Endure It
A moment later.
"Bang!"
Su Han unleashed his strength and punched the wall.
A huge hole exploded in the wall, sending bricks and stones flying.
As one attacked and the other retreated, Su Han and the Baodan expert tumbled straight into a room.
It seemed to be a fairly out-of-the-way reception room, with only a few tables and stools, all of which had now been overturned.
The Baodan expert panted heavily, retreating and defending as he stared fiercely at Su Han.
"Kid, you're pretty strong."
"But if you want to kill me, you're still a long way off!"
Su Han said nothing.
He paid no attention to the man before him-or rather, he did not regard him as an opponent at all.
He merely looked around as he fought without effort.
He found the place suitable, far enough from the main battlefield.
He also felt the time was right.
With that, he stopped putting on an act. It was time to stop playing house.
Then, all of a sudden-
"Boom!"
Blood-red flames soared into the sky.
Su Han unleashed his power in an instant.
Dark red flames enveloped his body, and countless fine strands, like twisted hairs, wound frantically around his fist.
Bearing heat like molten lava.
He swung a punch with a thunderous force!
The punch was incomparably fast, several times faster than when he had been putting on an act.
It was so fast that his opponent could not react at all.
All the man could see was a blood-red afterimage flashing past in the blink of an eye.
Then-
"Crack!"
The sound of a sternum shattering rang out, sharp and piercing.
The Baodan expert's eyes widened, his face full of disbelief.
Just moments ago, he had thought the two of them evenly matched, trading blows back and forth.
How had things suddenly...
He spat blood, feeling as though all his internal organs were burning, and the strength throughout his body seized up.
With no strength left to fight, his body crumpled limply to the ground.
But Su Han had held back some of his strength at the last moment.
He had deftly controlled his force, crippling the man's strength without killing him outright.
"You... what do you want?"
The Baodan expert clutched his chest and looked at Su Han in terror.
Su Han's gaze sharpened slightly.
His objective had nothing to do with the Ten Thousand Immortals Cult's mission.
He had been forced to come along.
For this operation, it was enough to put on a show and go through the motions.
He had plans of his own.
For instance, the Giant Whale Sect's Secret Martial Arts.
Secret Martial Arts could also strengthen and temper the body, substantially increasing combat power, and they would become even stronger if their true gang were fused.
With his talent, he could instantly learn any Secret Martial Art and bring it to the true gang realm.
As long as he could collect Secret Martial Arts, the more he had, the better.
And the Giant Whale Sect was a good choice.
As the strongest local Secret Martial Arts sect, their Secret Martial Arts were sure to be top-grade.
Once he cultivated them to true gang and fused his own qi and blood with other true gang,
his strength would rise to a new level.
Su Han walked over to the man and crouched down, his voice cold.
"Your Giant Whale Sect's cultivation art."
"The training methods and the fighting techniques. Tell me everything."
"I can spare your life."
But the man only gritted his teeth and snarled.
"Don't even dream of it!"
"You fiends from the Ten Thousand Immortals Cult have filled your cup with evil. Your crimes are unforgivable."
"You came to wipe out our sect, and now you want our manuals too?"
"Let me tell you, even if I die, I won't give you our cultivation art."
"Give up on that idea now, you bastards."
His eyes were full of hatred, as though they might spout fire.
Su Han frowned.
Somewhat helpless, he concluded that he would not get an answer out of him.
He stood up and looked behind him.
At that moment-
"Heh."
A mocking laugh came from the doorway.
Zhao Lei walked in.
Arms folded, he leaned against the doorframe and looked at Su Han with contempt.
"Su Han, you have our Ten Thousand Immortals Cult's Qi and Blood Immortal Martial Arts, and you still cultivate trash like Secret Martial Arts?"
"Heh, you really are an ignorant native."
"Let me tell you..."
But before Zhao Lei could finish,
Su Han's figure flashed forward.
In an instant, he was in front of Zhao Lei.
They stood face-to-face, less than ten centimeters apart.
Su Han looked at Zhao Lei with icy eyes, like deep pools radiating bone-chilling cold.
Startled by the sudden turn of events, Zhao Lei jumped back, his back striking the doorframe.
"What are you doing?"
Seeing the killing intent on Su Han's face, his heart tightened.
But then he felt ashamed.
He was a Ten Thousand Immortals Cult outer disciple, and he had been frightened by a native?
If anyone found out, wouldn't they laugh at me?
His face darkened, and, wanting to regain some of his bearing, he asked in a low voice:
"What? You want to kill me?"
"You think a little talent makes you somebody?"
Su Han stared at him, then suddenly asked:
"That Red Fist Sect mission."
"Back then, you probably didn't know how strong I really was, but you still sent me on a mission to slaughter everyone in the Red Fist Sect."
"You probably saw me as cannon fodder and wanted me dead too, didn't you?"
Zhao Lei's expression froze.
Then he smiled.
He smiled without a trace of discomfort and admitted it readily.
"That's right. I wanted you dead."
"But so what?"
He stepped forward and looked down at Su Han, speaking provocatively.
"That's just the reality of the world."
"Without strength, you're an ant. Only when you have strength will we think more highly of you."
"What, you can't accept it? You're angry?"
"And then?"
He held out his hand, leaned his face forward, and lightly patted his cheek in mockery.
"Come on, then. Hit me. Kill me."
"Haha, but let me tell you, Su Han."
Zhao Lei sneered and drew his face back, his voice full of superiority.
"There's a world of difference between your status and mine."
"If you dare touch a hair on my head, no matter how talented you are, our Ten Thousand Immortals Cult will never let you off."
"Not only the cultivation art you want, but information on the Sturgeon Group..."
"You won't get any of it."
He paused, his smile growing colder.
"And that sister of yours."
"Everyone around you-your family, friends, classmates..."
"We won't let a single one of them off."
He spoke slowly and deliberately, every word stabbing at the heart, an extremely playful look on his face.
He knew how to keep Su Han in his grip.
He was also certain that these conditions would leave Su Han angry but afraid to speak out.
In that case, why not toy with this bastard?
At a small meeting in the hotel earlier, their captain, Chen Yixi, had mentioned that Senior Brother Kong attached great importance to Su Han.
But not the kind of importance one attached to a gifted genius.
It was because Su Han harbored a great secret.
If he had been valued as a gifted genius, Zhao Lei would naturally have needed to treat him better.
But unfortunately, that was not the case.
They only needed to obtain Su Han's secret later.
As for Su Han himself?
In the end, he was just a native and cannon fodder. Once they had used up his value, they could simply throw him away.
Once this operation was over, Senior Brother Kong would probably look for an opportunity to dig out Su Han's secret.
When that happened...
Su Han's fate was easy to imagine.
At that thought, a trace of pity entered Zhao Lei's gaze as he looked at Su Han.
As though he were looking at a dead man.
Then he sneered.
"Su Han, I've got you in the palm of my hand."
"You'll just have to endure it. Heh."
