A way to make money
"Remnant Essence Scripture."
The cultivation method the eldest princess had given him had an extremely simple name. Looking over the method itself, he found that it was an Essence-Nurturing Art.
Seemingly well aware of Su Mu's circumstances, the eldest princess had given him a rather simple cultivation method, one that was extremely easy to get started with. It did, however, have a flaw.
He could not cultivate it to any particularly profound level.
Or rather, the method had no particularly profound levels to begin with.
But for Su Mu, this was already enough.
After memorizing the cultivation method in his mind, Su Mu sought out that thread in the Unseen. He plucked it and successfully returned to Earth.
"Huh?"
The moment he returned to Earth, Su Mu froze.
The cultivation method in his mind was actually still there!
This!!!
At this discovery, Su Mu was overwhelmed with joy. If the cultivation method had not remained, he would have needed to keep traveling between the two worlds to study it.
Now that the cultivation method had actually come back with him, cultivating would be much easier!
It was like having an indicator constantly helping him and giving him prompts as he cultivated.
Naturally, cultivating this way would be far easier.
Su Mu could not help letting out a cheer. Then he hurriedly calmed himself and began cultivating.
After laboriously settling into a cross-legged position, Su Mu closed his eyes and tried to sense heaven and earth.
This sort of sensing was quite difficult. He needed to empty his mind, and only after feeling a sense of utter nothingness could he sense the faintest traces of Spiritual Power.
But after trying for ages, Su Mu had already reached that state of nothingness and still could not sense any Spiritual Power at all. He immediately felt rather dispirited.
"What's going on? Why can't I sense even a trace of Spiritual Power?"
Su Mu felt somewhat at a loss. He was certain he had cultivated according to the instructions, so why was it not working?
"Could it be that there's no Spiritual Power on Earth?"
At this thought, Su Mu's expression instantly changed in alarm. If that was the case, would the cultivation method he had obtained not be rendered useless?
The more he thought about it, the more anxious Su Mu became.
In his anxiety, Su Mu hurried back to the Immortal Cultivation Realm and sought out Xiao Wu to ask her about it.
From Xiao Wu, Su Mu then learned something extremely important.
Wherever there was Spiritual Power, the trees would grow far more densely than elsewhere, and medicinal herbs would grow there as well.
Hearing this, Su Mu immediately had some ideas.
If that was the case, did it not mean that he might only find Spiritual Power by cultivating deep in the mountains and ancient forests?
Having thought this through, Su Mu returned to Earth again. He planned to test it out; he had rather had enough of his body on Earth.
It was already late September, and in another few months, it would be time for the New Year.
If he did not work hard at cultivating now, even going home would become a problem. Su Mu did not want his parents to worry.
Soon, Su Mu bought a pair of supports. Walking was quite difficult for him, and with these two supports, getting around would be much easier.
Then Su Mu took a taxi to the most famous park in the city.
The park had originally been a mountain, and it usually drew quite a few visitors.
Seeing that Su Mu had trouble getting around, the driver was quite helpful and offered to take him to his destination.
But Su Mu did not actually have a destination at the moment, so he could only politely decline the driver's offer.
There were quite a few groups of people in the park. Seeing Su Mu with two crutches, they merely assumed he had come for rehabilitation exercises and did not give him any strange looks.
Soon, after tiring himself out making his way through the park, Su Mu found his destination.
It was a small clearing a little below the mountainside. Most people stuck to the main paths, so presumably no one would disturb him if he cultivated here.
Moreover, after observing the area, Su Mu felt that this might be a place with Spiritual Power, because he sensed a pull here.
Su Mu found a seat nearby, sat cross-legged, and immediately entered meditation.
This time, he entered meditation much faster than before. Then Su Mu sensed little traces of coolness sinking into his body one after another.
As his body ebbed away bit by bit, Su Mu felt a slight heat spread through him, but it was not unpleasant. Instead, it felt somewhat comfortable.
Just as Su Mu was experiencing this sensation, he suddenly felt as though all the surrounding Spiritual Power had been absorbed. Not the slightest trace of the earlier sensation remained.
"What's going on?"
Su Mu opened his eyes and looked around. This time, he sensed it even more clearly: there truly was no Spiritual Power left nearby. It had all been absorbed earlier.
Checking the time, he found that two hours had passed.
At this, Su Mu wanted to cry but had no tears.
All the Spiritual Power he had just absorbed did not even amount to a single drop of water!
At this rate, he would be cultivating until the year of the monkey and the month of the horse!
Su Mu gritted his teeth and stood up. Surely this enormous park had more than just this one spot with Spiritual Power?
With that thought, Su Mu immediately got moving, searching for other places with Spiritual Power where he could cultivate.
By the time a day had passed, Su Mu had explored the entire park, and there were only three places with Spiritual Power in total.
None of those three places had much Spiritual Power, and Su Mu had absorbed every last trace of it.
As for the first spot, when Su Mu returned to check several hours after leaving, he still could not sense even a trace of Spiritual Power.
In other words, once the Spiritual Power had been completely absorbed, it would probably take a very long time to recover.
And now, despite having cultivated for so long, it was as though Su Mu had not cultivated at all.
“This is just too frustrating. If only I could bring back the Spirit Stones from the Immortal Cultivation Realm.”
Whenever Su Mu thought about this, he could not help sighing repeatedly.
Su Mu felt that just those few Spirit Stones would be enough to get him started.
With the tiny amount of Spiritual Power available here, he had to spend ages absorbing it, and the results were only better than nothing.
But what else could he do? Having finally obtained this cultivation method, he could hardly refuse to cultivate it.
Looking utterly miserable, Su Mu ate something on the street and then returned home.
He planned to go back to the Immortal Cultivation Realm to take a look, then return and continue searching for places to cultivate.
With a shift of his thoughts, Su Mu returned to the Immortal Cultivation Realm the next moment.
After calling Xiao Wu over, Su Mu smiled. "There's a way to earn some silver. Interested?"
"Earn silver? How?"
Xiao Wu had been a little bewildered, but she immediately perked up at his words.
"Write out that prayer from before and take it out to sell. I'll give you a share!"
Earlier, Xiao Wu had explained something to Su Mu: calligraphy containing Righteous Qi belonged exclusively to its holder.
Unless the holder permitted someone else to write it out, the resulting calligraphy would not contain Righteous Qi.
And without Righteous Qi, it could not count as a calligraphic treasure.
So, if Su Mu was willing, he could indeed make money from this calligraphic treasure.
