  • The True Dragons’ forces returned fire and sought to breach the wall while Chris and Wesker held back for a decisive strike.

Ch. 238Nuclear Bombs and Clearing the Field

The Gendaya People fought off the True Dragons’ dependents with a heavily armed defense, but the two Tier Nine True Dragons began breaking through their wall. Wellington sent Heavenly Eye warriors to drop three low-yield nuclear bombs into the enemy rear, where the explosions devastated the army.

  • Xisi and the Heavenly Eye Force held the wall against charging monsters, killing a Tier Six troll with concentrated fire before the mage corps destroyed giant human-faced scorpions.
  • Wellington ordered Xisi to focus on monsters below Tier Four while the mage corps handled stronger enemies.
  • The Topaz Dragon and Gold Dragon joined the battle, using their breath attacks to shatter the wall and inflict heavy losses on the Gendaya People.
  • Wellington sent three squads of Heavenly Eye warriors on Hunting Hawks to attack the weakly defended rear of the dependents’ army.
  • Three Heavenly Eye warriors released low-yield nuclear bombs, which exploded and vaporized or melted the dependents caught in the blasts.

Ch. 239The Splendor of Death

Ch. 240The Dark Elf Clan's Plan

Yarwei and the Dark Elf elders debated whether to surrender to the three-eyed humans or the True Dragon Clan, whose forces were also struggling against the humans. Yarwei chose a plan that gave the True Dragons ten minutes to break through the defenses before the Dark Elves would switch sides, leaving their forces divided between the two fronts.

  • An elder reported that the Gendaya People’s advanced weapons and nuclear bombs had devastated the Dark Elves’ morale, and suggested surrendering.
  • Yarwei argued that the Dark Elves should submit to the True Dragon Clan rather than risk revenge from the humans, but Windsor warned that the dragons might not be able to defeat them or evacuate the Second Border Defense Army.
  • Yarwei proposed helping the True Dragons attack the human defenses to open a passage, while Windsor raised the danger of leaving the Second Border Defense Army behind.
  • Windsor suggested giving the True Dragons ten minutes to break through, then turning against them and pledging allegiance to the humans if they failed.
  • Yarwei ordered Windsor to take a third of the High-Rank Transcendent fighters to reinforce the Second Border Defense Army, while she led the remaining two-thirds to join the True Dragons.

Ch. 241An Unbreakable Wall and a Counterstrike

Yarwei led the Dark Elves in pledging allegiance to Gold Dragon Chris, tipping the battle against the defenders, but Melier’s Giant Mountain Mecha withstood the dragons’ and elves’ attacks. • Yarwei sensed the distant Legendary battle but chose to keep fighting alongside Wellington against the two True Dragons.
  • Yarwei and Wellington focused on the Gold Dragon Chris, who was weakened after burning his Life Essence and being struck through the heart by Yarwei's arrow.
  • Chris fell, could not get back up, and died.

Ch. 245Come over here and fight me one-on-one

Wellington reported the Gold Dragon’s death and the Topaz Dragon’s surrender to Logo, while Yarwei led the Dark Elves to comply with his orders. After the old count learned he had missed the chance to claim the Gold Dragon’s power, he freed the Topaz Dragon and challenged him to fight, beginning another dragon-slaying battle.

  • The Topaz Dragon surrendered to Wellington, who bound him and reported the victory to Logo alongside Yarwei’s defection.
  • Logo ordered Yarwei to bring the Dark Elf tribe to him, and she led the Dark Elf fighters to replace the old count against the Basilisk leader.
  • Lavier accepted the Dark Elf surrender, then sent most of his forces to attack the Basilisk tribe after they rejected his offer and turned his envoy to stone.
  • The old count lamented Wellington’s killing of the Gold Dragon because he had hoped to claim its power for his cultivation, then accepted that Wellington had needed to fight without holding back.
  • The old count freed the Topaz Dragon, dismissed his appeal to the conventions of war, and attacked him with his war scythe.
  • The enraged Topaz Dragon charged the old count, starting another dragon-slaying battle.

Ch. 246The Fall of a Legendary

  • The old earl wounded the Topaz Dragon repeatedly, making the dragon’s defeat appear inevitable.
  • Annabelle joined the battle against Duke, who made a desperate strike at Gain before charging him again and dying three minutes later.
  • Logo asked Gain to kill the Basilisk leader, and Gain left to carry out the order.
  • Annabelle opened the mage tower and revealed Madam Poison frozen inside; she saw Duke’s body and wept as memories of their past came back to her.
  • Logo studied Madam Poison with the Eye of Insight and thought that dissecting a living Legendary being could improve his bloodline studies.

Ch. 247Conquering the Underdark: The Spoils and the Sealed Passage

Gain killed the Basilisk leader, and the old count killed the Topaz Dragon, ending the Underdark battle. Logo learned about the Underdark’s resources and a sealed passage that might lead to the Dusk Desert.

  • Gain dragged the Basilisk leader from the ground and killed it with his club.
  • The old count decapitated the Topaz Dragon and absorbed its blood-soul power, renewing his resolve to break through to Legendary.

  • Crassus suggested that the sealed passage might lead to the Dusk Desert.

Ch. 248Dusk Desert, Mysterious Flesh

Logo discovered that the passage from the conquered Underdark led toward the Dusk Desert, opening the possibility of trade with the Dusk Insect Race. At the passage’s end, he found living dark flesh that could influence those nearby and decided to study it before attempting to remove it.

  • Logo learned about the Dusk Desert, its powerful insect inhabitants, and the valuable minerals and Dusk Insect Crystals they could trade.
  • Logo ordered Yarwei to take him to the passage, and she led him with Gain and Crassus to a hollow stone hill.
  • Yarwei opened the tunnel, where Logo found unfamiliar fungus and an ancient rune-covered metal door beside dark matter suspended in shattered space.
  • Crassus reached toward the dark matter under its influence, but Logo stopped him and struck him until he regained awareness.
  • Logo used the Eye of Insight and discovered the dark matter was a piece of living flesh, then asked Gain whether he could retrieve it.
  • Gain confirmed he could remove the flesh but might be slightly injured, and Logo chose to observe it further before leaving the passage.

Ch. 249Division of Spoils

Logo learned that the Underdark passage led to an unclaimed island near the Xiya Archipelago and considered how to protect his family’s growing trade from the Gold Dragon Clan. He then divided the war spoils and Underdark territory with his allies, and planned to seek the Gale Demon Wolf Tribe’s protection.

  • Wellington reported that the True Dragon’s dependents had been dealt with, the passage led to an unclaimed island near the Xiya Archipelago, and a Tier Seven Dragonblood Monitor Lizard had escaped.
  • Logo decided to seek a powerful backer to protect his transport fleets from the Gold Dragon Clan and resolved to visit the Gale Demon Wolf Tribe.
