Organization
Hierarchy and Command
- Ranks, lowest to highest: menial disciple → outer disciple → inner disciple → core disciple → true disciple → deacon → elder → vice cult leader → cult leader 26.
- Geographic division: true disciples are the highest-ranking members active in the outer city. Deacons and all higher ranks are in the Self-Circulating City 26.
- Squad structure: disciples belong to squads. The Jinghai Branch has multiple squads under Kong Fuxian, including Chen Yixi’s Sixth Squad 26.
- Promotion: completing missions can raise a disciple’s status. Su Han becomes an outer disciple after destroying the Red Fist Sect 17 24.
- Peripheral forces: local sects, families, and groups that submit are incorporated as subordinate forces; those that refuse face extermination 22 46.
Known Members
| Member | Position | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Li Heng'e | Vice cult leader | Former senior true disciple of Guanghan Palace. Other disciples state that she gained the status of a god after her descent 28. |
| Kong Fuxian | True disciple; outer-city leader | Commands the twelve stationed true disciples. A Blood Pillar practitioner with 920,000 combat power 35 45. |
| Chen Yixi | Inner disciple; Sixth Squad captain | Beacon Fire practitioner who supervises Su Han. Captured and later killed by him 26 40 43. |

| Su Han | Menial disciple, later outer disciple of the Sixth Squad | Joins for information about his family, then turns against the cult and kills several members 17 24 39 40 43. |
Treatment of Recruits
- Internal members: described as carefully selected talents supplied with abundant resources and personally instructed by the creator of Immortal Martial Arts 27.
- Local recruits: treated as inferior to the cult’s internal members. Menial disciples are expendable cannon fodder and risk execution by their superiors if they refuse to fight 26 37.
- Restricted information: Zhao Lei withholds details about Su Han’s family until his status rises, while higher cultivation methods are distributed selectively 17 26 42.
- Exceptional recruits: Su Han’s rapid cultivation earns him greater attention, but also surveillance and Kong Fuxian’s interest in uncovering his secret 24 28 46.
Cultivation System
The following are the cult’s standard realm-to-rank correspondences, rather than a record of any individual member’s advancement 26 35.
| Realm | Corresponding Rank | Combat Power |
|---|---|---|
| Body Refinement / Body Tempering | Menial disciple | 100–5,000 26 36. |
| Hundred Refinements | Outer disciple | 5,000–20,000 26. |
| Beacon Fire | Inner disciple | 20,000–100,000 26. |
| Wolf Smoke | Core disciple | 100,000–500,000 26. |
| Blood Pillar | True disciple | 500,000–1,000,000 35. |
- Higher realms: Ten Thousand Burns, Golden Body, Celestial Phenomenon, and Immortal Martial Arts are named, but their combat-power ranges and rank correspondences are not disclosed 26.
- Typical training time: Chen Yixi says ordinary practitioners require two or three years for the first realm and at least five years for Hundred Refinements; talent and resources can shorten the process 26.
- Internal training advantage: Zhao Lei’s group reached Hundred Refinements in roughly half a month with extensive support, making Su Han’s unaided one-day breakthrough particularly alarming to them 27.
- Comparison with local systems: Chen Yixi presents Immortal Martial Arts as a separate, progressive system capable of competing with Secret Martial Arts, enhanced humans, modified humans, and divine mecha masters 26.
Abilities and Resources
Qi and Blood Immortal Martial Arts
- Cultivates qi and blood to strengthen the body. At Hundred Refinements, practitioners keep their blood boiling while strengthening themselves and tempering waste blood 26.
- Produces blood flames, intense heat, and explosive increases in combat power—recognizable signs used by opponents to identify cult practitioners 23 30.
- Includes the Azure Waves Immortal Martial Arts manuals distributed to Su Han, beginning with the Body Tempering Chapter 17.
- Requires considerable resources under normal circumstances; Su Han’s constantly improving constitution allows him to bypass that expense 20.
- Can be combined with Secret Martial Arts force techniques, as demonstrated by Su Han, though this is his own application rather than a stated standard cult practice 20 23.
Beacon Fire Martial Techniques
| Technique | Application |
|---|---|
| Blood Flame Fist | Coats the fist in blood flames, combining impact with burning damage 27. |
| Blood Explosion Strike | Compresses qi and blood, drives it into an opponent, and detonates it internally 27. |
| Heaven-Engulfing Blood Sea | Releases qi and blood over an area, surrounding enemies with continuously burning blood flames 27. |
Heaven and Earth Eight Trigrams Blood Sacrifice Grand Formation
- Structure: eight subsidiary formations positioned around a city center. In Jinghai City, the Giant Whale Sect occupies the Kan position 42 44.
