The Unknown Land
"Hello, Snyder, oh no, Your Majesty Snyder." Dath'Remar saw Snyder arrive and wanted to greet his old friend, whom he hadn't seen for thousands of years, with a joke.
"Greetings, Dath'Remar, leader of these Highborne." Snyder, seeing an old friend he hadn't seen for thousands of years, wanted to crack a joke, so he continued the conversation.
Dath'Remar was speechless at Snyder's shamelessness; he was just joking, but Snyder took it seriously.
"Alright, it was just a joke, you're not angry, are you, old friend?" Snyder saw that Dath'Remar's expression was a bit unpleasant and tried to smooth things over. Dath'Remar walked over with a gloomy face.
Dath'Remar walked over and hugged Snyder tightly. Snyder was stunned by Dath'Remar's action; he hadn't expected his old friend to do something so dramatic. Neither of them nor their entourage had anticipated this meeting.
"Hey, that's enough. All I did was ask you to call me 'Your Majesty,' is it really necessary to torture me like this?"
Snyder understood the hardships Dath'Remar had endured leading his people here; he himself had worried about the future of his people back then, and only those who had experienced it truly knew the difficulties involved.
"It's so good to see you, old friend," Dath'Remar said, releasing Snyder.
"I'm an old friend too." The two elven leaders smiled at each other.
"Come, let me show you around our Highborne's temporary home." Dath'Remar deliberately emphasized the word "temporary," indicating that the reminiscing was over and it was time to think about how to secure a better future for his people.
Snyder understood the implication in Dath'Remar's tone, but he didn't spell it out. They could be good friends in private, but when it came to the benefit of their people, the people's interests had to come first.
Two old foxes, each thousands of years old, began a game of strategy.
"Come, come, Snyder, try this. It's the best thing we've ever found on this continent." Dath'Remar eagerly invited Snyder and all his entourage into the newly built banquet hall of the Highborne.
In the banquet hall, the Highborne, who were serving as waiters, busied themselves entertaining the guests, bringing out dish after dish of food. The Highborne musicians also began to play music, and the banquet commenced.
"How have you been doing in Kalimdor all these years?" Snyder asked, picking up a piece of roast meat from the table and eating it. He had to admit that the roast meat was quite delicious, with a distinctly Night Elf flavor, which reminded Snyder of his childhood in Zin-Azshari.
Dath'Remar also briefly recounted to Snyder the life of the Highborne in Kalimdor over the past few thousand years.
Snyder listened to Dath'Remar recount the story of these thousands of years while devouring the roasted meat on the table and occasionally sipping the rare wines Dath'Remar had brought. Although Dath'Remar continued to tell their story, his eyes were constantly fixed on the equipment and military bearing of the army that Snyder had brought.
The Hand of the Bright Moon, brought by Snyder, is the elite of the elite. Their soldiers are the best, their weapons are the best, and their treatment is the best. They stunned Dath'Remar the moment they appeared.
He thought to himself, "No wonder they are the most valiant and skilled troops in the War of the Ancients. After thousands of years of refinement, they have become even stronger. Even their every move while eating reveals their strict military discipline and impeccable military bearing."
Looking at such a great army Dath'Remar was filled with envy.
"Hey, take that nasty look out of your head." Snyder, who was eating, couldn't stand it anymore; Dath'Remar's gaze was definitely affecting his meal.
Dath'Remar realized that his actions had been somewhat presumptuous and restrained himself.
"This is a map of the Eastern Kingdoms we drew; it should be of some help to you." Snyder took the map out of his magic backpack.
Dath'Remar quickly took the map; it concerned the future home of his people.
Dath'Remar pushed all the delicacies on the table toward Snyder, cleared the table in front of him, and then spread out the map.
This map was originally drawn by Jarod and his gang, and then refined by Snyder.
Everything on the map is enveloped in elemental power, which in turn interacts with the elements of Azeroth, allowing the map to reflect the real-time situation of the drawn region.
Changes in weather and terrain can be seen on this map.
Looking at this amazing map, Dath'Remar couldn't help but admire Snyder's mastery of elemental power. He also marveled at the Eternal Elves' immense wealth, as they had even incorporated elemental power into their maps.
After witnessing the amazing map, Dath'Remar began to rely on it to study the strange continent beneath their feet.
The elemental power beautifully revealed the entire landscape of the Eastern Kingdoms to Dath'Remar.
He located his position on the map; it was a woodland surrounded by dense jungle.
This was a good place to live, but Dath'Remar had no intention of settling here. He had learned from Apophis that Vrykul clan still lived here.
Settling here would inevitably lead to competition with the local residents for resources, which is something he doesn't want to see.
So he plans to find a remote place to build his home.
Dath'Remar's gaze shifted upwards, and his eyes were drawn to a small island and a portion of the land on it located on the upper part of the eastern building.
"This is a good place. My people are few in number, and this area is enough for us to survive," Dath'Remar said, pointing to the upper part of the map.
"This is indeed a good place." Snyder agreed with Dath'Remar's choice.
"But Dath'Remar, the place you chose is the territory of the Forest Troll."
"That place was once their holy site; you are not allowed to go there."
"If you go anywhere, a fierce battle is inevitable." Snyder told Dath'Remar everything he knew.
"Forest Troll? Those savage creatures are there too? We'll deal with them. Our new home needs some excellent fertilizer to make the land more fertile, and they're perfect for that task." Dath'Remar didn't take the Forest Troll seriously.
From the Ancient Kaldorei Empire was established, the elves waged war against the Troll.
The elves, relying on their immense power, destroyed the vast Troll Empire, and from then on, the Troll could no longer pose a threat to the Night Elf.
This discrimination reached its peak during Azshara's reign, and the elves and Troll fell into irreconcilable conflict.
Looking at Dath'Remar, Snyder thought to himself, "He's definitely going to get what's coming to him here."
