Personality

Bibi Dong is authoritative and intolerant of challenges to her position. When Qian Renxue refuses an undercover assignment, she insists that her authority as Pope allows her to make whatever arrangements she pleases. She then uses her plans for Lin Gu’s succession to deny Qian Renxue’s claim to the position 15.

Her treatment of Lin Gu is markedly warmer. She laughs at his proposed attack-exchange game, indulges his requests to take turns, and carefully restrains her strength to avoid injuring him. After confirming his talent, she promises Spirit Hall’s finest resources and orders Chrysanthemum Douluo to accommodate his requests wherever possible 13 14.

She can also revise her assessment when confronted with evidence. Although she initially treats Lin Gu’s challenge to Spirit Hall as youthful arrogance, she later acknowledges that his strength has entered the Titled Douluo realm and instructs the elders to stop holding back 29 30.

A recommendation from Spirit Hall’s Nuoding City branch draws Bibi Dong’s attention to Lin Gu’s breastplate Martial Soul, innate level-nine Soul Power, and thousand-year First Soul Ring. She sends Chrysanthemum Douluo to investigate his origins and bring him to the main hall 11.

At the Pope’s Palace, Lin Gu explains that his Equipment Slot Martial Soul grants equipment with each breakthrough. Bibi Dong agrees to exchange attacks with him to test its capabilities. Unknown to her, his two punches trigger Heartsteel, each granting him one billion HP and substantially strengthening the shield she is examining 12 13.

After breaking the refreshed shield with Titled Douluo-level power, she declares him a genius rarely seen in a thousand years and guarantees exceptional cultivation support 14.

Conflict over Qian Renxue and the Apprenticeship

Bibi Dong orders Qian Renxue to infiltrate the Heaven Dou Empire despite her objections that the mission will delay her cultivation. During their argument, she announces her intention to make Lin Gu her disciple and Holy Son, presenting him as an even greater genius than her daughter 15.
