A giant, azure-blue water sphere, two hundred meters in diameter, completely enveloped Jason and Pan, with water constantly flowing and swirling within it, suspended in mid-air.
Pan stared in astonishment at the changes around him. The water sphere had no gaps inside; it was completely filled with water. Pan was now using his Divine Power and domain to repel the surrounding water.
Pan is still three meters tall and was easily encased by the water sphere.
"Hmph." Pan disdainfully expanded his body. In his view, this water sphere could not grow indefinitely. As long as he guarded against Jason's sneak attack, he could expand it.
He was originally a towering tree, so expanding his body wouldn't significantly reduce his strength; it would only weaken his defenses in certain areas.
However, after expanding to a distance of ten meters, he was surprised to find that he had bumped into a "wall." Judging from the touch, it was a layer of ice wall, the same color as the surrounding water, completely hidden in the water.
He had been on guard against Jason's sneak attack, and his spiritual sense was focused around the tree trunk, so he didn't notice the ice walls immediately.
Pan cautiously extended his divine sense and discovered that these ice walls were not completely sealed off, but rather layered like a maze, constantly changing.
"My divine sense can only expand to a range of fifty meters. Can the water around here weaken my divine sense?"
Upon seeing this, Pan understood.
Pan shrank back to his three-meter size, flames erupted around him once more, and the heat wave continuously evaporated the surrounding water. His Divine Power gathered the water vapor around him, forming a vacuole. Then, Pan waved his sixteen flame fruits to clear a path, continuously traveling upwards.
"Bang, bang, bang." A series of impact sounds rang out.
Jason noticed Pan's actions and directly manipulated the ice wall hidden in the water to smash into him, trying to stop Pan.
However, the impact of the ice wall on Pan only caused him to pause briefly, and the flames around Pan quickly dissipated as soon as the ice wall came into contact with him.
With a loud bang, Pan hatched.
The water sphere then quickly shattered.
"Hmm?" Pan looked around and finally spotted Jason —at the entrance to the thirteenth floor.
Jason didn't rush into the entrance directly, but instead let the Deathgod Golem go first.
It turned out that Pan had indeed tampered with this place—a Fire Element array that wasn't particularly strong, but if Jason had forced his way through, he would have been injured and held back for a while.
Using the Deathgod Golem to clear all the surrounding magic arrays, Jason glanced once more at Pan, who was rushing this way, before plunging into the passage.
Although Jason had broken through to the Midgod with his Water Element, Jason knew very well that he couldn't kill Pan.
If the Divine Power of the Water Element could be accumulated sufficiently, it would be worth a try. However, the current Water Clone could barely maintain the water sphere from before, and that water sphere only trapped Pan for a minute.
Ignoring Pan, who was blocking the entrance and shouting insults, Jason simply conjured an ice wall to block out the sound.
"There is no Gravity in the Water Element, so it can't make people inside lose their sense of direction like in the Blackstone Space. If the opponent breaks through in one direction, it's impossible to stop them."
Furthermore, the water sphere has a very low weakening effect on divine sense. It's only 200 meters in diameter, while Midgod's divine sense can extend 50 meters within it. My understanding of the "Profound Mysteries of Ice" is also insufficient, so the ice wall I condense isn't strong enough to trap the enemy. Unless I become Highgod in the future and encompass a larger volume, but by then I probably won't need this kind of binding technique much anymore.
Furthermore, this move consumes too much energy, especially the large amount of water involved, which only weakens divine sense. The amount of Divine Power consumed is disproportionate to its actual effect.
When my Divine Spark merged with my soul earlier, I accumulated a small portion of my Midgod Water Element- element divine power through the innate laws, but just now, more than half of it was consumed.
Jason reflected on the performance of the water sphere just now and felt that his skill was rather useless. He needed to have a deeper understanding of the Water Law before he could truly unleash its power.
"This is the first time I'm using this skill, so let's give it a name. Hmm—I'll call it Crystal Space!" Jason recalled observing the water sphere from the outside; it resembled a blue crystal.
After assessing his own condition, he realized that the Divine Power of his Water Element and Fate Clone was almost depleted, while the Divine Power of his destruction and Life Clone was completely exhausted. He was no longer able to sustain another battle against Pan.
"A Soul Defense Divine Artifact —this harvest has exceeded expectations. I wonder if the Yulan Continent is following the original plot, and whether the Bosha Dike has been destroyed. With Beirut around, there shouldn't be any problems. Let's accumulate Divine Power first; our current Divine Power can't withstand another fierce battle." Jason thought to himself as he had his clones accumulate Divine Power.
If Jason continues fighting Pan now, he should be able to gain the upper hand before his Water Element Divine Power runs out, but that's about it. Pan's powerful defense and regeneration make it impossible for Jason to kill him in a short time.
Jason has just broken through and doesn't need to fight to achieve another breakthrough, so he simply blocked the entrance and ignored Pan's clamor.
The passage between the two levels is the safest place in the Necropolis of the Gods, where Jason plans to spend his final year.
As the days were counting down, I unexpectedly ran into someone here in the last few days.
"Dylan?"
"Jason?"
"You broke through to the Midgod?" Jason had completely forgotten that Dylan should have been able to break through in the Necropolis of the Gods. "By the way, there's a Wind Element Midgod on the fourteenth floor, did you meet him?"
"I killed him." Dylan didn't hide anything. "I originally planned to retreat after just breaking through and seeing the Midgod of the fourteenth level, but I didn't expect that guy to charge at me directly. I swallowed him into my stomach with a single divine power. Later, he cursed and yelled in my stomach for a long time, and that's when I realized that you had killed all but one of the fourteenth level gods."
"Want to go check out the fifteenth floor?" Jason joked with a smile.
The remaining Vampire on the fourteenth floor was too fast, Jason figured he wasn't worth the effort to kill, so he didn't bother. Little did he know that Dylan would benefit from it.
For Dylan, who had just broken through to the Midgod, a Mid Godhead a set of Midgod Artifact already made him incredibly wealthy.
Dylan glanced curiously at the ice wall behind Jason: "I saw that the rewards for the fourteenth floor have already been claimed, so I wanted to see if you had killed the guardian of the fifteenth floor."
Jason shook his head. "The guardian of the fifteenth floor is a Midgod named Pan. His true form is a plant, and he has life and Fire Clone. I fought him to a draw."
Dylan hesitated for a moment: "If we join forces—"
Jason shook his head again. "It probably won't work. His true form is very large, and as a plant standing on the ground, it should have a high resistance to your Swallow Heaven."
Seeing this, Dylan stopped pressing the matter and said directly, "Then I'll head back to the fourteenth floor first."
He had a grudge against Jason and was reluctant to stay there any longer.
Jason did not try to stop him.
