Nature and Cosmic Position

The Heavenly Dao is the Primordial World's governing will of order. After the Great Dao recedes, it administers the world's rules and the movement of the stars; Saints may act on its behalf 6 56.

The Heavenly Dao possesses eight Saint Positions, seven of which were already occupied when Ming Xin revealed the prospective positions of the Earthly and Human Daos 53.

Appearance

The Heavenly Dao has no documented humanoid body. Its will manifests through cosmic phenomena and direct rule-layer pressure.

• Its anger manifests as violent disruptions in the laws of Purple Cloud Palace rather than ordinary sound 60.

Governance of Order

The Heavenly Dao regulates the Primordial World's fundamental laws and maintains celestial order after the Great Dao's withdrawal 6 56.

• Responded to Nuwa's creation of humanity and the completion of her merit, enabling her ascent as a Heavenly Dao Saint 31.
• Answered the establishment of the Buddhist Sect and the Three Pure Ones' sects with vast merit and saintly foundations 38 41.
• Bestowed a portion of its origin, together with the Earthly and Human Daos, upon Ming Xin during the Primordial World's dimensional ascension 125.

Authority Over Heavenly Dao Saints

Heavenly Dao Saints entrust their Primordial Spirits to the Heavenly Dao and can be compelled by its decrees 60.

• Manifested law chains to suppress Jieyin and Zhunti when they sought to attain Primordial Grand Unity Golden Immortal on top of their Heavenly Dao Saint status 39.
• Ordered the Three Pure Ones and Nuwa to stop Hou Tu's awakening of the Earthly Dao 60.
• Retained sufficient authority for its command to override the Saints' individual hesitation and send them to the Blood Sea 60 61.

Tribulations and Suppression

The Heavenly Dao directly intervenes against beings it considers destabilizing variables.

• Sent a Heavenly Punishment tribulation and Purple Heaven Divine Thunder when Ming Xin attempted to attain Primordial Limitless Grand Unity Golden Immortal 66.
• Manifested its Eye above Ming Xin's breakthrough, displaying open fury and killing intent 66.
• Its power was diminished after the backlash caused by forcibly breaking the Mountains and Rivers Grand Formation during the Earthly Dao conflict 66.

History

The Heavenly Dao first manifests on a world-wide scale when Hongjun announces that he has attained the Dao and will preach at Purple Cloud Palace, offering fated beings an opportunity to pursue sainthood 2.

It later responds to Nuwa's creation of humanity with immense merit and celestial phenomena, allowing her to become the Primordial World's first Heavenly Dao Saint 31. The subsequent establishment of the Buddhist Sect and the Dao, Elucidation, and Interception sects likewise receives its merit and recognition, rapidly expanding the ranks of Heavenly Dao Saints 38 41.

Its opposition to independent Dao authority becomes explicit during Ming Xin's plan to awaken the Earthly Dao. The Heavenly Dao views the Earthly Dao's revival as a theft of authority and commands four Saints to suppress Hou Tu's incarnation into reincarnation 60 61. Its efforts fail: the Earthly Dao awakens, establishes the Six Paths of Reincarnation, and injures the four intervening Heavenly Dao Saints through the Eye of the Earthly Dao 63.

The Heavenly Dao later attempts to prevent Ming Xin from becoming another uncontrollable Primordial Golden Immortal, but Ming Xin endures its tribulation and advances directly to Primordial Limitless Grand Unity Golden Immortal 66 67. After the Human Dao awakens, the Heavenly, Earthly, and Human Daos finally stand as a complete, mutually resonant triad 113.

During the collapse of the old universe, the three Daos reappear in a freer and more harmonious form under Ming Xin's newborn Primordial Law 135. Ming Xin subsequently absorbs the source fragments of the old order's final root and becomes the new Great Dao and sovereign of the Myriad Dao Universe 136.

Relationships

• Dao Ancestor Hongjun — Merged with the Heavenly Dao and linked to its will. Hongjun acknowledges that the Heaven, Earth, and Human Daos should stand together, but the Heavenly Dao disregards his stance and orders the Saints to suppress the Earthly Dao's awakening 60.
• Ming Xin — Major opposing variable. The Heavenly Dao repeatedly seeks to obstruct his breakthroughs and regards his rise as a threat to its control 60 66.