- Function: gathers blood throughout the formation’s area and refines it into Blood Pills that raise cult members’ cultivation 42.
- Operation: true disciples use their own vital energy and blood in formation work. Earlier sect exterminations largely served as experiments 35.
- Victims: the cult deliberately encourages deaths among enemies, civilians, and its own expendable recruits. Chen Yixi states that greater bloodshed improves the pills’ quantity and purity 42.
- Confirmed yield: the Jinghai City experiment produces 375 Blood Pills, which Kong Fuxian distributes among the gathered true disciples 45.
Other Equipment
- Combat data watches: detect nearby combat power; Chen Yixi supplies one to Su Han before the Giant Whale Sect mission 27.
- Cultivation manuals: higher-realm methods can be transmitted digitally. Kong Fuxian sends Su Han the Wolf Smoke and Blood Pillar techniques during negotiations over Chen Yixi 43.
History
Origins and Covert Activity
The cult’s precise origin is not established. Lu Xunxiang reports rumors that its members come from another world, while the Earth Condemnation Bureau describes them as foreign invaders with concealed identities. Its true disciples are stated to come from outside Yi Kingdom 18 35.
Before the Jinghai City operation, the cult develops covertly in the outer city and attracts two years of surveillance from the Earth Condemnation Bureau. It approaches Secret Martial Arts sects with demands for submission and destroys several that refuse 22 34 35.
Su Han’s Recruitment and the Red Fist Sect
Zhao Lei recruits Su Han by offering information about his parents’ killers. Su Han immediately agrees, receives menial-disciple status and a basic cultivation manual, and learns that people from the Self-Circulating City were responsible, with the Sturgeon Group handling the affair 17.
Zhao Lei later sends him to exterminate the Red Fist Sect, privately intending the mission to kill him. Su Han instead destroys the sect, earning promotion to outer disciple and assignment to Chen Yixi’s Sixth Squad. Kong Fuxian orders the squad to give him his sister’s location and keep him under observation 21 23 24.
Jinghai City Blood Sacrifice
The cult publicly targets the Giant Whale Sect, prompting the Earth Condemnation Bureau and Sturgeon Group to prepare an ambush. Kong Fuxian already knows about their plan and uses the confrontation to test both the opposing forces and the completed blood-sacrifice formation 34 35.
The Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth Squads attack the Giant Whale Sect while stronger cult members engage defenders across downtown Jinghai City. The full deployment includes twelve true disciples, more than one hundred core disciples, and numerous lower-ranking members 27 36 44.
The cult successfully activates the formation despite heavy losses. Tian Yijing reports that more than ten thousand civilians die and that the fighting leaves both sides heavily damaged 44.
| Reported Result | Outcome |
|---|---|
| Cult’s lower ranks | More than half of its menial, outer, and inner disciples are killed or injured 44. |
| Earth Condemnation Bureau | Twelve complete-form augmented humans lost; thirty-five seriously injured 44. |
| Sturgeon Group | Five complete-form augmented humans lost; eighteen seriously injured 44. |
| Cult’s assessment | Kong Fuxian declares the experiment successful and distributes its Blood Pills 45. |
Su Han’s Break with the Cult
During the operation, Zhao Lei admits that he wanted Su Han dead and threatens his family and friends. Su Han kills him, then kills Li Feng and Liu Yu and captures Chen Yixi 38 39 40.
Chen Yixi reveals the blood-sacrifice plan while captive. Su Han subsequently obtains the Wolf Smoke and Blood Pillar methods from Kong Fuxian in exchange for releasing her, but kills her after receiving the genuine techniques 42 43.
Expansion and Retaliation
Following the massacre, Earth Condemnation Bureau headquarters makes the cult’s eradication its highest priority. Chu Xun announces coordinated investigations throughout the outer city, full Sturgeon Group assistance, and orders to kill cult disciples without mercy 44.
Kong Fuxian nevertheless orders continued recruitment or extermination of local forces and plans to establish blood-sacrifice formations in other city centers. He promises reinforcements and advocates confronting the bureau openly. Separately, he orders Wang Yuan to find Chen Yixi and bring Su Han back alive so that his unusual cultivation speed can be investigated 46.
