.
So if he made any big moves, she would run away like a frightened kitten. Coincidentally, the hospital received Touko Aozaki's resume, so Bai Mo asked Kiritsugu to help him forge a doctor's identity and enter the hospital.
As for Caren, Bai Mo taught her medical knowledge in his spare time, and now she could become a good doctor even if she left the Church. Bai Mo persuaded Caren to accept the teaching by saying, "Since it's all about atoning for sins, isn't it the same to help patients get rid of their illnesses?"
Initially resistant, she accepted it after seeing the patients tormented by illness. Bai Mo gradually discovered that she seemed to have hidden sadistic tendencies and seemed to find great... pleasure in the suffering of the patients.
At least in her heart, she no longer saw being violated as the only way to atone for her sins, and everything seemed to be developing in a positive direction.
"By the way, the dean said you don't need to see any more patients for a while."
"What's wrong? This hospital can't possibly be brought to a standstill by a few bottles of my cold medicine, can it?"
Caren stuck out her tongue playfully and said, "No, wasn't there a Sleeping Beauty at the hospital before? Apparently, the director couldn't stand it anymore and wanted you to try your luck. That's great, Bai Mo. You'd better control yourself and not take advantage of sleeping patients, or..."
After saying that, Caren rubbed her legs against Bai Mo, but he didn't react at all. He just took the lunchbox and ate like a machine.
While eating, he asked, "Sleeping Beauty? Is there such a person in the hospital?"
Caren, resting her chin on her hand, replied somewhat displeased, "Yes, after all, Bai Mo, you have absolutely no social life. She's practically a celebrity in the hospital, Sleeping Beauty and her puppy boyfriend, tsk tsk tsk, you'd better keep your composure, or you'll end up playing the role of an incompetent husband."
Bai Mo flicked Caren on the forehead, put down the lunchbox that had been washed sometime earlier, and said, "I'll go first then. I don't want to waste so much time on a living dead person. Um, what's her name?"
As Bai Mo approached the private ward, he looked at the sign above it and couldn't help but feel uneasy.
Is it a coincidence?
Shiki Ryougi, from the Japan perspective, is a very good name, combining Yin and Yang with the Shiki (Ryougi) of a shikigami (spirit).
Upon opening the door, everything around him suddenly changed. Bai Mo found himself surrounded by a Dahai. The sea breeze blew in, and the portal behind him had vanished. This was the training space Bai Mo had previously visited.
But what's going on this time? The system hadn't sent any messages, and suddenly, as if setting a trap, it brought him here. Bai Mo looked around. This wasn't the space of the Great Saber or Oga; everything around him exuded a fierce and murderous aura.
The feeling is like that of a shark.
"Hey kid, what are you doing looking around like that?"
A middle-aged man's voice came from afar, and the next moment a force pushed him directly into the sea.
Beneath the calm surface of the sea lurked countless bloodthirsty sharks, each possessing the strength of nearly half a million horses. They opened their gaping maws and charged towards Bai Mo, ready to pounce.
Faced with such a massive shark, Bai Mo dared not be careless. He struck the shark's head with both hands, but was directly hit by the force of 480,000 horses. Bai Mo activated Whale Dominates the World, using the force to escape from the water. At the same time, Limitless Tremor Zen immediately turned the shark into minced meat.
These beasts, which possess only brute force and no Complete Realm power, can be dealt with with a force of 250,000 units.
"Oh dear, how dare you bully my pet like this, brat! It seems I, the Heavenly King, have no choice but to punish you."
The next moment, an incredibly powerful force struck him, a terrifying force exceeding nine hundred thousand horsepower, hitting Bai Mo and sending him plummeting straight down. His opponent seemed unwilling to kill him now; the force of two hundred and fifty thousand horsepower was forcibly sealed, only able to exert the power of Electric Current Push.
Below, a group of sharks opened their blood-red mouths. These things posed a great threat to Bai Mo, but it was far less than the threat posed by the person in the distance.
On a distant cliff, an old man dressed in vacation-style clothes, wearing trendy sunglasses, was smoking a cigar. Bai Mo immediately recognized him; this was probably the biggest crisis he had ever faced.
This is unbelievable! How did I end up in this madman's hands? I'm really doomed now.
"Hey, what kind of look is that? You're so respectful to Great Saber and Oga, but when you see me, you look like I've eaten shit?"
Two machetes were placed under his seat. The bald old man's eyes gleamed with ferocity, and his smiling face concealed a murderous intent.
The owner of this space is none other than him— the Giant Shark Heavenly King.
