Ye Jiang helped City A survive the outbreak, where Ming Chun regained her sanity and returned to Ming Xia. She then traveled to sealed City S with a group seeking medicine, where Xiao Pei's ambush on the Blood Knight failed and Ye Jiang approached him alone.

• Ye Jiang worked at Xiao Pei's restaurant as contamination spread through City A, and Xiao Pei defeated a drum-headed Class A contaminant.
• Mushroom Man advanced on City A while Xiao Pei fought Yan Pei, and Ye Jiang helped evacuate citizens before returning to the city gate.
• Ye Jiang tore a dark lump from Mushroom Man, who transformed into Ming Chun and reunited with Ming Xia before Nurse crushed the remaining flesh.
• Ye Jiang refused Zhao Yi's offer to join the Ability Control Bureau, heard Ming Chun's account, and took a paid job traveling to City S with Ji Jia.

Ye Jiang and the survivors faced the Blood Knight and Writer’s attacks in City S, while Nurse revealed her true power and defeated Writer. After returning to City A, Ye Jiang resumed taking jobs as the Ability Control Bureau investigated her unusual strength and healing ability.

• Ye Jiang took the Blood Knight’s sword, then led her group to New City, where she forced Peaceful Village’s healer to treat the injured and escaped the Blood Knight’s fiery assault with Xiao Pei’s help.
• Ye Jiang fought the Blood Knight at City S intersection, and the cracked helmet revealed Chen Zhuozhuo, whose memories returned and who destroyed her own head after realizing Writer had manipulated her.
• Ye Jiang repaired Chen Zhuozhuo’s body, while Xiao Pei and the survivors remained trapped in the city and faced a new assault by Bandage Man, whom Ye Jiang subdued.

After Yun Hua confessed to abducting and killing contestants to steal their abilities, sudden rank losses and a new contamination left City A facing another threat.
