There, Li Shihai called her his child and ordered her to kill other children, describing them as vermin. She recognized them as people and resisted his demands. Survival on Garbage Mountain

Bai Jing takes Song Xiaozhu in, giving her shelter and protection within the Scavenger Community. Physically weak and conspicuous as an outsider, she disguises her appearance and avoids crowds while scavenging. Her damaged Synthesizer initially provides tools rather than meaningful direct combat power 2 16.

When Shang Bao targets her during Bai Jing’s absence, she prepares immobilizing candy rather than planning to kill him. A later recollection establishes that Qiu Shuyu accidentally kills Shang Bao; Song Xiaozhu protects her from bearing responsibility and synthesizes his corpse into fertilizer. The incident brings the two girls closer and exposes Song Xiaozhu’s unusual crafting ability to Qiu Shuyu 13 15 278.

Song Xiaozhu begins selling enhanced stone axes through the logging camp and recruits Tian Man and Luo Liuzi as collaborators. Threats from the Shang family convince her that survival requires stronger connections, greater resources, and a repaired Synthesizer—not merely waiting for Bai Jing’s protection 48 52 56 67.

Establishing Herself in Liu Family Village

Her anti-inflammatory medicine saves wounded villagers in Liu Family Village. She offers 4,000 tablets over six days for 400 yuan, accepting a price that barely covers the urgent gathering commission because she intends to retain the surplus raw materials. Bai Jing initially offers to take credit for the medicine to conceal her involvement 91 102.

Opening a shop in the village breaks the Scavenger Community’s supply leverage. Song Xiaozhu recognizes that this risks escalating its conflict with District Chief Hu, then secures Mu Qing’s cooperation through a recurring order for 2,000 axes per month. She also refuses to abandon Tian Man and Luo Liuzi when they are endangered 103 113 115 116.

Once settled, she demonstrates weapon production to Xiao Yunjie and Liu Xuangang and manufactures more than 3,000 steel sabers in a day. The village plans to arm its guards and households, while Song Xiaozhu raises Deer Town as a possible refuge if the temples fail 136 147.

Defending the Base

After the isolation zone is breached, Song Xiaozhu helps turn the village into a defensible base through weapons, traps, warehouses, communications, and construction. Her role grows beyond supplying goods: villagers increasingly regard her as their spiritual leader 154 211 213.

She chooses to remain with the village despite threats from the Three Kills Gang, the God-Favored squad, and Fan Cang. Against Fan Cang, she deploys a light shield and Quantum Anti-Aircraft Cannons. Wider Reconstruction and the Ending

Song Xiaozhu’s ambitions expand to settling survivors across the ninety-nine testing grounds. She coordinates roads and interconnected bases, supplies soil purifiers, and helps villagers reclaim farmland rather than pursuing supremacy through the God-Favored’s slaughter competition 281 283 291.

During her recovered Hatching Nest memories, she and Li Shijian resolve to destroy the Synthesizer. His proposal that she inherit it by killing synthesized people places their shared objective in conflict with her refusal to advance through slaughter 296.

By the ending, Xiao He connects communities through the Tree of Technology and the Radiance of Humanity. Song Xiaozhu eventually restores the Synthesizer to level 6 only after cleansing its remaining fragments, preserving the principle that Xiao He should reclaim them without the taint of killing 302.

Despite her soft-spoken manner, she values independence. Tian Man and Luo Liuzi recognize that she is unlikely to accept permanent subordination; even her attachment to Bai Jing resembles affection for an elder rather than obedience to a superior.
