What Is There About You Worth Attracting Me?
Huo Yan was currently the dean of Blazing Fire Academy.
He was also a level seventy-eight Soul Saint and the strongest person at Blazing Fire Academy. His Martial Soul was the ancestral Unicorn Fire Dragon!
After all, Feng Xiaotian came to Blazing Fire Academy to hang around for a few days every month, so he knew Dean Huo Yan.
They had even met a few times, and Huo Yan had warned the former Feng Xiaotian that while he was young, he should work harder to improve his Soul Power instead of pestering Huo Wu so much.
Who would have thought the former Feng Xiaotian paid no heed? Instead, he asked Huo Yan whether he was supposed to wait until he was old to do those things if he didn't do them while he was young.
That remark earned the former Feng Xiaotian his first beating at Blazing Fire Academy, at Huo Yan's hands no less. And Huo Yan had beaten him with considerable skill.
He hadn't injured his muscles or bones, nor damaged his internal organs, but the experience could only be described in one word: pain. Excruciating pain. Nearly every punch had struck flesh.
Now, looking back through those memories, Feng Xiaotian hadn't experienced it himself, but the thought of that scene made him ache.
Yet despite that experience, the former Feng Xiaotian had continued coming to Blazing Fire Academy to pursue Huo Wu, just as before.
Over time, seeing how persistent Feng Xiaotian was, Huo Yan simply stopped trying to stand in his way.
But whenever the former Feng Xiaotian went to see Huo Wu, he always felt as though someone was watching him.
Feng Xiaotian merely glanced back a few times!
All he could think about was the 190,000 Simp Coins he had just obtained, which he could exchange for quite a few useful things in the system.
After all, just 5,000 Simp Coins had helped him raise his Soul Power by one level.
Now that he had 190,000, he could reach at least level forty, then exchange for a Soul Ring and advance further.
He had just pushed the door open and was about to enter when Cheng Cheng said, "Xiaotian, come and meet him too. This is the dean of Blazing Fire Academy, isn't it?"
By then, Cheng Cheng had nearly reached the courtyard. He looked back at Feng Xiaotian with a mysterious smile.
He knew Feng Xiaotian was interested in Huo Wu, so he had to give him a hand. Although he couldn't help directly, he could still find an opening through Huo Yan.
Feng Xiaotian replied, "Dean, you've met an old friend. Wouldn't it be inappropriate for me to stay?"
Cheng Cheng said, "What's inappropriate about that? Look, old Huo brought two people too. He and I can have a proper chat, and you can keep them company."
He was naturally referring to Huo Wu and Huo Wushuang. Seeing this, Huo Yan found Feng Xiaotian rather strange today.
Every time Feng Xiaotian had come before, Huo Yan had been on guard against him.
Whenever Feng Xiaotian approached Huo Wu, Huo Yan would hide nearby, ready to rush out the moment Feng Xiaotian bullied his granddaughter.
Fortunately, Feng Xiaotian had always treated Huo Wu with respect and had never overstepped.
But he always gave Huo Yan the feeling that he was looking at a dog!
Huo Wu was also a little unhappy at that moment. In the past, whenever Feng Xiaotian saw her, he would come trotting eagerly after her.
Yet today, after arriving at the academy, Feng Xiaotian had only called out to her once. After that, he seemed to pay her no further attention, as though she were a stranger.
Although this was what she had always wanted before, now that it had really happened, it felt as though she had lost a certain pleasure.
That pleasure was the feeling of being a cut above someone else.
A person who willingly humbled himself stayed by your side, listened to everything you said, watched your every expression, and thought everything you said was right.
There were only two kinds of people like that. The first were attendants, servants, or slaves, who had to obey you. The second were people who loved and indulged you.
Feng Xiaotian belonged to the second kind, yet Huo Wu had never considered love at all.
Over time, Huo Wu had naturally come to feel superior to Feng Xiaotian.
Most importantly, she didn't like Feng Xiaotian.
Huo Yan said nothing, but Huo Wu spoke up. "Feng Xiaotian, are you afraid to see me?"
She looked down her nose at him, her head held high!
That was Huo Wu as she was now!
She was proud and overbearing, traits she had developed from growing up surrounded by people who treated her like the moon among stars. After all, she was the favored daughter of heaven at Blazing Fire Academy, exceptionally gifted, and didn't even take Feng Xiaotian's Innate Full Soul Power seriously. Of course, that was partly because Feng Xiaotian had lowered himself.
That was precisely why the more Feng Xiaotian behaved like that, the more Huo Wu looked down on him.
Feng Xiaotian took two steps forward and said calmly, "Little sister Huo Wu, why would I be afraid to see you?"
Huo Wu asked again, "Then why are you avoiding me?"
By then, Cheng Cheng had reached Huo Yan. The two hadn't seen each other in a long time and exchanged a bear hug.
"Let the young people spend some time getting to know each other here. We'll find somewhere to have a proper talk," Cheng Cheng said.
Huo Yan rolled his eyes. He wasn't stupid. Was Cheng Cheng trying to bring his granddaughter Huo Wu and Feng Xiaotian together?
He figured Feng Xiaotian had most likely asked Cheng Cheng to do this, so he said, "All right, let's find somewhere quiet."
But before leaving, Huo Yan said, "Huo Wu, Wushuang, this is my brother Cheng Cheng. Just call him Grandpa Cheng."
Seeing that Feng Xiaotian hadn't answered for the moment, Huo Wu called out with Huo Wushuang, "Grandpa Cheng!"
"Good!" Cheng Cheng smiled, then looked at Feng Xiaotian before turning back. "You young people get to know each other. Old Huo, let's go. We haven't had a drink together in ages, so bring out the good wine you've been hiding tonight."
"Haha!" Huo Yan laughed. "Of course! The best wine, and as much as you like tonight!"
With that, the two old men left.
Huo Yan had originally intended to have Huo Wu and Huo Wushuang meet Cheng Cheng. After all, Cheng Cheng had come to his home, and he ought to show him proper hospitality.
But as an old friend of many years, he naturally understood what Cheng Cheng wanted and went along with it.
Most importantly, he trusted Huo Wu, and Feng Xiaotian had never disappointed him either.
Once the two old men had left, Huo Wu's expression changed. She looked coldly at Feng Xiaotian. "You won't answer me? Could it be you're trying to attract my attention this way?"
"Feng Xiaotian, let me make this clear: I could never fall for you. You'd better give up on that idea and stop bothering me, and don't use such cheap tricks again!"
Feng Xiaotian shook his head. "Why would I want to attract you? What is there about you worth attracting me?"
When it came to Huo Wu's attitude, he absolutely couldn't back down!
Yet the body he had inherited seemed all too honest, making him feel a slight urge to go up and apologize.
That was right. He had inherited Feng Xiaotian's body, as well as his soul's memories, so he was bound to be affected to some extent now.
Feng Xiaotian worked hard to restrain the influence of his body and the memories of the past in his mind.
Huo Wu grew a little angry. "You!"
But angry as she was, she thought it would be quite nice if no one pestered her anymore. She said coldly, "You'd better not!"
"Brother, let's go!"
But just then, two beautiful figures appeared at the entrance to the courtyard.
"Big brother Feng Xiaotian! May we come in?"
It was Shui Bing'er speaking, with Shui Yue'er beside her.
Feng Xiaotian gave a rare smile. "Of course!"
Although he didn't know why the sisters had suddenly come looking for him, Feng Xiaotian still went forward to greet them. Huo Wu saw it all from the side, and a trace of disappointment suddenly arose in her heart!
