Supporting Todoroki

Nearly all the Hero Class A students in the training areas had fallen into hard-fought battles. Only a few exceptional students were managing relatively easily.

"Getting beaten up like this by a child? How embarrassing." Shoto Todoroki froze all the enemies, a faint fiery gleam in his eyes. "Pull yourselves together. Aren't you adults?"

Desert Zone: Chiffon alone.

Flood Zone: Tsuyu Asui, Mineta Minoru, and Midoriya Izuku.

Landslide Zone: Shoto Todoroki alone.

Collapse Zone: Eijiro Kirishima and Bakugo Katsuki.

Mountain Zone: Denki Kaminari, Momo Yaoyorozu, and Kyoka Jiro.

Fire Zone: Koji Koda alone.

Storm and Heavy Rain Zone: Fumikage Tokoyami and Koji Koda.

"Shoji, where are the other students!? Are they still here!? Can you confirm it!?" Tenya Iida asked anxiously, as though he were the one in dire straits.

"They're scattered, but they're still inside this facility." Shoji Mezo used Dupli-Arms to replicate ears, allowing him to detect the sounds around them. His words let everyone breathe a little easier. As long as they were still in the facility, there was something they could do. What they feared was being teleported to some random place with no guarantee of survival.

"Damn it, physical attacks don't work, and he can teleport too. What a troublesome Quirk, hey!" Tenya Iida said helplessly.

"Class rep." Thirteen suddenly called out.

"Here." Tenya Iida immediately replied.

"I'm giving you a task. Run all the way back to the school and report this. The alarms haven't sounded, and the phones are all out of service range. The alarm system is infrared-based. The upperclassmen—no, Eraser Head—is down there erasing their Quirks one by one, yet there's still been no response."

"They probably have someone with a Quirk capable of interference, and they hid him away from the start. In that case, rather than wasting time looking for him, it'll be faster for you to run back and report it." Thirteen's analysis was precise. They had to race against every second.

"But abandoning my classmates as the class rep is—"

"Go, now! The emergency exit!" Rikido Sato, who rarely spoke, could no longer stay calm. "There are alarms outside, so that's why these guys only dare cause trouble in here, isn't it!?"

"Once you get out, they won't dare chase you. Use your speed to shake off this cloud of mist." Hanta Sero prepared himself for battle. Escorting Tenya Iida out of here was the most important thing now.

"For the sake of rescue, you may use your Quirks." Thirteen announced that the students were permitted to use their Quirks. This was an exceptional situation.

Ochaco Uraraka said, "Just like that time in the cafeteria, I'm super good at support! I'll definitely do it right. Please, Class Rep!"

"You don't have many options, but who would be stupid enough to discuss their strategy right in front of the enemy?" Kurogiri sneered. These students thought far too highly of themselves. They had not even become Professional Heroes yet, but they were already this careless. How utterly foolish.

Kurogiri turned himself into mist, splitting off six or seven streams of black fog that lunged toward everyone. He would not let these students get out and spread the news. Everything had to follow Shigaraki Tomura's will—and that person behind him.

"Of course we're saying it openly because it doesn't matter if you hear us, okay?" Thirteen said indifferently. She raised her right hand and opened the cap over her fingertip. Suddenly, a suction force erupted from the pitch-black hollow within.

"Black Hole."

The mist Kurogiri had released was immediately sucked into Thirteen's Black Hole, drawn in rapidly like a vacuum cleaner.

Chiffon panted heavily as the lightning storm in the sky finally died down.

"Thud."

The Nomu fell to the ground in pieces, completely dead. Chiffon let out a breath of relief. He had finally killed the thing. Without the Quirk Supplement, he might not have been able to kill this Nomu at all and would have ended up in danger himself.

"Looks like I overestimated myself." Chiffon gave a self-deprecating smile. Even an early-stage Nomu had pushed him this far. What about the black one? As expected, was All Might the only one who could handle it?

After resting briefly and recovering some stamina, Chiffon headed straight for the exit. He had dealt with one Nomu, but there were still two more. The black one was fighting Shota Aizawa in the central area, while the whereabouts of the green one were unknown.

He had to support Thirteen and the other students now. Since he had come here, he could not let nothing change. At the very least, he had to save Thirteen and Shota Aizawa.

Landslide Zone.

"Split them up, then slaughter them one by one?" Shoto Todoroki calmly looked at the people he had frozen. "This might not sound nice, but you lot are nothing more than worthless trash with Quirks."

"Th-this kid, he can actually move..."

"Is he really just a brat?"

"It hurts... it hurts..."

The enemies kept groaning. Their group had the worst luck, didn't it? They had been wiped out the moment they arrived. They had thought they had more than enough people to deal with one kid, but they had been finished in a single exchange.

Then, a sudden change occurred. Shoto Todoroki's pupils widened as a fierce gust struck from behind. He instinctively dodged to the side, but he still seemed to be a moment too late.

"Ah!" Shoto Todoroki's left arm was snapped outright, hanging limply at his side. He collapsed to the ground, his forehead covered in sweat. Other than the time with his mother, this was the second time he had experienced such pain.

The green Nomu with four arms stopped. It turned around and glanced at Shoto Todoroki before lunging at him again.

Shoto Todoroki truly deserved to be a recommended student. He knew the enemy before him was extremely powerful. If he did not act, death was the only outcome.

He kicked backward with both feet and dodged the fatal punch. Then Shoto Todoroki stomped hard on the ground, and a torrent of ice instantly wrapped around the Nomu. The Nomu was frozen solid, even its face and head covered.

Shoto Todoroki hurriedly retreated. He knew this enemy could not possibly be defeated so easily. After being injured, ice of this level would only be absolutely effective against minor thugs.

Sure enough, the Nomu shattered the ice in the next instant, flexed its limbs, and fixed its two dead-fish eyes on Shoto Todoroki.

What do I do? For the first time, Shoto Todoroki felt truly troubled. He had never felt this way even when facing Chiffon. This enemy was simply too strong.

The Nomu moved, reaching directly for Shoto Todoroki's head. Every one of its attacks carried killing intent. Those were Shigaraki Tomura's orders.

At that moment, lightning flashed in the sky. A pillar-like bolt of lightning descended from above and smashed the Nomu into the ground.

"Pillar of Thunder!"

Chiffon descended from the sky and smiled at Shoto Todoroki. "Todoroki, this isn't the time to space out. You'll get killed."

"Chiffon." The moment Shoto Todoroki saw the lightning in the sky, he knew Chiffon had arrived. A sudden sense of relief washed over him, and he relaxed considerably.
