The Highborne have made preparations for their migration, Dath'Remar has sent his personal guards to inform Snyder and Jarod to attend a meeting.
Snyder and Jarod followed the guards sent by Dath'Remar to Dath'Remar's temporary meeting room.
The meeting room was a small, makeshift hut next to Dath'Remar's house.
Dath'Remar's guards led Snyder and Jarod to the door of the conference room and gestured for them to go inside.
When Snyder and Jarod went inside, they found that the small house housed most of the high Highborne.
The Highborne elite consisted of Dath'Remar's confidants, distinguished Highborne generals, and highly respected old nobles.
"You've arrived," Dath'Remar said as he saw Snyder and Jarod enter. At this moment, Dath'Remar appeared perfectly normal and composed.
"Please sit down since you're here," Dath'Remar said, gesturing to the reserved front-row seats.
Snyder and Jarod sat down without hesitation.
"Alright, everyone's here. The meeting will now begin," Dath'Remar said.
"Let's call everyone over to discuss the coordination between all parties during the relocation later."
"Old sir, you are a man of high moral standing; it is fitting that you lead the common people," Dath'Remar said to an old elf sitting at the table.
"Yes, sir," the old nobleman said to Dath'Remar, standing up.
This old nobleman was completely different from the one who led the rebellion. The rebel had a mean face, while this old nobleman was very kind.
He looks like an old man next door.
"You will lead a portion of the combat troops to accompany the civilians and protect them along the way."
Dath'Remar spoke to a young general.
"Sir, I have no complaints about the mission, but I feel I should be fighting on the front lines instead of leading troops to protect civilians."
The young general said that although he did not say he was complaining about the mission, his tone was full of complaints.
Dath'Remar had anticipated that he would refuse the mission, so he had prepared a set of excuses in advance.
"General, do you know why we're doing this?" Dath'Remar asked the young general first.
"It's for our people." The young general was about to reply when Dath'Remar had already told him the reason he had always insisted.
"All of you here are leaders of our exiled community. Do you feel the heavy responsibility on your shoulders?"
"Or are you just enjoying the privileges that come with status!" Dath'Remar's voice rose considerably when he said this.
"Everything we have is given by the people; the armor and weapons of our Warrior, the food of our politicians—all are created by the people."
"It's fair to say that without the people's support, we are nothing."
Dath'Remar's words filled all the Highborne elves with shame, especially the young general who looked down on the mission of protecting civilians.
"I'm sorry, sir! I didn't think this through." The young general stepped forward and admitted his mistake to Dath'Remar.
"No, it's not that you haven't thought things through; it's that you've been out of touch with the people and the masses for too long," Dath'Remar said.
"Yes, I have been out of touch with the people for too long. Please believe me, sir, I will protect the people," the young general assured him.
"Alright, I hope you keep your promise," Dath'Remar said.
"Daren Theron, our ally the Eternal Elves, and I will lead the way, drawing all the fire for the main force."
"Another part of the troops is responsible for covering the rear, otherwise the civilians will be easily attacked by the pursuing enemy forces."
"The remaining militia and reserves assisted the garrison in protecting civilians."
"All Warrior, remember this: to die for the people is our honor; to let civilians die before us is an insult!"
Dath'Remar then stated his requirements for the Warrior.
"We will certainly protect our people with our lives," the generals present stood up and said in unison.
Dath'Remar was very pleased with the performance of his generals and waved for them to sit down.
"The next issue is resupply along the way."
How many magic crystals do we have left?
"If we can use it fully, we can last for three months. If we only ensure the most basic survival needs each day, we can last for five months," said Dath'Remar's confidant, standing up.
"Did you hear that, everyone? We only have two months."
"We only have two months. In those two months, we need to get to a certain place. In the remaining month, we need to establish our city there."
Everyone was shocked to hear that Dath'Remar wanted to take all the Highborne somewhere in just two months.
"Isn't two months too rushed, sir?" a Highborne asked.
"No, our magic crystals only last for three months."
"And we're also being harassed by Troll along the way. We have to hurry, or the Troll army will come and besiege us."
"We are not afraid of Troll; they are just a bunch of barbarians. But our people need stability. Their long years of wandering have made them desperately in need of a peaceful home," Dath'Remar explained.
"If you all think it's not working, we can call upon our troops and test our skills against them once we've settled down," Dath'Remar said, his face radiating arrogance.
The pride unique to the Highborne was once again evident in them.
"Don't worry too much about food; if all else fails, there's always magic bread to fall back on."
After Dath'Remar finished speaking, he took out the map that he had copied from Snyder's Elemental Map.
"Water sources along the way can be found using a map. Before each water source is reached, a small detachment will be sent out to scout ahead."
Everyone agreed with Dath'Remar's decision, so they went to prepare, since the departure time was fast approaching.
After everyone left Snyder and Jarod went up to Dath'Remar first.
Dath'Remar was surprised that the two men hadn't gone down to inform their troops.
"What's wrong, you two? What's the matter?" Dath'Remar asked.
"Dath'Remar, you've been working very hard lately, you must take care of yourself and get some rest," Snyder said meaningfully.
"Of course I will. Many people have recently advised me to rest more."
"But I refused them all. I will rest once the people have settled down," Dath'Remar said.
He had lost count of how many elves he had rejected with that phrase.
"As long as you know what's going on, that's fine."
"Send someone to tell us when you leave." After saying that, Snyder gave Jarod a wink, signaling him to leave with him.
After Snyder and Jarod left, Dath'Remar said to himself, "Looks like they've discovered something."
