An Invitation to the Party
News that Slughorn was preparing to host a grand party spread like wildfire throughout the school.
As a party Prince and dance super king, he feels restless if he doesn't have a party at least once a week.
Since entering the school, Slughorn has held seven parties in just a few months.
But these were all small-scale events, and the guests were limited to outstanding students from those schools.
In Slughorn's words, this was just an appetizer.
Now that he's finally got William and Hermione on board, the main course can be served!
In other words, he made these dumplings specifically for these "two vinegars".
Otherwise, it's not fun to eat.
In the words of an old British man, it boils down to two words: meticulous!
Therefore, for William and Hermione's sake, he planned to invite many famous wizards to demonstrate his extraordinary connections.
This will be Hogwarts' grandest seaside extravaganza since the Triwizard Tournament years ago.
This statement immediately caused a stir throughout the school.
Everyone reminisced about that year's dance, it feels like it was just yesterday... What more can be said? Beauties and handsome guys, let's all get hyped!!
However, it is well known that Professor Slughorn's gatherings usually only send out a limited number of invitations to a select group of outstanding students.
But with so many junior wizards and so few openings, naturally many people didn't receive an invitation.
What should they do if they want to go again?
For a time, the Hogwarts black market was incredibly prosperous, with many students selling invitations.
These are all obviously fake.
Slughorn explicitly stated in one of his classes:
This gathering will feature many important figures from the Ministry of Magic, star wizards, and leaders from various industries.
This is a fantastic opportunity to build connections; no one can resist it, so they're going to start selling invitations.
It's not worth it!
As a result, the wizards who received the invitations could only endure wave after wave of harassment.
William was also annoyed, as he once again witnessed groups of girls wanting to join him.
With Cedric absent this time, William became the only option.
So the scene was even more terrifying than the Yule Ball two years ago.
In the words of her younger sister Anne:
"You've been spending too much time with Hermione and have no idea what other girls are like. They're the craziest!"
This madness included knocking on his office door and deliberately asking him questions.
During the Ancient Runes, he deliberately skipped the class and interrupted his lecture.
When William went to class, this group of crazy female students would occasionally barge in.
Professor McGonagall was furious, and she could often be seen deducting points from the girls in line.
And then there's Professor Snape, who particularly dislikes these kinds of activities and spends his days spouting his sarcastic and eccentric remarks.
However, the most furious person was Professor Burbage, the Muggle Studies professor.
That day, he was leading his students in a severe experiment on how hard-boiled eggs could become stale.
This is a prime example of his painstaking research over the past twenty years, closely combining magic and Muggle.
The method is: Muggle learn to use magic and employ superpsychological energy techniques to bring an egg back to life.
It is said that he also published a paper titled "Experimental Report on Turning a Hard-boiled Egg into a Raw Egg and Hatching a Chick".
William was in Professor Dumbledore's place at the time, checking whether the experiment was reproducible.
To everyone's surprise, the students barged in and interrupted the experiment.
Professor Burbage maintains that the female students were responsible for the failure of his experiment.
He also demanded that William compensate him with six hens.
William could only sigh at this magical world.
William wasn't the only one bothered by the Slughorn party; Harry was too.
He didn't like going to Slughorn's parties, but then he thought, why not invite Cho or Ginny to such a great opportunity?
Without Cedric's interference this time, Harry believed he could finally make up for the disappointment of the Yule Ball two years ago.
He can dance with autumn.
Inviting Ginny is a good idea; I don't have any bad intentions, I just want to chat with her about ball-playing techniques.
So, Harry wavered wildly between the girls, beginning to hesitate.
With only one invitation, who should he invite?
Autumn is like a white moonlight, Ginny is my current favorite.
Both are my flesh and blood.
Harry even tossed and turned all night, unable to sleep.
After much hesitation, he finally decided to choose his white moonlight.
He mustered his courage to invite Qiu, but then received devastating news.
Qiu also received an invitation, and she planned to invite Cedric instead.
Ah. JPG!!
Well, Harry wasn't that upset.
Ever since Cho and Cedric got together, he gradually felt that Ginny was becoming more and more beautiful, and his feelings for Cho weren't as strong as before.
Now that Qiu has rejected him, he no longer needs to worry and can legitimately invite Ginny to join him.
During a Quidditch practice session, Harry made another suggestion about Ginny.
Unfortunately, Ginny told him that she was going with Dean.
Harry is so upset... Why do all the girls he like have boyfriends?
Harry was depressed for several days and kept spacing out during Herbology.
At that moment, Professor Sprout was upstairs talking about the Snargaluff and told everyone to wear protective gloves.
Ron, noticing Harry's expression, assumed that Voldemort had made him depressed.
Sprout was speaking up, while he quietly inquired downstairs about the lessons Dumbledore had recently given Harry.
Harry recounted to Ron everything he had seen with Dumbledore recently.
"Wow, how terrifying, the You-Know-Who from his youth," Ron said softly.
"However, Rita's biography will be released around Christmas, so we can see that then."
"So I don't understand, why would Dumbledore let you see these? I mean, they are interesting, but what's the point?"
"I don't know either." Harry put on a sap-proof mask. "But the professor said it's very important and will help me survive."
"By the way, how's your investigation into the Half-Blood Prince going?" Ron asked curiously.
"No progress. I'm planning to ask Professor Slughorn about it at the upcoming gathering," Harry said.
The previous report about Rita reminded him.
If the You-Know-Who were all students of Slughorn back then, then Eileen Prince must have been one fifty years ago as well.
Ron's face immediately darkened at the mention of the party.
He pressed the pod down with both hands, trying to squeeze its juice into the bowl, saying sourly:
"Everyone's been talking about this party lately. It's another one by Slughorn, just a sycophantic gathering for you pampered kids."
"Yes, it's specifically for the Slug Club," Harry said.
"However, I've heard that many interesting wizards will be coming."
For example, Gwenog Jones.
"Gwenog Jones?" Ron's eyes widened. "Gwenog Jones? The captain of the Holyhead Harpies?"
"It's him." Harry nodded.
Ron became increasingly envious, and he said sarcastically:
"Slug Club," that sounds awful. Harry, I hope you have fun at the party.
Perhaps you can get Gwenog Jones ' autograph.
Did Slughorn crown you King of the Slugs?
Harry stared at Ron speechlessly.
He realized he hadn't invited anyone, so he shrugged and said:
"I was just about to invite you, but since you think the party is so boring, then forget it!"
"You were originally going to invite me?" Ron's eyes widened, and his expression changed in a flash.
"Oh, great! I meant Harry... I said yes..."
Just as the two were whispering to each other, Professor Sprout walked over and pressed their heads down into the flowerpot.
She put her hands on her hips and said:
"Boys, if you want to date, do it after class. This isn't the place for you to go on dates."
The students burst into laughter.
