Into the Ruins
Zhang Qingfeng was a relatively easygoing person. After Huang Lingheng called him "Great-Grandpa," he responded with great enjoyment.
He readily agreed to Huang Lingheng's request for in-depth communication.
Zhang Qingfeng started to doze off, while Shen Hui and the others began to chat about everything under the sun.
It was a seemingly peaceful and tranquil afternoon, but everyone harbored a restless heart.
As evening fell, the afterglow of the setting sun spilled across the land, making the lake surface ripple with golden light.
"Time to go."
Zhang Qingfeng stretched and stood up lazily.
The others also stood up, including Shen Hui.
Since he was invited to go, Shen Hui decided not to stand on ceremony and took advantage of the gathering at the Tarot Club to see just how many people were there.
"Where is the destination?"
Shen Hui asked, "I've never heard them mention this before."
Huang Lingheng, Qingxue, and the others who had been with Shen Hui all along were unaware of this.
Zhang Qingfeng, who came this time, can be considered their guide.
"In the ruins of the wilderness."
Zhang Qingfeng answered directly, but Shen Hui and the others were clearly taken aback when they heard it.
Huang Lingheng exclaimed in surprise, "It actually happened there!"
Shen Hui echoed, "Indeed, I didn't expect it to be a place like that."
Of those present, not two had ever been to the ruins of the wilderness.
Shen Hui had only been there before, when he participated in the Starry Sky Leaderboard missions and investigated the Laughing Moon Cult.
The city ruins are in the wilderness, the environment is harsh, and spatial rifts are everywhere.
And who knows what might be deeper inside? It's not a place where you can survive for long.
Moreover, the ruins in the wilderness are quite far from the city.
"Since they chose that place, there must be a reason, right?" Shen Hui asked himself.
Zhang Qingfeng smiled and said, "You'll find out when you get there."
The group set off, leaving the city and passing through the Suburbs, as the moon climbed overhead.
A vast wilderness unfolded before my eyes, gleaming white under the moonlight, filled with a sense of sanctity.
At the edge of the horizon, city ruins rose from the ground, devoid of any light, illuminated only by the cold moonlight.
Like an ancient steel dragon forever resting here, it expresses the glory of the past and the desolation of the present.
As you get closer, the ruins and broken walls form a series of picturesque scenes, both solemn and mysterious, inspiring awe.
It also seems to allow one to see the scenes of past terror and devastation, and feel the weight of history and endless vicissitudes.
The ruins in this wilderness looked far more shocking at night than the ones Shen Hui had seen during the day.
The car eventually came to a stop at the high barrier erected before the ruined city.
The group climbed the steps and reached the highest point of the high wall, where they stood and looked out.
Looking at it, Qingxue exclaimed, "Wow, I never imagined this place would look so magnificent!"
Zhiyue closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and then slowly opened them. "The air here is filled with a tense, anxious atmosphere. It's hard to imagine what happened here back then."
Huang Lingheng nodded, looking at the black voids that appeared at different distances in the ruins below.
"So many spatial rifts, it's truly terrifying."
Leng Zimeng's focus, however, was different from theirs. She couldn't help but correct them, "It should be that the world we live in is terrifying."
"They survived such a devastating blow unscathed, and even the irreparable spatial rifts did not expand further to become a greater threat."
Zhang Qingfeng laughed heartily, "Haha, whatever it is, it's both our misfortune and our fortune."
"Our destination is still some distance away, so we won't take the detour; we'll go straight down from here."
As Zhang Qingfeng spoke, he jumped directly off the city wall, which was dozens of meters high.
He was agile and showed no signs of his previous old age.
Moreover, at the moment of his fall, a red light flashed across his body, and the aura of power from the Creation World merged into his body, causing a change in his appearance.
He was moving too fast, and no one could see clearly that he had already landed smoothly, transforming back into a lazy old man. However, his state was still recognizable; he was undoubtedly in his Creator Form, though there seemed to be a slight difference between him and the others.
Zhang Qingfeng was looking up at Shen Hui and the others who were peeking out, waving continuously.
"Come down, but be careful of the spatial rift, or you might get sucked in."
Huang Lingheng scoffed dismissively, "The spatial rift is so far away, we're not going to jump into it."
After finishing his rant, Huang Lingheng also entered Creator Form; only in this way could he descend from this height.
His flesh and blood dissipated, transforming into a skeleton clad in armor.
However, the moment Huang Lingheng entered the Creator Form, he began to stagger forward.
He kept yelling, "Holy shit! What's pulling me!"
As if given a push, Huang Lingheng in his Creator Form plummeted to the ground.
Although he was physically unharmed in this state, he had fallen to the ground after freefalling.
While lying down, his body began to slide uncontrollably in one direction.
And in that direction was the spatial rift closest to them.
Huang Lingheng struggled desperately, yelling, "Damn it, what's going on? Pull me out!"
But all of this was in vain; no matter how hard they struggled, it was to no avail.
Fortunately, Zhang Qingfeng, who was the first to come down, immediately grabbed Huang Lingheng's leg and pulled him back.
"You great-grandson, I told you and you didn't believe me. Now quickly relinquish your Creator Form."
Huang Lingheng had no time to care about Zhang Qingfeng continuing to take advantage of him; he immediately activated his Creator Form.
As expected, when the power of the Creation World disappeared from his body, he transformed back into a human form from a skeleton.
The force that attracted Huang Lingheng suddenly disappeared.
Huang Lingheng then lay on the ground, relieved to see the fear lingering.
"Holy crap, that scared me to death! If I had been sucked in, I would have been finished."
Everyone immediately realized that these spatial rifts would absorb anything related to the power of the Creation World.
Therefore, if one were to descend upon the Creation World from within a ruined area, it would cause immense damage to that Creation World.
Having learned from Huang Lingheng's example, the rest of them also entered the Creator Form.
Anticipating the attraction, he adjusted his movements and jumped off the high wall, immediately reverting to Creator Form upon landing.
After everyone disembarked, Zhang Qingfeng's face turned serious. "Be careful from here on out. The further you go, the more spatial rifts there are. Be careful not to touch them or get sucked in."
