Appearance
- Wears a golden coat when he first enters Bibi Dong’s villa with Qian Daoliu 1.
- Appears in noble armor during his battle with Tang Hao, with a gigantic Six-Winged Angel Martial Soul radiating sacred light behind him 16.
- Qian Renxue is described as resembling him by seventy to eighty percent 8.
- Yu Xiaogang recognizes features of both Qian Xunji and Bibi Dong in Qian Nuo after learning the boy’s parentage 56.
Personality
Qian Xunji is possessive and coercive toward Bibi Dong. Although he recognizes that he wronged her, he initially does not regret sexually assaulting her, believing it would make her stay with him permanently. His attempts to win her acceptance alternate between gentle reassurance, jealousy over Yu Xiaogang, and threats against Yu Xiaogang’s life. He expresses regret for his actions only when Bibi Dong kills him 1 2 18.
His devotion to his children is genuine, particularly toward Qian Nuo. He consciously rejects his angel Martial Soul’s instinctive revulsion toward his son’s evil presence and insists that the child deserves protection, education, and love rather than execution. He twice places himself in mortal danger to protect Qian Nuo 3 4 13 14.
He also shelters Qian Renxue from her mother’s hostility, telling her that Bibi Dong is simply too busy to visit. Against opponents, he is considerably more arrogant: he looks down on Tang Hao, mocks his relationship with a transformed Soul Beast, and initially underestimates the Clear Sky Hammer’s strength 7 16.

Angel Holy Sword and Angel Assault
Qian Xunji forms an enormous Angel Holy Sword from sacred light and uses it to unleash Angel Assault 16.

- The recovery does not restore him before Bibi Dong arrives and kills him 18.

