"Little San!"
"Xiao Jiu! Grandpa Jack!"
At the Blacksmith Shop, Hu Jiu saw Tang San waiting for them.
When Old Jack was preparing to take Tang San away, Tang San's face filled with reluctance. He stared at the dilapidated Earthen House for a long time, then left a line of words on the ground before finally following them away.
"Little San, don't worry. Uncle Tang Hao is a grown man. Why would you need to worry about him?" Hu Jiu patted Tang San's shoulder and comforted him.
"No, I'm just reluctant to leave." Tang San shook his head and silently put away his feelings of reluctance.
"Haha, it's nothing serious. At worst, Grandpa can go over there often to check on you."
"Xiao Jiu is right. Little San, don't worry anymore. From now on, I'll keep an eye on him for you. If he dares not to take good care of himself, I'll scold him for you." Old Jack, walking ahead of them, turned around and said this.
"Mm!"
The three of them spent half a day traveling. They reached Nuoding City shortly before noon, and after asking for directions several times, they finally found the Primary Soul Master Academy.
As soon as they arrived at the entrance, they were stopped by the Gatekeeper.
"What are you here for? Is this a place for country bumpkins like you?"
Seeing this, Hu Jiu did not interfere, since it concerned whether Tang San could find a teacher. If not for Tang San, Hu Jiu would have sent him flying with a single hammer long ago.
Old Jack smiled apologetically. "Little Brother, we're from Holy Soul Village. These two are our students enrolling this year. Could you tell us what procedures we need to complete?"
"From Holy Soul Village? That Small Village hasn't produced anyone with the talent to cultivate as a soul master for many years. Could a Golden Phoenix really emerge from a Grass Nest?" The Gatekeeper frowned and spoke sarcastically.
"Damn it, if you don't know how to speak, then shut up. Believe it or not, I'll send you flying with one hammer?" Just then, Hu Jiu's ears suddenly twitched. He smiled quietly, his expression changing in an instant. He arrogantly raised his hammer and glared viciously at the Gatekeeper.
The Gatekeeper was the sort who bullied the weak and feared the strong. When he saw Hu Jiu holding a hammer, he was immediately frightened by Hu Jiu's domineering, Bully-like aura. Although Hu Jiu looked no more than six years old, he had a weapon. The Gatekeeper was just an ordinary person—how could he not be afraid?
"You—you're outrageous! This is Nuoding Academy! How dare you?" the Gatekeeper shouted, fierce on the outside but weak within.
This time, he did not dare to approach as he had in the Original Work. If Hu Jiu hit him with that hammer, he might actually be injured!
"What's going on?"
Just then, a Hoarse and Stiff voice reached their ears from afar.
They looked up and saw that it was indeed Grandmaster.
Grandmaster was of average height with a thin build. His face looked lazy and worn-out.
"Grandmaster, you're back." The Gatekeeper's expression changed. As if he had found someone to rely on, he hurried forward and spoke first. "It's him, this brat. He's here to cause trouble. Look, he's even holding a hammer and wants to hit me."
"Heh!" Hu Jiu sneered. "If you hadn't looked down on people with those Gatekeeper's Snobbish Eyes, would I have bothered with you?"
After hearing Hu Jiu's words, Grandmaster frowned.
"Hello, Teacher. We came to enroll in the academy. This Gatekeeper not only refused to let us enter but also insulted us. My companion simply couldn't stand it, which is why he reacted that way." Tang San also explained from the side.
Grandmaster gave the Gatekeeper, who had complained first, a faint look. This placed enormous pressure on the Gatekeeper.
The Gatekeeper had not expected the two boys to be so quick with their words, exposing everything that had just happened.
"Do you have the certificate issued by Spirit Hall? If you do, give it to me so I can take a look." Grandmaster turned around. His expression softened. Facing an old man and two children, even Grandmaster could not bring himself to remain cold.
"I have them here. Please take a look, Grandmaster." Old Jack had been Village Chief for so many years, so he could immediately tell that Grandmaster held an unusual position in the academy. He quickly took out the certificates belonging to Hu Jiu and Tang San and handed them over.
"Carrot Spirit, Innate Soul Power level two. Mm, this is indeed a certificate issued by Spirit Hall." Grandmaster first looked at Hu Jiu's certificate, but when he saw Tang San's, his expression changed instantly.
"Innate Full Soul Power, and his Spirit is Blue Silver Grass?" Upon seeing this, Grandmaster raised his head and looked deeply at Hu Jiu and Tang San in turn. "Which one of you is Tang San?"
"Teacher, I'm Tang San." Tang San was somewhat puzzled. Was there something wrong with his Spirit?
"Mm, very good." Grandmaster nodded, then turned to Old Jack. "Sir, I'm sorry about what happened just now. I apologize to you on behalf of the academy. Leave these two children to me. I'll take them to register."
Clearly, Grandmaster had already discovered that there was something unusual about Tang San's Spirit, and his attitude toward them had become several degrees warmer.
"No need, no need. We were also at fault. My child is simply too hot-tempered. Then I'll leave these two children to you. Xiao Jiu, Little San, go inside with this Grandmaster and be sure to listen to him!"
After giving Hu Jiu and Tang San a few instructions, Old Jack finally left slowly.
After Old Jack had gone, Grandmaster gave the Gatekeeper a faint look. "This is the last time. If you do it again, you won't need to come back."
This warning nearly scared the Gatekeeper into wetting himself.
Although Grandmaster held no official position in the academy, he was the Dean's Friend, and dealing with the Gatekeeper was still very easy for him.
"I won't do it again. Never again."
After dealing with the Gatekeeper, Grandmaster forced a stiff smile onto his face and said to Hu Jiu and Tang San, "Children, let's go inside."
"Teacher, thank you!" Tang San followed Grandmaster and spoke.
"I'm not a teacher at the academy." Grandmaster glanced at Tang San and spoke calmly.
"Not a teacher? Didn't you just say that you represented the academy?" Tang San looked at Grandmaster in confusion.
Beside Tang San, Hu Jiu watched the scene with interest. He knew that Grandmaster had already taken a liking to Tang San. Although he had no intention of becoming Grandmaster's disciple, he was happy to see Tang San do so. Otherwise, he would not have waited until Grandmaster arrived before exploding.
Next, Grandmaster displayed his abilities and smoothly accepted Tang San as his disciple.
Hu Jiu could only stare speechlessly at the sky. He seemed to have been ignored again. Because of that damn talent, Grandmaster had not spoken to him even once along the way.
Hmph. You look down on me today, but one day I'll make you regret being unable to marry up to me.
Hu Jiu secretly steeled himself.
Whether he wanted to become Grandmaster's disciple was his own business, but Grandmaster had no right to look down on him. He was a dignified Transmigrator, yet he had been ignored. How humiliating!
After this, Grandmaster took Hu Jiu and Tang San to the Academic Affairs Office.
At the Academic Affairs Office, the two smoothly became students of Nuoding Academy. The only difference was that Hu Jiu was a Work-Study Student, while Tang San was a Full-time Student.
After registering successfully, Hu Jiu was extremely excited. He was finally going to meet Xiao Wu!
"Little San, it seems our residences aren't in the same place. Once we've settled in, I'll meet up with you!"
Their first meeting with Xiao Wu absolutely could not have Tang San present.
After all, Tang San was the Child of Destiny of this world. Hu Jiu was still quite afraid of the power that entailed.
