Childhood and Lineage

Song Yixue lost her father at a young age and was raised by her uncle, Song Kang. His only son, Song Xuan, became the relative closest to her. He looked after her and contributed his own savings toward her cultivation 38.

Her Three Spirit Roots earned her recognition as one of the Song Household’s Foundation Establishment seeds. Her aloofness and dislike of socializing already made her unpopular among some peers, and her favored position provoked further jealousy. She nevertheless originally hoped to reach Foundation Establishment and strengthen the lineage 29 34 38.

Ji Yuan’s Pursuit

The Song Household closely guarded the secret of Yixue’s Bewitching Yin Physique, but Ji Yuan somehow discovered it. Seeking to purify his impure Law Power by harvesting her primordial Yin, he proposed a marriage alliance between their households 29.

Yixue rejected the match even on pain of death. The Song Household initially favored the alliance, then refused after learning Ji Yuan’s intentions; Song Xuan’s intervention helped prevent the marriage. Talisman Shop and Dao Companionship

Song Xuan introduced Yixue to Mo Wen and arranged for him to supply her shop. She initially considered him a possible dao companion but wanted to understand his character before deciding. His willingness to remain close to her despite the Ji Household’s hostility strengthened her regard for him 26 27 29.

Ji Yuan followed her to the city, threatened her in the shop, and later employed rogue cultivators to disrupt business. Mo Wen intervened against both Ji Yuan and the hired troublemakers 27 28 35.

When Mo Wen revealed that he had become a second-tier talisman master, he asked Yixue to help him establish a business. Recognizing that this meant choosing between him and her lineage, she agreed without much hesitation. The two then pledged themselves as dao companions 36.

Their second-tier talisman sales made the Song Clan Talisman Shop famous. Yixue secured independent suppliers, leaving the business unaffected when the Song Household stopped its monthly deliveries. The clan’s conduct caused her to give up on the lineage 37.

False Message and Retirement

A messenger claimed that the Ji Household had attacked Moon-Washing Lake and gravely wounded Song Xuan. Although Yixue suspected a trap, concern for her cousin made her want to return. Mo Wen persuaded her to remain inside his protected cave abode while he investigated 38.

The report proved false and had served to lure Mo Wen into an ambush. After his safe return, he encouraged Yixue to leave shop management and concentrate on Foundation Establishment. She moved into his cave abode, while Song Xuan subsequently took charge of the shop 40 41.

Jingxiu Mountain and Later Events

After consolidating her Foundation Establishment cultivation, Yixue accompanied Mo Wen to Red Leaf Market and helped the Mo Clan reclaim Jingxiu Mountain. When Mo Wen severely wounded Feng Xuanling, she blocked his escape and killed him 41 42 43.

She later stood guard while Mo Wen secluded himself, having been told that he was cultivating a powerful Law Technique. Although the resulting phenomenon shocked her, she respected his privacy and did not press him for an explanation. The pair eventually returned to Azure Luan Immortal City 44 45.

When Song Xuan disappeared, Yixue alerted Mo Wen and warned him of another likely Ji Household plot. Mo Wen rescued him and killed the Ji Clan ancestor. Reunited safely, the three shared a feast and discussed establishing themselves in the city 47 50.
