As the oldest existing empire on the Yulan Continent, the Yulan Empire possesses a cultural heritage unmatched by any other nation. At the very least, the fact that its capital city is named "Yulan City" is enough to demonstrate the deep-seated pride within this country.
On a small hill more than ten miles from Yulan City, Jason was walking briskly with a crystal ball in his hand, pausing from time to time to think.
"According to the prophecy, the Temple of Life of the Yulan Empire is on a small hill about three miles to the right—uh, I'm not feeling like I'm practicing Fate Law, but rather playing the role of a charlatan. Do all the popes possess some Fate Law because it makes them seem more like a charlatan, uh, no, more like a pope."
Since Jason obtained the cultivation method for the Fate Law, he has been sketching and studying the rune, and has gained some vague insights. However, its effectiveness is inconsistent. Jason, who wanted to try using prophecy instead of divine sense to find his way, has lost his way several times.
"Who are you, and how did you get into the forbidden area of Temple of Life?" a female voice interrupted Jason's complaint.
Looking ahead, there was a middle-aged woman holding a magic wand, Fire Element were gradually gathering around her, seemingly intending to annihilate Jason, the intruder.
Jason sighed, smiled at her, and asked, "Beautiful lady, how do I get to the Temple of Life?"
The woman opposite paused for a moment, then subconsciously pointed behind her, "Go four miles in that direction."
"The prophecy has been wrong again—" Jason sighed and quickly flew in that direction.
Not long after Jason left, the woman seemed to suddenly awaken. "This is... a soul attack? Find my senior brother!" she exclaimed, and then ran off in one direction.
Jason has arrived at the Temple of Life.
"The High Priest is truly an elf."
The Temple of Life is surrounded by hills, with lush flowers, grasses, and trees covering the entire area. The most striking feature is a towering tree in the center.
Jason recognized the tree; it was the "Tree of Life," the symbol of the elves, and depicted in images from the Tree of Life heritage of the Orcish Golden Royal Court.
Scattered around the Tree of Life were some quaint wooden houses, each carved with beautiful patterns, quite unique. Jason could also clearly see the inhabitants, tall and fair-skinned, with pointed ears—they were elves.
Jason did not unleash his divine consciousness; he still showed due respect to the High Priest, this Deity-level senior.
The original work does not explicitly state whether the High Priest is Lowgod Refine Divine Spark, but he fought to a draw with the God of War God O'Brien, who is also Lowgod who Refine Divine Spark, and even lost the battle. It seems that the High Priest is not very strong.
Jason approached, and some elves noticed Jason intrusion and came over to chase him away.
Jason used telepathy to transmit his message: "I am Jason Rhein, here to visit the High Priest. Please inform him of my arrival."
Inside the Tree of Life was a spacious hall, though it was nothing compared to the diameter of the Tree of Life's trunk.
Wearing a mask adorned with intricate patterns, the High Priest sat high on the main seat, seemingly looking down at Jason, who sat in a side seat.
"I recently broke through to the Deity-level, so I've come to pay my respects to the seniors on the continent and also to see what elves look like." Jason looked at the two "elven maids" behind the High Priest.
Clearly, the people around the High Priest were all quite powerful and very beautiful. On the way to the main hall, Jason kept remarking on how high the average appearance of the elves was.
"You really showed no mercy when you destroyed the Golden Royal Court," the High Priest said sarcastically.
Jason, having witnessed the event firsthand, naturally knew the inside story. "That was also thanks to the strong support of the Yulan Empire."
The High Priest paused for a moment, his tone seemingly softening. "You must be a half- Demon, I can sense the human aura emanating from you."
Jason nodded, but didn't dwell on the matter. "Actually, I came here because I wanted a branch of the Tree of Life. I also practice Life Magic and have longed for the Tree of Life for a long time."
"Ha, how arrogant! The Tree of Life is a priceless treasure passed down through our elven race. You think you can just take it because you want it? If it weren't for the fact that you're a native of Yulan, I wouldn't even want to see you, given your Demon bloodline."
"But I see many human Saint-level who cultivate Life Magic possess the Tree of Life! If all else fails, I'll pay to buy it."
Jason had already scanned the area with his divine sense and found that there were as many as thirteen Tree of Life on the Yulan Continent, seven of which were in the hands of human Saint-level. Of course, the others were far less enormous than the one in the High Priest's possession.
Ultimately, it's just a tree in the Material Plane, even if it's a treasure of the elves.
"Ultimately, they are descendants of Demon, unreasonable and reckless."
Countless vines sprouted from Jason's feet, only to be frozen by frost and turn into ice crystals; Jason's life force suddenly became active, seemingly about to burst forth from his body as branches burst forth, and tiny flashes of lightning dispelled all the anomalies; the High Priest felt his body stiffen, and the fluids within him seemed to freeze, but he nourished them with his life force, and his body was revitalized once more.
"Internal Godhood? Or were his other avatars destroyed?" Jason muttered.
The High Priest stared intently at Jason, clearly having been hit where it hurt.
The High Priest and Jason faced off, but neither of them used Divine Power, instead relying solely on the laws of nature and the elements in the air to fight back.
Jason had originally intended to negotiate amicably, but the other party's arrogant attitude and unfriendly tone annoyed him—what was this guy, who couldn't even break through to the Midgod level in ten thousand years, so arrogant about!
"A Divine Artifact! In exchange for a sapling of my Tree of Life!"
Jason thought of the shield he had obtained from the Orc Saint-level, which seemed to be Midgod Artifact, but he didn't want to make a losing deal.
"A Blue Jade Fruit. Some of your Yulan Empire's Saint-level have been to Crescent Island and should know the effects of this fruit."
The High Priest took out a scepter, which exuded the aura of Divine Artifact; it appeared to be Midgod Artifact.
Jason took out his armor and scimitar.
The High Priest took a deep breath. "Deal."
Jason held up the Tree of Life, which was about the size of his forearm. "The Blue Jade Fruit needs strong Water Element and life force to ripen. I can provide Water Element, but I don't know if the Tree of Life can provide enough life force."