History
Bibi Dong’s Pregnancy and the Twins’ Birth
Before the story opens, Qian Xunji sexually assaults his disciple Bibi Dong, who becomes pregnant with twins. After she attempts to stab her belly, he and Qian Daoliu intervene. In private, he demands that she deliver the children safely and threatens Yu Xiaogang if either child is harmed 1 2.
When the twins are born, Qian Daoliu proposes killing the boy because of his overwhelming evil presence. Qian Xunji objects, arguing that his son is innocent and can be taught or restrained. Both children are removed from Bibi Dong because of the danger she poses to them 3.
Qian Xunji names them Qian Nuo and Qian Renxue. When a lightning tribulation targets Qian Nuo, he shields the infant with his Six-Winged Angel True Body. Qian Nuo ultimately destroys the tribulation himself, but his father’s willingness to protect him deeply moves him 4.
Afterward, Qian Daoliu assigns Qian Xunji responsibility for raising Qian Nuo while taking charge of Qian Renxue himself. Qian Xunji places the babies in his bedchamber and temporarily entrusts their care to Yue Guan and Gui Mei 5.
Raising His Children
Over the following six years, Qian Xunji raises Qian Nuo and maintains a close relationship with him. He assigns Gui Mei to protect both children secretly. He also conceals Bibi Dong’s rejection from Qian Renxue and continues sending Bibi Dong birthday gifts, all of which she discards 7 8 11.
After Bibi Dong rejects and strikes Qian Renxue, Qian Nuo retaliates against her and then heals her injuries. Qian Xunji arrives at the ruined bedchamber, calls out to both his son and disciple, and is relieved to find neither visibly injured. He does not witness the preceding confrontation 8 9.
At the twins’ Martial Soul awakening ceremony, he reassures Qian Nuo after the Enshrined display hostility toward him. Qian Nuo’s awakening nevertheless prompts Qian Daoliu, acting under the Angel God’s will, to attack 11 12.
When Qian Daoliu launches another sword strike, Qian Xunji steps between him and Qian Nuo. The sword pierces his body, provoking Qian Nuo into beating Qian Daoliu nearly to death. After being healed, Qian Xunji asks his son to save Qian Daoliu as well, then rebukes his father for trying to kill his own grandson 13 14.
Hunt for the Blue Silver Emperor
Qian Xunji leaves with Yue Guan and Gui Mei to capture the transformed hundred-thousand-year Blue Silver Emperor, Ah Yin, intending to obtain Bibi Dong’s ninth Soul Ring. Unknown to him, Bibi Dong follows them, planning to exploit his injuries, kill him, and blame Tang Hao 11 14 15.
The three attack Tang Hao while he protects Ah Yin and their infant son. Although Tang Hao initially shatters Qian Xunji’s sword, Yue Guan and Gui Mei immobilize him, allowing Qian Xunji to wound him severely 16.
Ah Yin sacrifices herself to save Tang Hao, granting him a hundred-thousand-year ninth Soul Ring and advancing him to Titled Douluo. After defeating Yue Guan and Gui Mei, Tang Hao overwhelms Qian Xunji with the Great Sumeru Hammer. He deliberately leaves him alive to avoid bringing disaster upon the Clear Sky Sect 17 18.
Death and Cover-Up
Bibi Dong approaches the wounded Qian Xunji and pierces him with her Soul Devouring Spider Spear. She devours his life force and angel origin, fulfilling the first trial of her Rakshasa inheritance. Yue Guan and Gui Mei witness the killing and send word to Qian Daoliu while fleeing her attempt to silence them 5 18.
Qian Daoliu confronts Bibi Dong but spares her so that Qian Renxue will not lose her mother as well. He orders that Tang Hao be treated as Qian Xunji’s killer, issues a continent-wide warrant, and sends Spirit Hall against the Clear Sky Sect. Bibi Dong subsequently succeeds Qian Xunji as Pope 19 20 38.
Qian Nuo had expected his father to return to Spirit Hall wounded and intended to restore him with Cursed Technique Reversal. Bibi Dong’s decision to kill Qian Xunji outside Spirit Hall, motivated by her fear of Qian Nuo, prevents that intervention 15 19 20.
Qian Renxue accepts the official account and begs her brother to avenge their father. Qian Nuo identifies Bibi Dong as the true killer through Qian Xunji’s lingering presence on her, then confronts and tortures her while honoring his promise to Qian Renxue not to kill her 20 21 22 23.
The official account becomes widely discussed across the continent. Tang Hao gains a reputation for having killed the Pope, while some observers mock Qian Xunji for supposedly losing his life to a newly advanced Titled Douluo. Spirit Hall’s subsequent campaign forces the Clear Sky Sect to seal its mountain gates 20 23.
Posthumous Revelations and Proposed Resurrection
After receiving reports about Qian Nuo’s confrontation with Hu Liena and Bibi Dong, Ning Fengzhi and Chen Xin speculate that the mysterious boy and his sister are Qian Xunji and Bibi Dong’s children. They further suspect that Bibi Dong hated Qian Xunji and may have killed him. Lacking proof, Chen Xin warns that they must keep these deductions secret for their sect’s safety 41.
Qian Nuo later explicitly identifies Qian Xunji as his father when confronting Yu Xiaogang. He demands that Yu Xiaogang address his deceased father by his full title rather than casually using his name. Yu Xiaogang remains resentful toward Qian Xunji, blaming him and Spirit Hall for his separation from Bibi Dong and his subsequent humiliation 56 76.
Years after Qian Xunji’s death, Qian Renxue continues to miss him. Qian Nuo tells her that, if possible, he will search for their father’s soul after reaching the Divine Realm and bring him back to life. This remains a conditional intention rather than a confirmed resurrection 124.
Later Family Reckoning
By the time she confronts Bibi Dong after becoming the Angel God, Qian Renxue knows what happened between her parents. She acknowledges that Qian Xunji was at fault and tells Bibi Dong that she understands her suffering, while insisting that the children were innocent and asking her mother to live peacefully with them 186.
During the ensuing conflict, Qian Daoliu likewise attributes the family’s tragedy to his son’s actions. He acknowledges that Bibi Dong killed Qian Xunji, states that he had not known about the original assault, and urges her not to continue targeting Qian Renxue 187.
After Qian Nuo’s intervention, Bibi Dong acknowledges Qian Renxue as her daughter and admits that she should not have drawn her children into her grievance with their father. Qian Daoliu again accepts that his son was at fault and offers to withdraw from Bibi Dong’s presence, but she tells him that the matter is in the past. The reconciliation occurs without Qian Xunji, who remains deceased 188.
Relationships
- Qian Daoliu — Father and Spirit Hall’s Great Enshrined. Qian Xunji openly opposes his attempts to kill Qian Nuo, but asks that his life be saved after Qian Nuo defeats him. - Bibi Dong — Disciple and mother of his children, whom he sexually assaults and attempts to coerce into accepting him. She plots his death for six years before killing and devouring him. Much later, she admits that her grievance with him did not justify mistreating their children 1 2 8 18 188.
- Qian Nuo — Son, whom he raises and protects despite widespread fear of the boy’s evil power. His affection earns Qian Nuo’s attachment and loyalty. Qian Nuo punishes Bibi Dong for killing him and later expresses a conditional intention to find his soul and resurrect him 4 5 11 13 22 23 124.
- Qian Renxue — Daughter, whose innocence he tries to preserve by concealing her mother’s hatred. She mourns him deeply and seeks revenge after his death. - Tang Hao — Opponent who gravely wounds but deliberately spares him; later falsely blamed for his death 18 19 20.
- Yu Xiaogang — Romantic rival whom he insults and threatens to control Bibi Dong. Yu Xiaogang continues to blame him for his separation from Bibi Dong long after his death 2 76.
- Ning Fengzhi and Chen Xin — Outside observers who privately suspect that Bibi Dong killed him after deducing the twins’ parentage, but refrain from publicizing their unproven conclusions 41.
