"Me?"

Lin Bei pointed at himself.

Yang Jian nodded. "That's right. You."

"My earlier misjudgment caused the number of Buddha statues to stack up to this extent. The ghost at the source of the dream hasn't attacked us, not because it doesn't want to, but because it's restricted by this world inside the mirror. It can't cross over."

"As long as we drag it back into the dream, it'll attack us immediately. But at the same time, it'll be restricted by its own rules and possess no supernatural power."

"So he can be killed. Against supernatural power, no matter how big he is or how much area he covers, as long as he triggers a killing rule, he will die."

Yang Jian patted Lin Bei on the shoulder and said:

"We only have one chance. It's up to you. I'll point out the real ghost at the source of the dream the moment it appears."

Gradually, the chanting-like wails no longer rang in their ears, but filled the entire dream.

It sounded like countless people reciting scriptures, and like tens of thousands of corpses howling at once.

The sound shook the entire space until it faintly trembled.

Crack...

A faint cracking sound rang out. Yang Jian looked up at the ceiling. A thunderous rumble came from above. Something was falling, and it was incredibly fast.

Boom!!

An eerie Buddhist light came from nowhere, suddenly flooding the entire world. Its glare made it difficult for the three of them to open their eyes.

The entire world seemed to fall silent, utterly still.

When Yang Jian and the other two adjusted to the Buddhist light and opened their eyes again, they were astonished to find themselves on a street in Dachang City.

In the sky, sinister Buddhist light pierced down through the clouds. Accompanied by chanting-like wails, countless enormous Buddhas that blotted out the sky and sun forcibly tore the heavens apart, plummeting straight down from above the clouds.

"Lin Bei!"

Yang Jian called Lin Bei's name, his eyes fixed on the enormous Buddhas falling one after another from the sky.

"I'm here!"

Lin Bei stood up. Three completely different expressions appeared on his deathly pale face. His body was rapidly rotting, and livor mortis swiftly spread all over him. His ghost was reviving.

Just then, a gale swept down from overhead.

A gigantic palm descended from the sky.

The enormous hand blotted out the sky and sun as it pressed straight down toward the three of them, piercing the sky and passing through the clouds, whipping up countless air currents that made it difficult for them to open their eyes.

Yang Jian immediately said, "That's it! The first Buddha statue to attack us is the ghost at the source of this dream!"

High-rises collapsed, trees went flying, and countless buildings were crushed layer by layer beneath that enormous Buddha's hand.

Lin Bei climbed onto a heavy truck and raised his palm toward the sky, his eyes fixed on the enormous hand drawing ever closer.

As soon as they made contact, he could kill this enormous Buddha in an instant.

Yang Jian could already see the crisscrossing lines on the enormous Buddha's palm, but there was nothing he could do now. He could only watch helplessly as the enormous hand continued pressing down toward them.

The next second, contact began. Lin Bei's entire body shattered with a crash, an immense force crushing him in an instant.

Then came Yang Jian. His body abruptly split open, and blood gushed out.

His vision went black, and the entire world vanished.

He opened his eyes abruptly. Everything around him was scarlet, and his Ghost Domain was still deployed. Yang Jian was standing at the foot of Liu Jing's building, in the exact spot where he had been before he was dragged into the dream.

"It worked..."

Yang Jian had escaped that dream and successfully returned to reality.

The Ghost Eye in his forehead stirred faintly. His body had already broken into chunks of flesh, with his organs and bones exposed through the wounds.

He turned his head. Lin Bei lay behind him, his entire body mangled beyond recognition, like a puddle of rotten flesh spread across the snow.

Without any hesitation, intense red light instantly enveloped them both. Yang Jian immediately restarted himself and Lin Bei.

"Captain Yang!"

Lin Bei looked at his body in astonishment. He had actually been restored in an instant.

Yang Jian looked at him and said, "Come with me. The snow is starting to change."

The snowflakes in the sky grew denser and denser. Yang Jian could even feel the cold.

Before Lin Bei could speak, the intense scarlet radiance around them shot into the sky, flying swiftly toward Dachang City.

Meishan Village.

Xiao Yuan held a dagger, staring blankly at her surroundings. At the final moment of the dream, Yang Jian had laid her flat on the ground and shielded her. She had not been hurt.

Just then, a streak of red light sped over from the horizon. In mere moments, the whole of Meishan Village turned scarlet.

Carrying a billhook, Yang Jian walked out of the red light with Lin Bei.

"Xiao Yuan."

Xiao Yuan immediately ran up to him.

"Cousin! We did it!"

Yang Jian nodded. After confirming that Xiao Yuan was safe, he immediately took the two of them to the room where his father's memorial portrait was kept.

The three of them instantly appeared before Yang Jian's father's memorial portrait. The Ghost Eye stared fixedly at it, lest some further unexpected change occur.

Yang Jian walked forward and looked at Yang Xiao in the portrait. Nothing had changed from before. He bore a seventy- to eighty-percent resemblance to Yang Jian.

Yang Jian did not dare casually dismember the portrait with the billhook. He was unsure whether dismembering a consciousness-type ghost like this with the billhook would cause a backlash against his own consciousness as well.

He had no way to repair his consciousness. Faced with supernatural power of this level, Yang Jian chose a more cautious way of handling it.

He opened the gold body bag he carried with him and put everything on the table, including the memorial portrait, inside.

"Yang Jian, why did you only just get back? Keep your voice down. Your mother is already asleep."

Wang Shanshan opened the door and walked in. She had an inexplicable connection to Yang Jian, and had sensed him immediately after he returned to Meishan Village.

"Something held me up. Did anything strange happen in Meishan Village tonight?"

"Anything strange? No."

Wang Shanshan shook her head.

"A lot of staff came earlier, but they left after they couldn't find Xiao Yuan."

As Wang Shanshan spoke, she walked toward Xiao Yuan.

"Xiao Yuan, come back to Dachang City with us once this is over. Have Yang Jian find a doctor to give you a proper examination."

Yang Jian turned to Lin Bei and said, "Go guard the village entrance for the night. We'll leave tomorrow."

Lin Bei nodded, immediately went downstairs, and headed toward the village entrance.

Yang Jian pulled over a stool and sat in the middle of the room. He planned to keep watch here until dawn.

Wang Shanshan gave Yang Jian a worried look. She did not know what he had experienced tonight. Taking Xiao Yuan by the hand, she left the room.

Time passed, second by second.

The Ghost Hand gripped the billhook tightly. Intense scarlet light flickered constantly around him. The whole of Meishan Village glowed red, remaining within Yang Jian's Ghost Domain.

The sky gradually brightened. Suddenly, a rooster's crow broke the silence of Meishan Village.

Gradually, scattered footsteps sounded along the roads of Meishan Village. A few early-rising villagers were already up, preparing to work in the fields.

Yang Jian stood up. The red light contracted toward him from every direction. He picked up the body bag and went downstairs.

Xiao Yuan had said that if they could not kill the ghost before dawn, they would die. But it was light now, which meant that the ghost that had dragged Yang Jian into the dream was inside the body bag.

Holding Xiao Yuan's hand, Wang Shanshan had been waiting outside the main entrance since early that morning.

Just then, a car drove into the village and stopped outside Yang Jian's old family home. Leading the arrivals was a capable-looking middle-aged man.
