After his initiation brought the Northern Emperor’s Blessing and a breakthrough to the fourth rank, he turned to new secret methods and faced another challenge from Leng Wuming.

• Zhou Wuji defeated a Ghost General at White Sand Bay, won Leng Wuming’s Cold Light Sword in their wager, and returned to Jingyang Upper Court.
• Zhang Dingyang accused Zhou Wuji of extortion, but Zhou Wuji used records and a Water Mirror recording to expose Zhang Cheng’s lie and beheaded him in Heavenly Pivot Hall.
• The imperial court honored Zhou Wuji as Dharma Master Hongde, and he chose a hundred days in the Heavenly Pillar Treasure Light Grotto-Heaven as his reward.
• Zhou Wuji survived the grotto-heaven’s heart-demon illusion, reached Fifth Rank Perfection, and later defeated Yan Wudong in a public sword spar.

Zhou Wuji hunted down Xue Feng, learned the Army-Breaking Sword, and won first place at the Jingyang Dharma Assembly before defeating Pei Zhengxiu. He joined Xie Lingyun’s Fire Phoenix Army at Golden Sands Fort, where he met Yin Le, a princess whose identity remained a guarded secret.

• Zhou Wuji used the innkeeper as bait to ambush and kill Xue Feng, then reported letters about a possible Nine Yin Earth Eye to True Person Zhihua.
• Zhou Wuji and Wuleng guarded the Lapis Lazuli Grotto-Heaven, where she secretly taught him the Army-Breaking Sword and he perfected it after hunting Demon Beasts.
• Zhou Wuji challenged the Main Court’s attempt to claim places at the Jingyang Dharma Assembly, then won the crowd over with his Big Dipper Scripture ceremony.
• Zhou Wuji defeated Xinkong and Xinru in the Dharma contests, won first place, and received major rewards including a place as a True Disciple Candidate.
• Zhou Wuji defeated Pei Zhengxiu in their duel, spared him, and prepared to join Xie Lingyun’s campaign against the barbarians near Yue Ridge.
• Wang Mingzhen demanded that Xie Lingyun’s troops accommodate her and Yin Le at Golden Sands Fort, while Zhou Wuji suspected their attendants included powerful guards.

Zhou Wuji defeated the barbarians, strengthened his standing through healing and public assemblies, and took charge of the Cloud Dragon Lower Court. After killing Devil Cultivators with the dangerous Book of Heavenly Punishment, he received a summons to the Northern Pole main court and arrived at the sect’s ancestral seat.

• Zhou Wuji helped the Fire Phoenix Army defeat Tie Ying’s barbarian forces at Golden Sands Fort, then treated the wounded and forced Wang Mingzhen to confess to her unauthorized visit.
• Zhou Wuji escorted Yin Le to Jingyang, where she gave him the Azure Cloud Treasure Robe, and he later received the Tianshu Sword as an imperial reward.
• Zhou Wuji held Dharma assemblies near Jingyang, then entered the Nine Yin Underground Palace and killed Yin Devils to advance his cultivation before returning for the New Year.
• Zhou Wuji traveled to Yunyang to take charge of the Cloud Dragon Lower Court, overcame Lu Zhijing’s resistance, and compensated the dock workers injured in the earlier incident.

Zhou Wuji joined Su Wuyi and Shui Wushang in the Thousand Spirits Mountain Secret Realm, where they killed the snake demon and claimed Dragon Saliva Grass. Back at the sect, he wagered for the Third Rank Army-Breaking Sword by challenging Yuheng to seven consecutive duels, defeating five challengers as Ye Wuque prepared to fight him last.

• Zhou Wuji received the Northern Pole Sword Secret Method, settled into Fallen Blossoms Lodge, and began his six months of free cultivation.
• Zhou Wuji cured Su Wuyi’s spirit monkey, refined Jade Liquid Pills, and agreed to help her and Shui Wushang obtain Dragon Saliva Grass from the Thousand Spirits Mountain Secret Realm.
• Zhou Wuji defeated Zhou Yichun in a sword match inside the secret realm, then helped kill the snake demon and escaped the valley with Su Wuyi and Shui Wushang.
